Yoda is a fictional character in the Star Wars universe, who appears in all of the franchise's films except for Episode IV: A New Hope. Yoda first appeared in the Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back as a Jedi Master, who trains Luke Skywalker in the ways of the Jedi. His role within the universe was further expanded with appearances in the three films of the prequel trilogy
