Benjamin Lee Whorf

Benjamin Lee Whorf (April 24, 1897 in Winthrop, Massachusetts - July 26, 1941) was an American linguist. Whorf has had considerable influence in the field of sociolinguistics for his theory of linguistic relativity, which he developed with Edward Sapir.
