Nan Fairbrother (1913-1971) was an English writer and journalist not a landscape architect. She was born in Coventry, England and attended the University of London, graduating with honors in English. She married William McKenzie, a physician, before World War II and wrote her first book about raising her sons in the country while her husband served with the Royal Air Force (RAF).
