Nan Fairbrother (1913-1971) was an English writer and journalist not a landscape architect. She was born in Coventry, England and attended the University of London, graduating with honors in English. She married William McKenzie, a physician, before World War II and wrote her first book about raising her sons in the country while her husband served with the Royal Air Force (RAF). Her brother (James Alick (Rex) Fairbrother) was a landscape architect
