The constant questions over the last six weeks have proven a great distraction that has made it too difficult for me to serve the people of the 18th District with the high standards that they deserve and which I have set for myself.

Aaron Schock

Aaron Jon Schock is the United States Representative for Illinois's 18th congressional district, serving since 2009. He is a member of the Republican Party. The district is based in Peoria and includes part of Springfield. At the age of 33, Schock is the third youngest currently serving U.S. representative, after Patrick Murphy of Florida, and Elise Stefanik of New York. Additionally, he was the first member of the U.S. Congress born in the 1980s. Previously, Schock served two terms in the Illinois House of Representatives and was its youngest member.
