[Lubbock is taking Craig to the infirmary after he's gotten a dumbbell dropped on his hand] Look Craig, I know what went on in there. I'll be watching those boys, but I want you to know you're an easy mark here.
What do you mean?
You're young and small, and you don't come off the streets. And you're a whiner.
[mocking] "It's not my fault", "I didn't do anything"... you act like you don't belong here or something.
I don't. I'm not like the rest of those guys. I'm no criminal.
Oh, I see. Everyone here is a criminal besides you.
Well, they're different. You know what I mean.
No I don't! The way I see it, you've earned your way in there the same as everyone else.
[Vato Loco has gone sprawling after Craig unwittingly takes a chair out from under him] Man, you did it this time.
I didn't do anything!
That was Vato Loco who fell down. That's kid's the craziest in the whole gang. He'll do anything, and you made him look bad. Big trouble, man!
[striding imperiously about the room and chattering in his typically pompous emotionless tone as he describes Preston's "tightly packed and nauseatingly formal and abhorrently boring" social schedule for the day, speaking as if to a blank wall, without even facing the boy]... our top diplomat from Sweden will be lunching with us at 12:15; no doubt he will greatly wish to see your shining face, and then - - [abruptly notices with totally controlled offended dignity that Preston is hanging up a glossy-surfaced orange-toned "sun over a lake" poster on the end wall to try to give the rather drab room a little "cheery color"] Preston - -! How many times must I remind you... this is an authentic eighteenth-century room! You know that nothing whatsoever must detract from its unique period ambiance!
[in a disgusted remonstrating tone to show that he feels that "Mr. Stiffneck" is overreacting to the presence of just a single harmless "modern-day-style" poster] Aww, Piccky-...
[still displaying a totally expressionless "greasy-faced' impersonality that makes the audience sick to its stomach, and speaking in a coolly-reproachful "I can never get mad or excited, no matter what happens" tone of still-offended dignity] When you call me by that name, I do not hear you.
[needlessly and restlessly repeating the same thing over and over every two or three seconds in an almost desperate feverish attempt to seem totally "formal and polite" and "doing everything exactly and precisely by the book", but in reality making himself look like an foolishly-formal "stuffed penguin", especially in the casual-minded and unimpressed eyes of the teenage girl scouts] This way, please, ladies... would you just follow me, ladies... if you'll please follow me, ladies... right this way, ladies...
[as he shakes Preston's hand to say goodbye after they've hurriedly switched their jackets back again, and thinking of the cantankerous "unacceptable formal-setting behavior and/or seemingly-radical political viewpoints" uproar that he's unwittingly caused with the White House staff and other attendees during his naive impersonating of Preston, and the impending aftermath of it all which Preston will now be forced to "inherit" and have to deal with the effects of as if he himself had actually created the discontent] Preston - - thanks. And GOOD LUCK - - you're GONNA NEED IT!
[both are stoned after smoking a bong at Teddy's home] Are you high?
Am I who? [both laugh] Hey man, look at that tree, all bent and twisted. It looks like Old Man Eber.
Old man who?
Old Man Eber. I walked past that tree hundreds of times and never saw him. How come I never noticed?
'Cause grass helps you see things clearer.
I thought it was supposed to cloud things up.
Just the opposite. You see things for less of what you want them to be and more for what they really are.
