[DC Hazel Savage is questioning Fred West about the suspected murder of his daughter, to which he has confessed]

Detective Constable Hazel Savage:
Are you sure you buried Heather all in one place?

Fred West:
You what?

Detective Constable Hazel Savage:
You sure you didn't *scatter* any of her body around the garden?

Fred West:
No.

Detective Constable Hazel Savage:
Cos they found another body part in another part of the garden.

Fred West:
Well I can't think how that could have got there.

Howard Ogden:
Are you suggesting it *wasn't* part of Heather?

Fred West:
It must have been.

Detective Constable Hazel Savage:
[sarcastically] It was a thigh bone. They've already found two thigh bones. Heather didn't *have* three legs, did she?

Detective Constable Hazel Savage:
We're all having difficulty understanding this. Especially how these things can have gone on without Rose's knowledge.

Fred West:
Rose was out.

Detective Constable Hazel Savage:
Out where?

Fred West:
Shopping.

Detective Constable Hazel Savage:
Whilst you had sex, murdered and buried them? She must have had an awful lot of shopping to do!

Fred West:
[flippantly] She does. It's a fair old walk to Tesco.

Rose West:
[to Janet] Oh, what are you so f***ing scared of, you little mouse? Little mousey-mouse wouldn't say boo to a f***ing goose - I bet your a dirty little lezzie, too.

Fred West:
[after telling police he'd killed and buried his daughter Heather in the garden] I'm telling you now what I just told my solicitor - Heather is not in that garden. She's alive and well and possibly living in Bahrain. She's been recruited to work for a drugs cartel as a drugs runner. They treat her like a queen. She gets in touch now and again to tell me she's all right. She's using a false name. I have no idea what that is and I will not let her tell me. Now, whether or not you believe me in that is entirely up to you. But that's why you found nothing and you won't, not even if you dig till Kingdom Come. And I don't care how much money and time you waste, cos you wasted mine. Not just now but in the past.

Detective Constable Hazel Savage:
Because there were previous allegations.

Fred West:
There was nothing in them!

Detective Constable Hazel Savage:
Rape and buggery of two of your children!

Fred West:
Which was never proven. You had me remanded in prison, spat at by other prisoners, my younger kids put into care, where they still are - poor little lambs - trying to force me to admit that I assaulted them!

Detective Constable Hazel Savage:
[Overlapping] Trying to get to the truth, Fred!

Fred West:
You turned my house upside down...

Detective Constable Hazel Savage:
- And we'll do so again - and the garden...

Fred West:
- ?3,000 that cost me last __

Detective Constable Hazel Savage:
We'll keep on searching until we find Heather!

Fred West:
All because of some stupid remark about her being under the patio!

Detective Constable Hazel Savage:
That remark was made by your own daughter, Fred. Anne-Marie said it was a family joke...

Fred West:
A joke - there you are!

Detective Constable Hazel Savage:

Fred West:

Rose West:

Detective Constable Hazel Savage:
That's right. Me again. [Shows Rose a piece of paper]

Rose West:
Well, what's that?

Detective Constable Hazel Savage:
A warrent. To search the house and the garden.

Howard Ogden:
[Janet and Howard are shown to the police cells] Mrs. West?

Rose West:
Jesus! You.

Howard Ogden:
This lady's brought you some of your clothes.

Rose West:
What? You've been to my house, rooting round in my things?

Janet Leach:
The police asked me...

Rose West:
F***ing cheek! [Snatches clothes off Janet]

Janet Leach:
We were just quickly in and out and we saw Stephen and Mae, and Mae said she hoped you were all right.

Rose West:
[Irate] By what right, by what right, you nosy f***ing b*tch, do you go into my house and speak to my children and poke about among my private things?

Howard Ogden:
Rose.

Rose West:
Jesus Christ!

Woman Police Constable:
Rose, calm down!

Rose West:
Who are you, anyway? Who are you?

Detective Superintendent John Bennett:
[Walks in] She's helping us, Mrs. West.

Rose West:
She's got no right touching my clothing and you've got no right arresting me!

Detective Superintendent John Bennett:
All we want is to get to the truth.

Rose West:
No it ain't - what you want is for me to say Fred killed our Heather and I helped him!

Detective Superintendent John Bennett:
Did you?

Rose West:
No - I did not - how many f***ing times? You've got nothing on me - and you know it!
