H.R. Pufnstuf

H.R. Pufnstuf is a children's television series produced by Sid and Marty Krofft in the United States. It was the second Krofft live-action, life-sized-puppet program. The seventeen episodes were originally broadcast from September 6, 1969, to December 27, 1969. The broadcasts were successful enough that NBC kept it on the Saturday morning schedule until August 1972. The show was shot in Paramount Studios and its opening was shot in Big Bear Lake, California. Reruns of the show aired on ABC Saturday morning from September 2, 1972, to September 8, 1973, and on Sunday mornings in some markets from September 16, 1973, to September 8, 1974. It was syndicated by itself from September 1974 to June 1978 and in a package with six other Krofft series under the banner Krofft Superstars from 1978 to 1985. Reruns of the show were featured on TV Land in 1999 as part of their "Super Retrovision Saturdaze" Saturday morning-related overnight programming block and in the summer of 2004 as part of their TV Land "Kitschen" late-night programming block, and was later shown on MeTV from 2014 until 2016. In 2004 and 2007, H.R. Pufnstuf was ranked #22 and #27 on TV Guide's Top Cult Shows Ever.

[chuckles]

Orson Vulture:
Ooooh! Can I have that piece before you sprinkle it?

Witchiepoo:
I told you this candy is for them! It's going to put them to sleep! You ding-a-ling duck! And now I'm on my way so these luscious little bonbons can do their dirty work. Say goodbye to Mother! [strikes Orson Vulture]

Orson Vulture:
What a mother!

Mushroom:
Hey there, Witchiepoo. You gotta match?

Witchiepoo:
Yeah. My life and your cigar. They're both rotten!

Jimmy:
200 buttons?

H.R. Pufnstuf:
That's what we use for money here on Living Island, Jimmy. Sorry, Ludicrous, the Treasury is empty. Our buttons have hit bottom.

Ludicrous Lion:
Ha ha ha Haaa! Our buttons have hit bottom! That's cute!

Witchiepoo:
What do you think of your sweet little Witchiepoo now?

Orson Vulture:
I have a very good suggestion which I make in all humility, my dear Miss Witch.

Witchiepoo:
What is that, my sweet?

Orson Vulture:
[yelling so loudly to make the ground shake] STOP HITTING ME-E-E!

H.R. Pufnstuf:
Hi, there! You were just marvelous in that last scene. Can I have your autograph?

Witchiepoo:
Don't butter me up you jolly green dum-dum!
