It is sometimes under conditions of difficulty that the human spirit burns brightest. Steven Sles was born with cerebral palsy and has had only the most limited use of his hands and legs. Despite being born at a time (1940) when the handicapped were not encouraged to aspire to a full life, Steven's will, intellect and spirit would not accept this as his fate . He graduated from Swarthmore, studied art abroad, married, became a father, exhibited his art around the world and is recognized by prestigious art organizations. After retiring from the world of painting he turned his creative forces to the world of music and has now produced two CDs. This DVD shows 200 of Steven's paintings from his early period set against the background of his music, played at a pace that allows for a contemplative journey into unexpected worlds.
