Mick Aston:
I'm not Eeyore! We came to this site because there were masses of finds but no context. I'd be surprised if that sword got here other than comparatively recently.

Carenza Lewis:
It is absolutely bloody criminal to put an item like that in the ground.

Himself - Presenter:
So someone has salted the spring.

[Francis is using a shovel to excavate a trench]

Francis Pryor:
It's like watching a great dancer, isn't it, watching me shovel.

Phil Harding:
What?

Francis Pryor:

Phil Harding:
[yokel accent] Oi reckon Oi can shovel, but Oi'm damned if Oi can dance!

[they laugh]

Tony Robinson:
[voiceover] Unfortunately I'm not sure there's a major sense of urgency amongst the diggers on the main site of the camp.

Francis Pryor:
I tell you one thing, though: for an old boy, I leave quite a nice flat bottom.

Phil Harding:
[yokel accent] Oh, there ain't nothing like a flat bottom, Francis!

Tony Robinson:
[voiceover] I *think* they're talking about the bottom of the trench. Or maybe they're not.
