Deputy Ed Garry:

Deputy Ed Garry:

Harley Masters:
I need a drink first before the doctor.

Deputy Ed Garry:
Looks to me like you need both.

Doc Allen Vinson:
Stand aside! Give him air!

Deputy Sheriff Weed Toler:
Save it, Doc. He's dead.

Doc Allen Vinson:
Yeah? You run your department and I'll run mine.

Hotel Desk Clerk:
I got a room; put your cross down. Two bucks without a window, three bucks with - in advance.

Deputy Ed Garry:
How much extra for a *bed*?

Janet Masters:
Do you always come breaking into your room with a six-gun in your hand?

Deputy Ed Garry:
Only when I'm expecting company.

Janet Masters:

Deputy Ed Garry:
Had an idea somebody'd be here when the clerk switched keys on me. I'm glad it turned out to be you.

[Janet whips out her pistol as Ed holsters his gun]

Janet Masters:
Maybe you won't be.

Claire Benton:

Deputy Ed Garry:
Ed Garry. What's yours?

Claire Benton:
Claire Benton.

Deputy Ed Garry:
Joel Benton's sister?

Claire Benton:
So you've met him already.

Deputy Ed Garry:
I've met him.

Claire Benton:
He's a big man around here. Just ask him anytime - He'll tell you.

Joel Benton:
Hey, Claire! I thought the dining room was closed.

Claire Benton:
Well, Ed had to eat.

Joel Benton:
Ed? Say, you get chummy pretty fast, don't you, Sis?

Claire Benton:
Why don't you stick to running the town.

[Dan is measuring Eli for a coffin]

Doc Allen Vinson:
Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Never mind, Dan - he's still breathin'. Too bad.

Hotel Desk Clerk:
Don't worry about it, Doc. You'll get him sometime anyway.

[Jim knocks out Joel's henchman after a long fistfight]

Claire Benton:
So the big man gets wronged.

Joel Benton:
I thought I told you to get out!

Claire Benton:
Sure... sure you did. Only you're not such a big man anymore. You're stock's going down.

Deputy Ed Garry:
Say, you know the town could use a man like you.

Joel Benton:
You or the town?

Deputy Ed Garry:
Same thing.

Deputy Ed Garry:
On your way, Redwood. You, too, Benton

Joel Benton:
What? Am I under arrest?

Deputy Ed Garry:
No, but I feel safer with you in front of me.

Eli Cressett:
[from his jail cell] When I get out of here, you're the first one I'm going to look up.

Deputy Ed Garry:
Don't crowd your luck - it's been all bad so far.

[Ed and Claire are about to kiss]

Janet Masters:
I hate to interrupt, but you happen to be on my property.

Claire Benton:
Sorry, Janet. I didn't see your brand on him.

Deputy Ed Garry:
[to his horse] Let that be a lesson to you - never kiss a girl on another girl's ranch.

Bill Masters:
You string along with me and I'll make you more money than you've ever dreamed of.

Eli Cressett:
You, ah, you mean you want me to get rid of Benton?

Bill Masters:
Now you're getting smart.

Eli Cressett:
And if I do get rid of Benton... what's the split?

Bill Masters:
50-50.

Eli Cressett:
And if I don't?

Bill Masters:
Then you're not so smart.

Eli Cressett:
It's a deal.

Bill Masters:
Good. We'll get along.

Eli Cressett:
So long as that you don't figure by getting rid of Benton you've only got me to handle.

Bill Masters:
Hadn't thought of that.

[Masters leaves]

Eli Cressett:

Doc Allen Vinson:

[speaking directly to the audience]

Doc Allen Vinson:
