Of course, as soon as we got on the show it was clear that Ace, God bless him, and we all love him and so do I, was blitzed out of his mind! This was a real high point in my life and I just wanted to take a sharp object and just end it right then there. Because when I watch this, the real star of this interview is Ace Frehley, the most entertaing guy and stuff like that. I thought our career was over.

Gene Simmons:
[during Tom Snyder interview commentary] Ace, bless him, and he continues to be today, is a sweetheart, has always has a pure heart. He never wished anybody any harm, just as a guy as a character, what's sort of underneath that. And when he would have a few... Gallons, he'd turn into a real happy guy.

Paul Stanley:
[during Tom Snyder interview commentary] What people don't usually realize is that the funny carefree Ace that they were seeing on television or in certain interviews was not the same Ace that we had to deal with most of the time. There is that fine line between speeding in a race car and in a milli-second you're off the road. Ace was capable of being very funny and in the next minute being incapable of playing his guitar or standing up for that matter.
