This film features the first starring role for legendary comedian Jack Benny in a role completely different from his well know persona. Benny portrays Dr. John Harvey, a traveling medicine show owner and the lead huckster of the group. Dr. Harvey and his show come to a small town where a young woman and her brother live with and work for an abusive father. Dr. Harvey puts aside his greedy nature and takes a genuine interest in the two siblings while falling in love with the young woman.
