[letter, Mrs. Delvecchio reads it] Dear Mom and Dad: I've been trying to tell you this, but I love you so much; and it's so hard I'm taking the easy way out. I just can't be near you when you see this becuase I've already caused so much pain. The reason why I took so long on Friday is because the FBI man, Mr. Gilwood, thinks that I killed Stacy Lockwood, that I did it... and he is right. I can't bring her back. But I'm so sorry. I would kill myself except maybe that would hurt you even more. I've been able to live with it for awhile, but I can't ignore it. It's too much for me, and I can't be that deceiving. I've spoken to a priest but I still can't take it. I need to turn myself in - with you, if you would come today. Please forgive me. I need you. I'm so sorry to have been a disappointment to you in every way. I'm even worse than words can describe, and I hate myself. I need your love. Please, still love me. I can't live unless you love me.
