A new vision of development is emerging. Development is becoming a people-centered process, whose ultimate goal must be the improvement of the human condition.
As our own species is in the process of proving, one cannot have superior science and inferior morals. The combination is unstable and self-destroying.
Destiny doesn't stay in the stars, but she lives within our characters IMO. Our characters are governed by our actions, while our actions are driven by our thoughts. So ultimately it's our thoughts that truly control our Destiny. Who we're today, and who we'll become tomorrow is thus purely directed by our thought process. Hence, thinking positively becomes the key to awesome "Now" and amazing "Tomorrow". Destiny is never a matter of chance, but a matter of choice that we make every moment. So, think positively - always!
Here are the seven signs of Narcissism, which you can use to identify the Narcissists that may be around you in the society.: (1) Shamelessness: Shame is the feeling that lurks beneath all unhealthy narcissism, and the inability to process shame in healthy ways. (2) Magical thinking: Narcissists view themselves as perfect at all times, using distortion and illusion known as “magical thinking“. They also use projection to dump shame onto others. (3) Arrogance: A narcissist who is feeling deflated may re-inflate by diminishing, debasing, or degrading somebody else. (4) Envy: A narcissist may secure a sense of superiority in the face of another person’s ability by using contempt to minimize the other person. (5) Entitlement: Narcissists hold unreasonable expectations of particularly favorable treatment and automatic compliance because they consider themselves special. Failure to comply is considered an attack on their superiority, and the perpetrator is considered an “awkward” or “difficult” person. Defiance of their will is a narcissistic injury that can trigger narcissistic rage. (6) Exploitation: Can take many forms but always involves the exploitation of others without regard for their feelings or interests. Often the other is in a subservient position where resistance would be difficult or even impossible. Sometimes the subservience is not so much real as assumed. (7) Bad boundaries: Narcissists do not recognize that they have boundaries and that others are separate and are not extensions of themselves. Others either exist to meet their needs or may as well not exist at all. Those who provide narcissistic supply to the narcissist are treated as if they are part of the narcissist and are expected to live up to those expectations. In the mind of a narcissist there is no boundary between self and other.
I've seen too much hate to want to hate, myself, and every time I see it, I say to myself, hate is too great a burden to bear. Somehow we must be able to stand up against our most bitter opponents and say:”We shall match your capacity to inflict suffering by our capacity to endure suffering. We will meet your physical force with soul force. Do to us what you will and we will still love you.... But be assured that we'll wear you down by our capacity to suffer, and one day we will win our freedom. We will not only win freedom for ourselves; we will appeal to your heart and conscience that we will win you in the process, and our victory will be a double victory.
Innovation, in actuality, is often the result of generations of product development that involves many iterations and numerous failures. Real Innovators are those who ultimately reorganize and re-format a culmination of this iterative know-how into a fabulous framework leading to a successful new product, novel process and a stronger company. Iterative innovation has always been as important as seminal innovation, imho, involving significant risks that often come with exceptional rewards.
It is an error to imagine that evolution signifies a constant tendency to increased perfection. That process undoubtedly involves a constant remodelling of the organism in adaptation to new conditions but it depends on the nature of those conditions whether the directions of the modifications effected shall be upward or downward.
It's amazing that pigeons, lobsters, turtles, and even rats don’t get lost on their way, and unlike humans, they don't need either mapquest or Google Maps or GPS to find their way home. This is because they have built-in GPS within themselves. These animals rely on and leverage Earth’s magnetic field for orientation and navigation. The neural source of magnetic sense in pigeons are now found to be the single cells that encode three key positioning factors: the direction of a magnetic field, its intensity, and its polarity (north or south). It's so amazing. Centuries ago, the pigeons were used in India to send messages across hundreds of miles. By understanding how the pigeons process the computing and mapping in the brain, one day that info can probably be used to imorove the spatial orientation in human brains. And some day in future, we may not need a GPS in the car, because that GPS will be within us, built-in and totally internal to guide us at all times.
Language is the soul of intellect, and reading is the essential process by which that intellect is cultivated beyond the commonplace experiences of everyday life.
Metamorphosis is an inherent part and the most profound process of life, in my view. We constantly transform into better versions of ourselves, like an Ugly Duckling transforming to Swan, and a Caterpillar to beautiful Butterfly. The metamorphosis continues throgh the journey of life, and then from generation to generations yet to come. There is an element of elegance and beauty in the fact that we all evolve, metaphorically, to Butterflies with Earth as our Chrysalis.
Mothers all want their sons to grow up to be president, but they don't want them to become politicians in the process.
Strategy is a style of thinking, a conscious and deliberate process, an intensive implementation system, the science of insuring future success.
The process of learning requires not only hearing and applying but also forgetting and then remembering again.
You are in the process of being indoctrinated. We have not yet evolved a system of education that is not a system of indoctrination. We are sorry, but it is the best we can do. What you are being taught here is an amalgam of current prejudice and the choices of this particular culture. The slightest look at history will show how impermanent these must be. You are being taught by people who have been able to accomodate themselves to a regime of thought laid down by their predecessors. It is a self-perpetuating system. Those of you who are more robust and individual than others, will be encouraged to leave and find ways of educating yourself-educating your own judgement. Those that stay must remember, always and all the time, that they are being moulded and patterned to fit into the narrow and particular needs of this society.
You can teach a student a lesson for a day but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives.
Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And when you look into an abyss, the abyss also looks into you.
Contrary to popular belief, transformation cannot be based on a single event, advice, book, or seminar. These things may lead to a new insight or even a temporary change, however, real transformation requires the formation of new thinking patterns and behavioral habits. Transformation requires consistent action and time to reinforce new learned values and drop old ones. Once the process of transformation is completed, it will change who you are, your life and the lives of the people around you.
Change is the end result of all true learning. Change involves three things First, a dissatisfaction with self-a felt void or need second, a decision to change-to fill the void or need and third, a conscious dedication to the process of growth and change-the willful act of making the change Doing Something.
(Miele) really thought the process through. They did such a great job designing these washers and dryers. I got more thrill out of them than I have out of any piece of high tech in years.
