Time is what keeps the light from reaching us. There is no greater obstacle to God than time: and not only time but temporalities, not only temporal things but temporal affections, not only temporal affections but the very taint and smell of time.

el tiempo es lo que evita que la luz nos alcance. No hay mayor obstáculo para Dios que el tiempo: y no solo el tiempo sino las temporalidades, no solo las cosas temporales sino los afectos temporales, no solo los afectos temporales sino también la mancha y el olor del tiempo.

وقت یہ ہے کہ ہمیں روشنی تک پہنچنے سے روکا رہتا ہے. وقت کے مقابلے میں خدا کے لئے کوئی بڑی رکاوٹ نہیں ہے: اور نہ صرف وقت لیکن عارضی طور پر، عارضی چیزیں بلکہ عارضی اثرات، نہ صرف عارضی اثرات بلکہ وقت کی بہت خوشگوار اور بو.

时间是让光线无法到达我们的原因。上帝没有比时间更大的障碍：不仅是时间而且是时间性的，不仅是暂时的事物，而是时间的情感，不仅是暂时的感情，还有时间的污点和气味。
