A string of excited, fugitive, miscellaneous pleasures is not happiness happiness resides in imaginative reflection and judgment, when the picture of one's life, or of human life, as it truly has been or is, satisfies the will, and is gladly accepted.
All my life I've been harassed by questions: Why is something this way and not another? How do you account for that? This rage to understand, to fill in the blanks, only makes life more banal. If we could only find the courage to leave our destiny to chance, to accept the fundamental mystery of our lives, then we might be closer to the sort of happiness that comes with innocence.
All that we are is made up of our thoughts; it is founded on our thoughts, it is made up of our thoughts. If a man speak or act with a pure thought, happiness will follow him, like a shadow that never leaves him.
All that we are is the result of what we have thought. If a man speaks or acts with an evil thought, pain follows him. If a man speaks or acts with a pure thought, happiness follows him, like a shadow that never leaves him.
An attitude of gratitude is all about being grateful for all things. Irrespective of whether you are comfortable or not, favourable or not or satisfied or not. It is equally being happy everyday, regardless of your state of health, condition or financial capacity/status. Yes of course, that's what having an attitude of gratitude really means. And in case you don't know. Even the scripture says in (PHILIPIANS 4 : 4) it says, rejoice in the lord always and again I say rejoice, let your joyfulness and happiness be made known to all. Now, that is to say evidently and of a truth, you've got to imbibe and portray an attitude of gratitude. No matter what you are going through presently. Lest you forget, an attitude of gratitude if/when imbibed and portrayed wholeheartedly, will determine your altitude at the long run. Oh! yes, resolving to become and remain grateful will surely pay you off sooner or later in life.
Anguish of mind has driven thousands to suicide; anguish of body, none. This proves that the health of the mind is of far more consequence to our happiness, than the health of the body, although both are deserving of much more attention than either of them receive.
As death, when we come to consider it closely, is the true goal of our existence, I have formed during the last few years such close relations with this best and truest friend of mankind, that his image is not only no longer terrifying to me, but is indeed very soothing and consoling And I thank my God for graciously granting me the opportunity...of learning that death is the key which unlocks the door to our true happiness.
