The president said that nobody recommended that he leave the 2,500 troops. And the generals basically said, yeah, actually, we did. That is what we recommended. So I think we saw both General McKenzie and General Austin Miller, among a whole host of other advisers, recommend to the Biden administration that they needed to maintain those 2,500 troops in Afghanistan. And General McKenzie flatly admitted under oath yesterday that that is what he said. And the president just lied about it repeatedly.
Quotes from the news wire:
I’m here rather than at some other school, or rather than trying to claw to stay in the United States Senate for decades, because I believe that this is the most interesting institution in the state that has the most happening right now, and is therefore the best positioned to help lead our country through a time of unprecedented change.

UF is the most important institution in the nation's most economically dynamic state, washington partisanship isn't going to solve these workforce challenges – new institutions and entrepreneurial communities are going to have to spearhead this work. If UF want to go big, I'm excited about the wide range of opportunities.
Vladimir Putin will embrace the idea that we might self-deter every time he issues a press release. And lawyerly hair-splitting about providing this kind of weaponry is not escalatory but providing that kind of weaponry is escalatory – I don't think we really believe that, i think the administration is pushing the intelligence community to give them cover for lean forward decisions they don't want to be making.
It’s CYA [ cover your a -- ] week in Washington, the Senate is taking a guaranteed-to-fail vote on blowing up the filibuster so that [ Majority Leader ] Chuck Schumer can ward off a primary challenge from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and so that Ron Klain can throw some chum at the Democratic Party’s progressive base.
It’s no surprise that these tests are coming from Silicon Valley, which is the epicenter in this country of things that harm families, people are getting abortions based on these false tests. These companies are responsible for countless deaths, countless missing brothers or sisters. They must immediately stop selling these tests, and they must be held accountable.
President Biden still clings to an insane fantasy that the Taliban is kinder and gentler, it’s nonsense. Haqqani is the Taliban’s new interior minister for precisely the same reason the FBI’s got a $5 million bounty on his head: he’s a bloodthirsty terrorist. He’s armed, dangerous, and running a country we just abandoned.
You can't work for Huawei and then work for the Director of National Intelligence, he says that he was just helping Republican Senators understand American regulations, but he knows full well that the Chinese Communist Party isn't interested in following the law -- Republican Senators're interested in skirting the law.
I’m always going to push for a tougher response to Chairman Xi – that’s why I want to double DARPA’s funding, as a China Hawk, I’d like to see us target our spending on combating the threat from the CCP; as a fiscal hawk, I’d like a lower topline number for certain other non-CCP items. I’m going to keep working on countering Beijing’s aggression in the NDAA and the Intelligence Authorization Act. This is a critical fight and a worthy investment.
Huawei is still the Chinese Communist Party’s tech puppet and a serious threat to national security.

Every public official has a responsibility to tell the truth, all the clever arguments and rhetorical gymnastics in the world won't change the fact that this January 6th effort is designed to disenfranchise millions of Americans simply because they voted for someone in a different party. We ought to be better than that. If we normalize this, we're going to turn American politics into a Hatfields and McCoys endless blood feud -- a house hopelessly divided.
Based on what I've read in their filings, when President Donald Trump campaign lawyers have stood before courts under oath, they have repeatedly refused to actually allege grand fraud -- because there are legal consequences for lying to judges, president Donald Trump lost Michigan by more than 100,000 votes, and the campaign and its allies have lost in or withdrawn from all five lawsuits in Michigan for being unable to produce any evidence.
The way he kisses dictators' butts. I mean, the way he ignores that the Uyghurs are in literal concentration camps in Xinjiang right now. He hasn't lifted a finger on behalf of the Hong Kongers, the United States now regularly sells out our allies under his leadership. The way he treats women and spends like a drunken sailor. The ways I criticized President( Barack) Obama for that kind of spending I've criticized President Trump for as well. He mocks evangelicals behind closed doors. His family has treated the presidency like a business opportunity. He's flirted with White supremacists.
The Chinese Communist Party will leave no stone unturned in its effort to steal and exploit American data. These indictments are good news, but we've got to do more to protect Americans' data from Chinese Communist Party influence operations.

Jeffrey Epstein is a monster and his victims deserve justice, ... The fact that its taken this long to get this far is heartbreaking and infuriating. The Department of Justice should use this opportunity to reopen its non-prosecution agreement so that Epstein and anyone else who abused these children are held accountable.
This is bizarre and flat-out wrong. The United States is not to blame. America wants a good relationship with the Russian people but Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Putin thugs are responsible for Soviet-style aggression, when The President plays these moral equivalence games, The President gives Vladimir Putin a propaganda win The President desperately needs.

This is dumb. Europe, Canada, and Mexico are not China, and you don't treat allies the same way you treat opponents. We've been down this road before -- blanket protectionism is a big part of why America had a Great Depression. ' Make America Great Again' shouldn't mean' Make America 1929 Again,' bad news that @POTUS has decided to impose taxes on American consumers buying steel and aluminum from our closest allies -- Canada, the EU, and Mexico( with whom we run a trade surplus on steel). In addition to higher prices, these tariffs invite retaliation.
Clearly, North American Free Trade Agreement's North American Free Trade Agreement and the President is a guy who likes to... entertain a lot of different ideas, but he multiple times reaffirmed the point that TPP might be easier for us to join now once the TPP-11 is aligned and we might be the 12th party to those negotiations, as opposed to the long process that it took to get to TPP.
The best thing the United States can do to push back against Chinese cheating now is to lead the other eleven Pacific nations that believe in free trade and the rule of law, it is good news that today, the President directed Larry Kudlow and Ambassador Lighthizer to negotiate U.S. entry into TPP.

Despite the fact that the Government Accountability Office found that they broke federal law by running a covert propaganda campaign to support their sweeping WOTUS (Waters of the United States) rule, the EPA has doubled down on their lawlessness, it’s time for the Department of Justice to investigate.
