Quotes from the news wire:
With the intended nomination of Ketanji Brown Jackson, Joe Biden has made it clear that his top priority is paying back the left-wing dark money network that spent over one billion dollars to help elect him and Senate Democrats, before he was elected, Biden campaigned on the promise of unity and moderation. But since taking office, he has continued to deliver radical extremism.
At the end of the day the most important thing is how that person approaches the law, not what their personal style is, the Democrat short listers are ones who are going to be uniform in the way they are going to vote on the court.

Anyone who says originalism is rooted in White supremacy has it backwards, the three Reconstruction Amendments to the Constitution were meant to eliminate White supremacy in the law.It was by departing from that meaning that the late 19th century/early 20th century Court became an enabler of Jim Crow.
The Constitution doesn't say anything one way or the other about abortion, which means it's left to the states, there's no way for them [justices] to get away from dealing with the real underlying question: is abortion really in the text of the Constitution itself? And if not, then why are we as judges making these calls, and why don't we leave it to America's representatives?
Look, he didn't know Bill Pryor and Diane Sykes but he had a legal team around him that knew how to identify people would be good candidates, he had named names before someone like [ Texas Senator and 2016 presidential candidate ] Ted Cruz, who I'm sure personally knows both those people and could have named off them off the top of his head.

When Thomas took the bench, Justice Scalia felt like he was the first line of reinforcement after years of fighting alone in the trenches to defend the original understanding of the Constitution, neither Justice Samuel Alito, nor Chief Justice John Roberts have the same level of commitment to the theory.
This President has been brazen about his willingness to take action that is normally reserved to Congress, the fact that the Court added the constitutional question means that some justices recognized that this is not a run of the mill act of prosecutorial discretion, but a novel and controversial power grab.
What Justice Scalia is referring to is the 'mismatch theory' popularized by Stuart Taylor and Richard Sander in their book, the idea is that if a student is admitted to a school they are not academically prepared for then they will not perform up to their own potential. This is a theory -- contested of course -- but I don't want people to get the idea that it means that all black students are not as smart as white students, or even that they are not as well prepared across the board.
