Edgar Chagwa Lungu is the 6th President of the Republic of Zambia. He took over office after President Micheal Sata on the 24th of January 2015. He held two portfolios in the past government as Justice and Defence Minister and is recognized as president of the ruling Patriotic Front by the dominant faction of the party, which also has adopted him as PF candidate for the presidential by-election in January 2015.
