If you just say' Well, vote,' and you don't explain any of the other stuff, people are going to be furious because they have voted, we have not done a good job in my mind as Democrats, as a country of actually explaining the structural problem with the Senate and the filibuster and if you don't do that, it's to the Republicans' benefit because they can do exactly what they've been doing, which is hold up everything and then blame Democrats.

The reality is that while talks around the infrastructure bill lasted months in the Senate, there has only been serious discussion around the specifics of the larger Build Back Better Act in recent weeks, thanks to Congressional Progressive Caucus holding the line and putting both parts of the agenda back on the table, now, Congress needs to finish the job and bring both bills to a vote together.

And there's been really no negotiation on the Build Back Better Act.
Let's just wait, this is a negotiation and we've got to continue to move this forward, but The Hyde Amendment is something that the majority of the country does not support, one in four women have had an abortion and need to have reproductive care in a very, very important time when those protections are being rolled back. That is nobody's business. It is our business as people that carry the babies. And you know, we have to be able to make the choices during our pregnancy.
Two years ago, I decided to tell my story as a member of Congress because I was so deeply concerned about the abortion ban legislation that was coming out from states across the country. [D]espite the fact that we believe any weakening of the House provisions were bad policy and bad politics, the reality is that the final amendments were relatively minor concessions, the American Rescue Plan has retained its core bold, progressive elements originally proposed by President Joe Biden and passed in the House relief package.
Last session, the people's house, with Chairman Scott and Speaker [ Nancy ] Pelosi in the leadership passed the' Raise the Wage Act' and we're ready to do it again, and now, we have a President Biden who believes that we should pass a $ 15 minimum wage and a Senate led by Democrats ready to work for the people.

Bernie Sanders on Monday has consistently and recently multiple times said he doesn't want these kinds of people in the movement, but to focus on these folks really erases women and folks of color and the tens of millions of people who literally bring an incredible energy everywhere they go... These women of color, black and brown folks, don't deserve to have Bloomberg paint us and stereotype us in this way.
The attorney general has made it clear -- through his broad support for sweeping presidential power and authority and his past criticism of the special counsel's inquiry -- that he is not an unbiased participant. It is, therefore, even more urgent that Congress immediately receive the full report and all the underlying documentation and evidence so that we can make our own determinations.
I think it is absolutely unacceptable to see the racism and hatred coming out of the White House, the way in which this president is fueling the flames of divisiveness across the country.
