A Democrat, she represents the 16th Assembly District, which encompasses Lamorinda and the Tri-Valley region of the San Francisco Bay Area.Bauer-Kahan was first elected to the State Assembly in November 2018 after narrowly defeating the previous incumbent, moderate Republican Catharine Baker.
