Kim M. Janey (born May 16, 1965) is an American politician who is currently serving as the City Council President and Acting Mayor of Boston. She is the first woman and first black person to serve as mayor of the city. She has been a member of the Boston City Council since January 2018, representing District 7 (includes Roxbury, with parts of the South End, Dorchester, and Fenway), and was selected as president of the Council in January 2020.
