Avatar: The Last Airbender

Katara:
[opening narration] Water... Earth... Fire... Air. Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could stop them. But when the world needed him most, he vanished. A hundred years passed and my brother and I discovered the new Avatar, an airbender named Aang. And although his airbending skills are great, he still has a lot to learn before he's ready to save anyone. But I believe Aang can save the world.

Female Airbender:
Choose well, a sky bison is a companion for life.

Aang:
[First meeting with Appa] I guess this means we'll always be together.

Suki:
No sudden movements. He's been lost for awhile and he look like he's hurt. He's shy around people and scared. Stay low and stay quiet.

Kyoshi Warrior:
I can't believe you found the Avatar's bison. Didn't you just see the Avatar a few days ago?

Suki:
Yes. So he can't be too far from here. It's our responsibility to get Appa back to him safely. This could be our most *important* mission yet.

Suki:
[Pulling out their fans] What do you want with us?

Azula:
Who are you? The Avatar's fan girls.

Ty Lee:
Oh. I get it. Good one, Azula.

Azula:
No Avatar, huh? Any friend of the Avatar is an ENEMY of mine!

Guru Pathik:
I know I am not the person you expected. And I didn't expect to be licked by a giant tongue just now. Ah, the world is full of surprises.

Guru Pathik:
Oh dear, you've been through so much recently. Hurt and betrayed. So twisted up inside. You're still full of love, but fear has moved in where trust should be. I've been expecting you and the young Avatar for quite a long time. I had a vision many years ago of helping him. That's why I came to the Eastern Air Temple. Oh your emotions are so turbulent, like swirling storm clouds. Let the clouds in your mind be gentle peaceful ones.

Guru Pathik:
You and the Avatar's energies are mixed. You have an unbreakable bond. By reading your energy, I can sense where Aang is. [Appa licks Pathik] Funny what invisible strings connect us all.

Sokka:
Wait! My boomerang!

Katara:
There's no time!

Sokka:
Oh, I see. There's time to get your scrolls and your staff and no time for my boomerang?

Katara:
That's correct.

Sokka:
Oh.

Katara:
Honorable Mayor, we've prepared a solid defense for the Avatar. We did an investigation and found some very strong evidence.

Mayor Tong:
Evidence? Hmph! That's not how our court system works!

Aang:
Then how can I prove my innocence?

Mayor Tong:
Simple! I say what happened, then you say what happened, then *I* decide who's right. That's why we call it "justice," because it's "just us."

Sokka:
What are you doing?

Katara:
Well, she is Aang's past life. Maybe wearing her stuff will trigger something.

Sokka:
I *do* belive in the power of stuff...

Sokka:
Boomerang! You *do* always come back!

Aang:
Having a huge festival in your honor is great. But frankly, it's just nice to be appreciated.

Mayor Tong:
You'll have to follow *all* our rules. That includes paying bail.

Aang:
No problem. [Cut to Aang in jail] How was I supposed to know they wouldn't take Water Tribe money?

Sokka:
[to Aang] So some people don't like you. Big deal. There's a whole nation of firebenders who *hate* you. Now let's bust you out of here.

Sokka:
So, uh, what's Suki up to? Is she around?

Oyaji:
Actually she and the other warriors left to fight in the war. You kids had a big impact on Suki. She said that you inspired her, that she wanted to help change the world.

Sokka:
Oh, well, that's great.

Prince Zuko:
There's no honor for me without the Avatar.

Uncle Iroh:
Zuko. [Uncle sighs] Even if you did capture the Avatar, I'm not so sure it would solve our problems. Not now.

Prince Zuko:
Then there's no hope at all.

Uncle Iroh:
No! Zuko! You must never give into dispair. Allow yourself to slip down that road and you surrender to your lowest instincts. In the darkest times, hope is something you give yourself. That is the meaning of inner strength.

Aang:
So... what just happened?

Katara:
Uh, you kind of confessed. Sorry.

Prince Zuko:
Uncle, I thought a lot about what you said.

Uncle Iroh:
You did? Good. Good.

Prince Zuko:
It helped me to realize something. We no longer have anything to gain by travelling together. I need to find my own way.

Aang:
[Trying to get Sokka to help solve his case] That's okay, Sokka. For some reason, I thought you were an expert detective.

Sokka:
[Self-importantly] Well, I guess I could be classified as such.

Katara:
[Playing along] Yeah! Back home he was famous for solving the mystery of the missing seal jerky.

Sokka:
Everyone wanted to blame it on a polar leopard, but I figured out that it was Old Man Jarco wearing polar leopard boots. See, a real eight hundred pound polar leopard would have left much deeper tracks. Okay, I guess I am pretty good.

Mayor Tong:
[after Colonel Mongke invades the town] You! Avatar! Do something!

Aang:
Gee, I'd love to help, but I'm supposed to be boiled in oil.

Mayor Tong:
[Spins the punishment wheel to the community service wedge and stops it there] There! "Community service." Now serve our community and get rid of those rhinos!

Sokka:
[after loosing his boomerang] I feel like I've lost part of my identity. Imagine if you lost your arrow, or if Katara lost her... [tries to think of something]... hair loopies. [Walking up to a merchant's stall]

Merchant:
Here's your produce, ponytail guy.

Sokka:
[Dejected] I used to be boomerang guy...

Mayor Tong:
From now on, we'll celebrate a new Avatar Day in honor of the day Avatar Aang saved us from the Rough Rhino Invasion.

Sokka:
[Hands a bowl to the kids] What is this?

Mayor Tong:
That's our new festival food: unfried dough. May we eat it [turns to address the crowd] and be reminded of how on this day the Avatar was not boiled in oil.

Katara:
[Halfheartedly] Happy Avatar Day, everyone.

Sokka:
This is by far the worst town we've ever been to.

Katara:
[to Appa after arriving at Roku's teple] Aww, you must be tired.

Sokka:
No! I'm good! refreshed and ready to fight some firebenders!

Katara:
I was talking to Appa.

Sokka:
Well, I was talking... to Momo!

Katara:
Sokka, you're a genius!

Aang:
How is Sokka a genius? His plan didn't even work.

Sokka:
Come on, Aang. Let her dream.

Katara:
You're right. Sokka's plan didn't work. But it looks like it did.

Aang:
Did the definition of "genius" change in the last hundred years?

Katara:
The world can't afford to lose you to the Fire Nation, Aang. And neither can I.

Aang:
Let's go, Appa. Come on, boy. Look, I'm sorry but Katara and Sokka aren't coming to the Fire Nation with us. If they got hurt, I'd never forgive myself. SO GET YOUR BIG BUTT OFF THE GROUND AND LET'S GO! [Remains on the ground]

Sokka:
I think his big butt is trying to tell you something.

Katara:
We're not letting you go into the Fire Nation, Aang!

Sokka:
At least not without your friends. We got your back.

Prince Zuko:
I'm chasing the Avatar. My father will understand why I'm returning home.

Uncle Iroh:
You give him too much credit. My brother is not the understanding type.

Uncle Iroh:
Really Prince Zuko, couldn't you shoot them down with something more fragrant.

Aang:
This is *exactly* why I didn't want you to come. It's too dangerous!

Katara:
And that's *exactly* why we're here!

Sokka:
Let's run this blockade!

Aang:
Follow me.

Sokka:
Do you know where you're going?

Aang:
Nope! [Make quick turn. Then comes running back] WRONG WAY!

Shyu:
Things have changed. In the past, the sages were loyal only to the Avatar. When Roku died, the sages eagerly waited for the next Avatar to return... but he never came.

Aang:
They were waiting for me.

Sokka:
Hey, don't feel bad. You were only a hundred years late.

Avatar Roku:
It's good to see you, Aang. What took you so long?

Avatar Roku:
Listen carefully, Souzin's Comet will return by the end of this summer. And Fire Lord Ozai will use its power to finish the war once and for all. If he succeeds, even the Avatar won't be able to restore balance to the world. Aang, you must defeat the Fire Lord *before* the comet arrives.

Aang:
But I haven't even started learning water bending. Not to mention Earth and Fire.

Avatar Roku:
Mastering the Elements takes years of discipline and practice. But if the world is to survive you must do it by summer's end.

Prince Zuko:
Now would you please put on some clothes?

Aang:
[excitedly after escaping the Fire Navy fleet] We did it!

Sokka:
[scared to death] We got into the Fire Nation... Great!

Great Sage:
We are the Fire Sages. Guardians of the temple of the Avatar.

Aang:
Great! I am the Avatar.

Great Sage:
We know [shoot fireballs at Aang]

Katara:
How's Aang going to make it out of this?

Sokka:
How're *we* going to make it out of this?

Commander Zhao:
[angrily] No prince. No Avatar. Apparently the only thing I do have is five traitors.

Great Sage:
[timidly] But Commander, only Shyu helped the Avatar.

Commander Zhao:
Save your stories for the Fire Lord. As far as I'm concerned, you're all guilty! Take them to the prison hold!

Prince Zuko:
[shoving a barfly aside] Out of my way! Step aside, filth!

Uncle Iroh:
He means no offense! I'm certain you bathe regularly.

Aunt Wu:
Care to hear your fortune, handsome?

Uncle Iroh:
[smiling] At my age, there is really only one big surprise left, and I'd just as soon leave it a mystery.

Prince Zuko:
[showing Jun Katara's necklace] I need you to find someone.

June:
What happened? Your girlfriend run off on ya'?

Prince Zuko:
It's not the girl I'm looking for...

Prince Zuko:
How stupid do you think I am?

Sokka:
Pretty stupid.

[Sokka has been temporarily paralyzed]

Sokka:
I'm starting to get some feeling back!

[part of a wall collapses on him]

Sokka:
Ow.

Sokka:
[In a flashback] I'm coming with you.

Hakoda:
You're not old enough to go to war, Sokka. You know that.

Sokka:
I'm strong. I'm brave. I can fight. *Please*, dad?

Hakoda:
Being a man is knowing where you're needed the most. And for you, right now,that's here protecting your sister.

Sokka:
Perfume? Maybe we should dump some on Appa. Because he stinks so much. Am I right?

Bato:
...You have your father's wit.

Katara:
Bato, it looks like home.

Sokka:
Everything's here, even the pelts.

Aang:
Yeah, nothing's cozier than dead animal skin.

Uncle Iroh:
Plus we'll pay your weight in gold.

June:
Make it *your* weight, and we've got a deal.

Uncle Iroh:
[laughing] You got it.

Bato:
And for Aang, the mark of the trusted. You are now an honorary member of the Water Tribe.

Aang:
[Wipes the mark off his forehead] I can't.

Katara:
Of course you can.

Aang:
No. You can't trust me.

Sokka:
We need to go back. I want to see dad, but... helping Aang is where we're needed the most.

Katara:
You're right.

Bato:
Your father will understand. And I *know* he's proud of you.

Superior:
The beast was using the scent of a necklace to follow you.

Aang:
A necklace? [Aang gaspss] Katara!

June:
[to Zuko about Katara] So this is your girlfriend. No wonder she left. She's way too pretty for you.

Sokka:
That thing sees with its nose. Let's give him something to look at.

Superior:
The perfume?

Prince Zuko:
[Zuko and June are paralyzed] Uncle? I didn't see you get hit with the tongue.

Uncle Iroh:
Shh. [June glares at Iroh]

Aang:
Don't you want to see your father?

Sokka:
Of course we do, Aang. But you're our family too. And right now, you need us more.

Katara:
And we need you.

Katara:
[Referring to her necklace] Aang! How'd you get that?

Aang:
Zuko asked me to be sure I got it to you.

Katara:
Aw, how sweet of Zuko. Would you give him a kiss for me when you see him?

Aang:
Sure.

Sokka:
Was it you or Dad that put an octopus on your head and convinced Gran-Gran you were a water spirit?

Bato:
Your dad wore the octopus, but [In a sinister tone] I did the spooky voice.

Herbalist:
Out for a bit of fresh air, are we?

Prince Zuko:
We're looking for someone.

Herbalist:
I hope it's not Miyuki. [Looking down at her cat] Miyuki, did you get in trouble with the Fire Nation again?

Uncle Iroh:
[Drawing the Fire Nation symbol in the dirt] Fire is the element of power. The people of the Fire Nation have desire and will, and the energy and drive to achieve what they want. [Drawing the Earth Kingdom symbol]

Uncle Iroh:
Earth is the element of substance. The people of the Earth Kingdom are diverse and strong. They are persistent and enduring. [Drawing the Air Nomad symbol]

Uncle Iroh:
Air is the element of freedom. The Air Nomads detached themselves from worldly concerns, and they found peace and freedom. [pause]

Uncle Iroh:
And they apparently had great senses of humor. [Drawing the Water Tribe symbol]

Uncle Iroh:
Water is the element of change. The people of the Water Tribes are capable of adapting to many things. They have a sense of community and love that holds them together through anything.

Prince Zuko:
Why are you teaching me these things?

Uncle Iroh:
It is important to draw wisdom from different places. If you take it from only one place it become rigid and stale. [he draws straight lines separating the four symbols] Understanding others, the other elements, the other nations, will help you become whole. [he draws a circle around the whole, uniting the four symbols into one]

Prince Zuko:
All this four elements talk, is sounding like Avatar stuff.

Uncle Iroh:
It is the combination of the four elements in one person that makes the Avatar so powerful. But it can make you more powerful too.

Prince Zuko:
But I don't feel any shame at all! I'm as proud as ever!

Uncle Iroh:
Prince Zuko, pride is not the opposite of shame, but its source. True humility is the only antidote to shame.

Prince Zuko:
Well, my life has nothing but humbling lately...

Sokka:
[to Aang about the cute animal] Hello Aang, I want you to meet my new friend. Aang, Foo-foo-cuddly-poops, Foo-foo-cuddly-poops, Aang.

Aang:
[picking the animal up] Aaaaaw, that's a cute name for a Saber-toothed moose-lion cub.

Sokka:
[hunting a cute baby animal] You're awfully cute. But unfortunately for you, you're made of meat.

Prince Zuko:
[shouting out at skies during a thunderstorm] You've always thrown everything you could at me! Well I can take it! And now I can give it back! Come on! Strike me! You've never held back before!

[pause before he falls to his knees and breaks down in tears]

Prince Zuko:
[about Azula] I know what you're going to say. She's my sister, and I should be trying to get along with her.

Uncle Iroh:
No, she's crazy, and she needs to go down.

Toph:
Good morning, earthbending student.

Aang:
Good morning, Seefu Toph.

Katara:
Hey. You've never called me "Seefu Katara."

Aang:
Well, if you think I should...

Toph:
The key to earthbending is your stance, you've got to be steady and strong. Rock is a stubborn element. If you're going to move it, you've got to be like a rock yourself.

Sokka:
[after Aang fails to move a boulder] Rock beats airbender.

Prince Zuko:
Uncle you were unconscious. Azula did this to you. It was a surprise attack.

Uncle Iroh:
Somehow that's not so surprising.

Aang:
Maybe there's another way. What if I came at the boulder from a different angle.

Toph:
No! That's the problem. You've got to stop thinking like an airbender. There's no different angle, no clever solution, trickety-trick that's going to move that rock. You've got to face it head on. And when I say head on, I mean like THIS!

Uncle Iroh:
Lightning is a pure expression of firebending without aggression. It is not fueled by rage or emotion the way other firebending is. Some call lightning the cold-blooded fire. It is precise and deadly like Azula. To perform the technique requires peace of mind.

Toph:
This time we're going to try something a little different. Instead of moving a rock. You're going to stop a rock. Get in your horse stance. [Aang assumes his stance] I'm going to roll that boulder down at you. If you have the *attitude* of an earthbender, you'll stay in your stance and stop the rock like THIS! [Toph demonstrates the stance]

Katara:
Sorry, Toph. But are you sure this is really the best way to teach Aang earthbending.

Toph:
I'm glad you said something. Actually there is a better way. [Toph blindfolds Aaang] This way you'll really have to sense the vibrations of the boulder to stop it. Thank you, Katara.

Aang:
Yeah. Thanks Katara. [Katara chuckles slightly]

Katara:
Aang, if fire and water are opposites. Then what's the opposite of air?

Aang:
I guess it's earth.

Katara:
That's why it's so hard for you to get this. You're working with your natural opposite. But you'll figure it out. I know you will... Think fast! [Katara launches some reeds at Aang. Aang splits the reeds] You have the relexes of a waterbending master.

Aang:
Thanks Katara. Seefu Katara.

Prince Zuko:
[while his uncle is teaching firebending, and he gives Zuko a cup of tea] I see. That's why we're drinking tea: To calm the mind.

Uncle Iroh:
Oh yeah, good point! I mean, yes.

Uncle Iroh:
There is energy all around us. The energy is both yin and yang; positive energy and negative energy. [He holds up one finger on each hand to stand for the two forms of energy] . Only a select few firebenders can separate these energies. This creates an imbalance. The energy wants to restore balance and in a moment the positive and negative energy come crashing back together. [He brings his hands together to illustrate the point] You provide release and guidance, creating lightning. [Shows Zuko]

Prince Zuko:
I'm ready to try it!

Uncle Iroh:
Remember, once you separate the energy, you do not command it. You are simply its humble guide. Breathe first.

Sokka:
[while stuck in a crevice in the ground, talking the animal he was hunting] You probably think I deserve this, don't you? [the baby mooselion peers over Sokka's forehead and looks at him] Look, I'm sorry I hunted you, but that's just the natural order of things! Big things eat smaller things, nothing personal. But this time it didn't work out that way. [the baby yawns and then walks in a circle on Sokka's head before lying down again and closing its eyes] I admit it. You're cute. [the mooselion begins licking its paws] Okay, you've convinced me. If I get out of this alive, it's a comically correct vegetarian existence for me. No meat. Even though meat is so tasty.

Sokka:
[Still stuck in the crevice] Okay, karma person or thing, whoever's in charge of this stuff, if I can just get out of this situation alive, I will give up meat and sarcasm. Okay? OW! [the band holding Sokka's hair in the ponytail comes off after a strong tug by the baby mooselion and Sokka's hair becomes a fuzzy mess] That's all I got! It's pretty much my whole identity! Sokka, the meat and sarcasm guy! But I'm willing to be Sokka the veggies and straight talk fellow!... Deal?

Sokka:
[Aang appears] Aang! Thank goodness! Have you got any meat?

Sokka:
If you can't earthbend me out of here, go get Toph.

Aang:
I can't do that either.

Sokka:
You can't? Why not?

Aang:
It would just be really... uncomfortable.

Sokka:
Uncomfortable? [Cut to a close-up of Sokka in the crevice] Well, I wouldn't want to make you feel uncomfortable.

Aang:
Thanks, Sokka. This whole earthbending thing really has me confused. There's so much pressure. Everyone expects me to get it right away. It puts me in a really awkward position.

Sokka:
Awkward position... I think I know the feeling.

Aang:
If I try, I fail. But if I don't try, I'm never going to get it. I feel like I'm caught between a rock and a hard place.

Sokka:
Hmm. How about that.

Uncle:
Prince Zuko, pride is not the opposite of shame, but it's source. True humility is the only antidote to shame.

Sokka:
Aang! Have you got any meat?

Prince Zuko:

Uncle:
No. She's crazy, and she needs to go down.

Toph:
Yeah, whatever, go splash around until you feel better.

Sokka:
Well, if you can't earthbend me out of here, go get Toph.

Aang:
I can't do that either.

Sokka:
You can't? Why not?

Aang:
It would just be really uncomfortable.

Sokka:
Uncomfortable? Well, I wouldn't want you to feel uncomfortable.

Aang:
Thanks, Sokka. This whole earthbending thing really has me confused. There's so much pressure. Everyone expects me to get it right away. It puts me in a really awkward position.

Sokka:

Aang:

Sokka:

Prince Zuko:
This city is a prison. I don't want to make a life here.

Uncle Iroh:
Life happens wherever you are, whether you make it or not.

Uncle Iroh:
Euch! This tea is nothing more than hot leaf juice!

Prince Zuko:
Uncle, that's what ALL tea is.

Uncle Iroh:
How could a member of my own family say something so horrible!

Officer:
This is the best tea in the city.

Uncle Iroh:
The secret ingredient is love!

Uncle Iroh:
Would you like a pot of tea?

Prince Zuko:
We've been working in a tea shop all day. I'm sick of tea!

Uncle Iroh:
Sick of tea? That's like being sick of *breathing*!

Katara:
I can't believe we finally made it to Ba Sing Se in one piece.

Sokka:
Hey, don't jinx it. We could still be attacked by some giant exploding Fire Nation spoon, or find out the city's been submerged in an ocean full of killer shrimp.

Toph Beifong:
You been hitting the cactus juice again?

Sokka:
I'm just saying weird stuff happens to us.

Sokka:
[about Joo Dee] Is that woman deaf? She only seems to hear every other word I say.

Toph Beifong:
It's called being handled. Get used to it.

Joo Dee:
More good news. Your request for an audience with the Earth King is being processed and should be put through in a month. Much more quickly than usual.

Sokka:
A month?

Joo Dee:
Six to eight weeks actually.

Pao:
Shh. Shh. Listen, you can't mention the war here. And whatever you do, stay away from the Dai Li!

Katara:
The palace will be packed. We can sneak in with the crowd.

Toph Beifong:
Won't work.

Katara:
Why not?

Toph Beifong:
Well, no offense to you simple country folk, but a *real* society crowd would spot you a mile away. You've got no manners.

Katara:
Excuse me? I've got no manners? You're not exactly lady fancy fingers!

Toph Beifong:
[Toph burps] I learned proper society behavior and *chose* to leave it. You never learned anything, and frankly, it's a little too late now.

Jet:
[Trying to expose Iroh as a firebender] You'll have to defend yourself. Then everyone will know! Show them what you can do.

Prince Zuko:
[Zuko holds back a Dai Li agent] You want a show? [Zuko draws out his swords] I'll give you a show!

Long Feng:
Until now, you've been treated as our honored guests. But from now on, you will be watched every moment by Dai Li Agents. If you mention the war to anyone, you will be expelled from the city. I understand you've been looking for your bison, it would be quite a shame if you were not able to complete your quest. Now Joo Dee will show you home.

Joo Dee:
Hello, my name is Joo Dee. I have been given the great honor of showing the Avatar around Ba Sing Se. And you must be Sokka, Katara, and Toph. Welcome to our wonderful city. Shall we get started?

Sokka:
Yes. We have information about the Fire Nation army that we need to deliver to the Earth King immediately.

Joo Dee:
Great, let's begin our tour. And then I'll show you to your new home here. I think you'll like it. [Joo Dee turns around and attempts to lead Aang and his friends]

Sokka:
Augh! Maybe you missed what I said. We need to talk to the King about the war, it's important.

Joo Dee:
You're in Ba Sing Se now. Everyone is safe here. [Everyone has a confused look on their face in reaction to Joo Dee's odd statement] .

Joo Dee:
This is the lower ring.

Katara:
What's that wall for?

Joo Dee:
Oh, Ba Sing Se has many walls. There are the ones outside protecting us, and the one's inside that help maintain order. This is where our newest arrivals live, as well as our craftsman and artisans, people that work with their hands. It's so quaint and lively. [Cut to a shot of two shady men conversing in an alley. One of them is holding a large sword that glistens in the light. Both glare at the carriage as it passes] You do want to watch your step though.

Katara:
Why do they have all these poor people blocked off in one part of the city?

Aang:
This is why I never came here before. I always heard it was so different from the way the monks taught us to live.

Joo Dee:
This is the middle ring of Ba Sing Se, home to the financial district, shops and restaurants and the university.

Sokka:
Yeah, we met a Professor from Ba Sing Se University. He took us to an ancient underground library where we discovered information about the war that is [Speaking with emphasis] absolutely crucial for the King to hear!

Joo Dee:
[Cheerfully] Isn't history fascinating? Look, here's one of the oldest buildings in the middle ring, Town Hall.

Katara:
I've got it! I know how we're gonna see the Earth King!

Toph Beifong:
How are we supposed to do that? [Mimicking Joo Dee] "One doesn't just pop in on the Earth King".

Katara:
The King is having a party at the palace tonight for his pet bear.

Aang:
You mean Platypus-Bear?

Katara:
[Duly] No, it just says "Bear".

Sokka:
Certainly you mean his pet Skunk-Bear.

Toph Beifong:

[Awkward pause as Katara waits for a laugh]

Aang:

Katara:

Katara:

Sokka:
Kind of makes you realize hwo insignificant we are.

Toph Beifong:
Eh. You've seen nothing once, you've seen it a thousand times. [ Aang, Katara and Sokka gasp]

Sokka:

Aang:
These people have no idea how close they were to getting toasted last night.

Toph Beifong:
Yeah. The worst thing about being in disguise is we don't get the hero worship any more. I miss the love.

Sokka:

Piandao:

Sokka:

Piandao:

Sokka:

Toph Beifong:

Katara:

Piandao:

Piandao:
[Looks around and Sokka holds up his painting] You added a rainbow...

Sokka:
[Innocently, looking at his painting] Is that okay?

Piandao:

Sokka:
[Skeptical] Writing my name will make me a better swordsman?

Piandao:

Toph Beifong:

Katara:

Aang:

Sokka:

Aang:

Toph Beifong:
I'm tapped out. I already picked my toes, twice.

Aang:

Toph Beifong:
The first time was for cleaning, but the second time's just for the sweet picking sensation.

Katara:
You know, I don't think there's such a thing as "space earth." If it's from space, then it's not really 'earth'.

Sokka:
Must you ruin everything.

Katara:
I can't believe I missed you.

Sokka:
It's just... all you guys can do this awesome bending stuff Like putting out forest fires, and flying around, and making other stuff fly around. I can't fly around, ok [sadly] I can't do anything.

Toph Beifong:
That's not true. No one can read a map like you.

Toph Beifong:
[chiming in] I can't read at all.

Aang:
Yeah, and who keeps us laughing with sarcastic comments all the time I mean, look at Katara's hair, right [grabs a lock of Katara's hair and gestures to it] What's up with that?

Katara:

[after Aang disappears] What should we do, Zuko?

Prince Zuko:
I don't know. [they all stare at him] Why are you all looking at me like that?

Katara:
Well, you *are* kind of an expert at tracking Aang.

Katara:
Get over here, Zuko. Being part of the group also means being part of group hugs.

Aang:
[about Sokka's sand sculpture] Is that a... blubbering blob monster?

Sokka:
No! It's Suki!

[Aang and Toph laugh]

Toph Beifong:
Suki, we'll all understand if you break up with him over this.

Suki:
I think it's sweet. [Sokka kisses her]

Katara:
What happened?

Sokka:
Zuko's gone crazy! I made a sand sculpture of Suki and he *destroyed* it!... Oh, and he's attacking Aang.

Katara:
What's wrong with you? You could've hurt Aang!

Prince Zuko:
What's wrong with me? What's wrong with all of you? How can you sit around having beach parties when Sozin's Comet is only three days away?... Why are you all looking at me like I'm crazy?

Aang:
About Sozin's Comet... I was actually going to wait to fight the Fire Lord until after it came.

Prince Zuko:

Aang:
I'm not ready. I need more time to master firebending.

Toph Beifong:
And frankly, your earthbending could still use some work.

Katara:
The whole point of fighting the Fire Lord before the comet was to stop the Fire Nation from winning the war. But they pretty much won the war when they took Ba Sing Se. Things can't get any worse.

Prince Zuko:
You're wrong. It's about to get worse than you can even imagine.

Fire Lord Ozai:
Prince Zuko, you've been among the Earth Kingdom commoners. Do you think adding more troops will stop these rebellions?

Prince Zuko:
[pause] The people of the Earth Kingdom are proud, and strong. They can endure anything as long as they have hope.

Fire Lord Ozai:
Yes, you're right. We need to destroy their hope.

Fire Lord Ozai:
When the comet last came, my grandfather, Fire Lord Sozin, used it to wipe out the Air Nomads. Now, I will use its powers to end the Earth Kingdom - permanently. [to Aang] I know you're scared, and I know you're not ready to save the world. But if you don't defeat the Fire Lord before the comet comes, there won't be a world to save anymore.

Katara:
Aang, you don't have to do this alone!

Toph Beifong:
Yeah! If we all fight the Fire Lord together, we've got a shot at taking him down.

Sokka:
All right! Team Avatar is back! Air. Water. Earth. Fire. Fan and sword!

Aang:
Fighting the Fire Lord is going to be the hardes thing we've ever done together. But I wouldn't want to do it any other way.

Aang:
So have you ever redirected lightning before?

Prince Zuko:
Once... against my father.

Aang:
What did it feel like?

Prince Zuko:
Exhilarating... but terrifying. You feel so powerful holding so much energy in your body. But you know if you make the wrong move, it's over.

Aang:
[Nervous chuckle] Well, not *over* over, I mean, there's always Katara and a little spirit water action, am I right?

Katara:
Actually, I used it all up after Azula shot you.

Aang:

Prince Zuko:
You'll have to take the Fire Lord's life, before he takes yours.

Aang:
Yeah. I'll just do that.

Katara:
I have a surprise for everyone!

Toph Beifong:
I knew it! You *did* have a secret thing with Haru!

Katara:
Uh, no. I was looking for cooking pots in the attic, and I found this! [she holds up a painting of a baby] Look at baby Zuko! Isn't he cute? [the others giggle and "aw"; Zuko is silent]

Katara:
[to Zuko] Oh lighten up, I was just teasing.

Prince Zuko:
That's not me. It's my father. [a beat]

Suki:
But he looks so sweet and innocent!

Prince Zuko:
Well, that sweet little kid grew up to be a monster. And the worst father in the history of fathers.

Aang:
This goes against everything I learned from the monks! I can't just go around wiping out people I don't like.

Sokka:
Sure you can. You're the Avatar. If it's the name of keeping balance, I'm pretty sure the universe would forgive you.

Aang:
THIS ISN'T A JOKE, SOKKA! NONE OF YOU UNDERSTANDS THE POSITION I'M IN!

Katara:

Aang:

Katara:

Aang:
Then when you figure out a way for me to beat the Fire Lord without taking his life, I'd love to hear it!

Katara:

Toph Beifong:
I'm going with Zuko! [the rest look at her curiously] What? Everyone else went on a life change field trip with Zuko. Now it's my turn.

Toph Beifong:
Wait. Has anyone noticed that Momo's missing too?

Sokka:
Oh, no! I knew it was only a matter of time! APPA ATE MOMO! [crawling into Appa's mouth] MOMO! I'M COMING FOR YA, BUDDY!

Katara:
Sokka, Appa didn't eat Momo. He's probably with Aang.

Sokka:
That's just what Appa wants you to think! [he squirms further into Appa's mouth]

Prince Zuko:
Get out of the bison's mouth, Sokka! We've got a real problem here. We can't find Aang and Sozin's Comet is only a few days away.

Prince Zuko:
There's one technique you need to know before facing my Father. How to redirect lightning. If you let the energy in your own body flow, [He stretches his left arm out and the fingers on his right hand touch the fingers on his left hand and swiftly traces a path down his arm, shoulder, stomach and back out the other side]... the lightning will follow it. [His left hand touches his right, they are parallel to each other] You turn your opponent's energy against them.

Aang:
That's like waterbending.

Prince Zuko:
Exactly. My Uncle invented this technique himself by studying waterbenders.

Sokka:
[In front of a melon with a face carved into it, which has been placed on top of a stick] Gather round Team Avatar.In order to take out the Fire Lord, or in this case, the "Melon Lord", our timing has to be perfect. First, Suki and I will draw his fire. [Takes a stick and on the ground draws a line curving to the left towards the melon symbol] Then, Katara and Zuko [He draws a straight line in the middle] charge in with some liquidy hot offence and while the "Melon Lord" is distracted, Aang swoops in and "BAM!" [He draws a line curving to the right which runs through the melon symbol] He delivers the final blow.

Toph Beifong:
Err... what about me?

Sokka:
For now, you're the Melon Lord's forces.

Toph Beifong:
So I get to chuck flaming rocks at all of you?

Sokka:
Whatever makes the training feel more realistic.

Toph Beifong:
[Smiles] Sweetness.

Toph Beifong:
[Walking with Zuko, looking for Aang]... And then when I was nine, I ran away again.

Prince Zuko:
[Not really paying attention] Uh-huh.

Toph Beifong:

Prince Zuko:

[he begins to cry]

Prince Zuko:

[Iroh turns and pulls him into a fierce hug]

Prince Zuko:

Prince Zuko:
I did lose my way.

Uncle Iroh:

[they hug]

Sokka:
[about June] Hey, I remember her. She helped you attack us.

Prince Zuko:
Yep. Back in the good old days.

June:
I see you've worked things out with your girlfriend.

Katara:
[Slight pause, then speaking simultaneously with Zuko] I'm not his girlfriend!

Prince Zuko:
She's not my girlfriend!

Prince Zuko:
I need your help finding the Avatar.

June:
Hmph. Doesn't sound too fun.

Prince Zuko:
Does the end of the world sound like more fun?

Prince Zuko:
[as June's tracker lies down] Well, what does that mean?

June:
Means your friend's gone.

Toph:
We know he's gone. That's why we're looking for him.

June:
No, I mean he's gone gone. He doesn't exist.

Toph:

Katara:

Master Pakku:

Aang:
All these past avatar, they keep telling me I have to do it. [Momo chitters] You're right. Maybe an Air Nomad Avatar will understand where I'm coming from. I know you can't really talk. Pretending you can helps me think. [Momo chitters] I'm going to pretend I didn't pretend to hear that.

Aang:
But the monks taught me that I had to detach myself from the world so my spirit could be free.

Avatar Yanchen:
Many great and wise Air Nomads have detached themselved and achived spiritual enlightenment. But the Avatar can *never* do it. Because your sole duty is to the world. Aang:
I guess I have no choice, Momo. I have to kill the Fire Lord.

Lion Turtle:

Bumi:
Wait! Somone's missing from your group. Someone very important... Where's Momo?

Sokka:
He's gone. And so is Aang.

Bumi:
Oh well, so long as they have each other. I'm sure we have nothing to worry about.

Suki:
Wow! You took back your whole city all by yourself.

Bumi:
So, what about you guys? Did you do anything interesting on the day of the eclipse?

Prince Zuko:
[Zuko and Sokka exchange glances] Nah.

Sokka:
No. Not really.

Prince Zuko:
Uncle, you're the only person, other than the Avatar, who can possibly defeat the Father Lord.

Toph:
You mean the "Fire Lord."

Prince Zuko:
That's what I just said!

Uncle Iroh:
Even if I did defeat Ozai, and I don't know if I could, it would be the wrong way to end the war. History would see it as just more senseless violence. A brother killing a brother to grab power. The only way for this was to end peacefully is for the Avatar to defeat the Fire Lord.

Prince Zuko:
And then... then would you come back and take your rightful place on the throne?

Uncle Iroh:
No. Someone new must take the throne. An idealist with a pure heart, and unquestionable honor. It has to be *you*, Prince Zuko.

Prince Zuko:
"Unquestionable honor?" But I've made so many mistakes.

Uncle Iroh:
Yes, you have. You struggled. You suffered. But you have always followed your own path. You've restored your own honor. And only *you* can restore the honor of the Fire Nation.

Prince Zuko:
I can handle Azula.

Uncle Iroh:

Suki:

[after Toph has defeated the ships crew] Good work, Toph. Time to take control of the ship. Take the wheel.

Toph:
[sarcastically] That's a great idea! Let the *blind* girl steer the giant airship.

Sokka:
I was talking to Suki.

Toph:
[beat] That would make a lot more sense.

Azula:
[struggling to put her hair up] All right, hair, it's time to face your doom! [she slashes at her hair with scissors, then grins manically]

Ursa:
[appearing in the mirror] What a shame. You always had such beautiful hair.

Azula:
What are you doing here?

Ursa:
I didn't want to miss my own daughter's coronation.

Azula:
Don't pretend to act proud. I know what you really think of me. You think I'm a monster.

Ursa:

Azula:

We're too late. The Fleet's already taking off.

Toph:

Sokka:
It's right - [Sokka, and Suki yell as Toph launches them all towards the airship]

Only once every hundred years, can a firebender experience *this* kind of firepower.

Suki:
[after Ozai's airship goes down] What just happened?

Sokka:

Sokka:

Suki:
Shouldn't we be helping him?

The Fire Lord is Aang's fight. We need to stay focused on stopping that fleet from burning down the Earth Kingdom.

Toph:
And how do we do that, Captain Boomerang? I can't see outside of this floating hunk of metal.

Sokka:

Prince Zuko:

Katara:

[assuring] You should count yourself lucky that the Avatar chose to spare you. Banishing me was the best thing you could've done for my life. It put me on the right path. Maybe your time in here can do the same for you.

Mai:
[from the doorway] You need some help with that?

Prince Zuko:
[turning, embracing her] Mai, you're okay! They let you out of prison?

Mai:
[tying Zuko's robes] My uncle pulled some strings. And it doesn't hurt when the new Fire Lord's your boyfriend.

Prince Zuko:
So does this mean you don't hate me anymore?

Mai:
I think it means, I actually kind of like you.

[they kiss]

Mai:
[sternly]... but don't *ever* break up with me again!

Ozai:
[exhausted and defeated] What... what did you do to me?

Aang:
[assuredly] I took away your firebending. You can't use it to hurt or threaten anyone else ever again.

Aang:
[in his Avatar state with his past-lives] Fire Lord Ozai, you and your forefathers have devastated the balance of this world. And now, you shall pay the ultimate price!

Suki:
[points at Ozai assuming he's dead] So did you

[pauses]

Suki:
You know, finish the job

Ozai:
[angrily] I'm still alive

No. I'm not going to end it like this.

Even with all the power in the world, you are still weak!

Aang:

Prince Zuko:

Aang:
I can't believe a year ago I was still frozen in a block of ice. The world's so different now.

Prince Zuko:
And it's going to be even more different. We'll rebuild it together.

Prince Zuko:
Today, this war is finally over! [Everyone cheers] I promised my uncle that I would restore the honor of the Fire Nation. And I will. The road ahead of us is challenging, a hundred years of fighting has left the world scarred and divided. But with the Avatar's help, we can get it back on the right path, and begin a new era of love and peace. [Zuko bows down. The High Sage crowns Zuko]

High Sage:
All hail Fire Lord Zuko!

Sokka:
[last lines of series] I wanted to do a painting, so we'd always remember the good times together.

Katara:
That's very thoughtful of you, Sokka. Wait! Why did you give me Momo's ears?

Sokka:
Those are your hair loopies.

Prince Zuko:
At least you don't look like a boar-q-pine. My hair's not that spiky.

Mai:
I look like a man.

Suki:
Why did you paint me firebending?

Sokka:
I thought it looked more exciting that way. [Momo chitters] Oh, you think you can do a better job, Momo?

Uncle Iroh:
Hey, my belly's not that big anymore. I've really trimmed down.

Toph:
Well, I think you all look perfect.

Lion Turtle:
In the era before the Avatar, we bent not the elements but the energy within ourselves.

Aang:
Wow. I haven't cleaned my room in a hundred years! Not looking forward to that.

Sokka:
Warriors, away from the enemy. The foreigner is banished from our village.

Katara:
Sokka, you're making a mistake.

Sokka:
No! I'm keeping my promise to dad. I'm protecting you from threats like him.

Katara:
Aang is not our enemy! Don't you see? Aang's brought us something we haven't had in a long time. Fun.

Sokka:
Fun? We can't fight fire benders with fun.

Aang:
[smiling earnestly] You should try it sometime.

Gran Gran:
Katara, you knew going on that ship was forbidden. Sokka is right. I think it best that the air bender leaves.

Katara:
Fine! Then I'm banished too! Come on, Aang. Let's go.

Sokka:
Katara! Would you really choose him over your own tribe? Your own family?

Aang:
[Long pause] Katara, I don't want to come between you and your family. [Aang mounts Appa]

Katara:
So you're leaving the South Pole? This is goodbye?

Aang:
Looking for me?

Prince Zuko:
You're the air bender? You're the Avatar?

Katara:
Aang?

Sokka:
No way!

Prince Zuko:
I've spent years preparing for this encouter. Training. Meditating. You're just a child.

Prince Zuko:
Well, you're just a teenager.

Katara:
We have to go after that ship, Sokka. Aang saved our tribe. Now we have to save him!

Sokka:
Katara, I...

Katara:
Why can't you realize that he's on our side? If we don't help him, no one will. I know you don't like Aang, But we owe him and...

Sokka:
Katara! Are you going to talk all day or are you coming with me?

Sokka:
Get in. We're going to save your boyfriend.

Katara:

Sokka:

Gran Gran:

[Notices half the crew is defrosting the other half]

As soon as you're done with that.

Katara:
Why didn't you tell us you were the Avatar?

Aang:
Because, I never wanted to be...

Katara:
And Sokka, I'm sure you'll get the chance to knock some fire bender heads along the way.

Sokka:
I'd like that. I'd *really* like that.

Katara:
Then we're in this together!

Katara:
Why didn't you tell us you were the Avatar?

Aang:
Because... I never wanted to be

Prince Zuko:
You're just a child!

Aang:
Well, you're just a teenager.

Zhao:
You can't compete with me. I have hundreds of warships under my command. And you, you're just a banished prince. No home. No allies. Your own father doesn't even want you.

Prince Zuko:
You're wrong. Once I deliver the Avatar to my father, he will welcome me home with honor, and restore my rightful place on the throne.

Zhao:
If your father really wanted you home, he would have let you return by now, Avatar or no Avatar. But in his eyes you are a failure and a disgrace to the Fire Nation.

Prince Zuko:
That's not true.

Zhao:
You have the scar to prove it.

Prince Zuko:
[shouts] Maybe you'd like one to match!

Sokka:
I'm just a guy... with a boomerang... I didn't ask for the flying... and magic...

Uncle Iroh:
[getting a massage] Aahh... this is what I've been missing. Who knew floating on a piece of driftwood for three weeks, with no food or water, and sea vultures waiting to pluck out your liver, could make one SO tense!

Prince Zuko:
I want the Avatar. I want my honor, my throne. I want my father not to think I'm worthless.

Uncle Iroh:
I'm sure he doesn't. Why would he banish you if he didn't care?

[Zuko walks off]

Uncle Iroh:

Azula:
In my country, we exchange a pleasant hello before asking questions. Have you become uncivilized so soon, Zuzu?

Prince Zuko:

Prince Zuko:
We're going home. After three long years. It's unbelievable.

Uncle Iroh:

Prince Zuko:
Did you listen to Azula? Father's realized how important family is to him. He cares about me!

Uncle Iroh:
*I* care about you. And if Ozai wants you back, well, I think it may not be for the reasons you imagine.

Prince Zuko:

Uncle Iroh:

Prince Zuko:

Captain:

My brother and my uncle have disgraced the Firelord, and brought shame on all of us. You may have mixed feelings about attacking members of the Royal Family, I understand. But I assure you, if you hesitate some, I will not hesitate to bring you down. Dismissed!

General Fong:
Avatar Aang, we were all amazed at the stories of how you single-handedly wiped out an entire Fire Navy Fleet at the North Pole. I can't imagine what it's like to wield such devestating power. It's an awesome responsibility.

Aang:
I try not to think about it.

Katara:
There's a right way to do this: practice, study and discipline.

Sokka:
Or just glow it up, and stomp the Firelord.

Katara:
If you two meatheads want to throw away everything we've worked for - fine! Go ahead and glow it up!

Aang:
Katara, I'm just being realistic. I don't have time to do this the right way.

Katara:
Do you remember when we were at the Air Temple and you found Monk Gyatso's skeleton? It must have been so horrible and traumatic for you. I saw you get so upset, you weren't you anymore. I'm not saying the Avatar State doesn't have incredible and helpful power, but you have to understand, for the people who love you, watching you in that much rage an pain is really scary.

Aang:
I'm really glad you told me that. But I still need to do this.

Aang:
I can only reach the Avatar State when I'm in genuine danger.

General Fong:
I see. I was afraid you'd say that. [Fong attacks Aang]

General Fong:
You can't run forever!

Aang:
You can't fight forever!

Prince Zuko:
You lied to me!

Azula:
Like I've never done that before.

Avatar Roku:
The Avatar State is a defense mechanism. Designed to empower you with the skill and knowledge of all the past Avatars. The glow is the combination of all your past lives focusing their energy through your body. In the Avatar State, you are at your most powerful, but you are also at your most vulnerable.

Aang:

Avatar Roku:
If you are killed in the Avatar State, the reincarnation cycle will be broken, and the Avatar will cease to exist.

Ten-fold energy, huh? [slurps, then begins twitching]

[Speaking in a fast, high-pitched, hyper voice while zipping everywhere on his air-scooter] Is it working, is it working? I can't tell! Somebody tell me if I'm in the Avatar state 'cause I don't have a good view of myself! Am I talking too loud?

Sokka:
I guess he could talk the Fire Lord to death.

Priest:
You are wearing a ceremonial piece of clothing from each of the bending nations. Now I will join the four elements into one! [as he mentions each element, he throws a pan of water, dirt, a torch, and blows air into a mixture] Water, earth, fire, air! Four elements together as one! [throws mixture at Aang, splattering him with mud]

Aang:
This is just mud!

Priest:
So... do you feel anything?

Aang:
[Aang's nose begins to twitch. He lifts up a finger. Fong, Sokka, and Katara, look hopeful. Aang sneezes] Aaaaachoooo!

General Fong:
Welcome, Avatar Aang. I am General Fong, and welcome to all of you great heroes - Appa, Momo, brave Sokka, the mighty Katara.

Katara:
Mighty Katara? I like that.

Avatar Roku:
When love is real, it finds a way... And being the Avatar doesn't hurt your chances with the ladies either.

Avatar Roku:
Love is hard when you're young.

Aang:
You don't have to tell me.

Avatar Roku:
Don't worry, it gets better.

Young Sozin:
[Handing Roku a crown] Here. I hope you're at least allowed to have this.

Young Roku:
But this is a royal artifact. It's supposed to be worn by the crown prince.

Young Sozin:
I want *you* to have it.

Katara:
[Aang stands, then squats and starts grunting] Do they have bathrooms in the Spirit World?

Sokka:
As a matter of fact, they do not.

Aang:
That's amazing! I can't believe you were friends with Monk Gyatso just like I was.

Avatar Roku:
Some friendships are so strong, they can even transcend lifetimes.

Fire Lord Sozin:
Our nation is enjoying an unprecedented time of peace and wealth. Our people are happy. And we're so fortunate in so many ways.

Avatar Roku:
[uncertain] Where are you going with this?

Fire Lord Sozin:
I've been thinking. We should share this prosperity with the rest of the world. In our hands is the most successful empire in our history. It's time we expanded it.

Avatar Roku:
No! The four nations are meant to be just that - four!

Avatar Roku:
I'm sparing you, Sozin. I'm letting you go in the name of our past friendship. But I warn you - even a single step out of line will result in your *permanent*... end.

Fire Lord Sozin:
[to Avatar Roku] Without you, all my plans are suddenly possible. I have a vision for the future, Roku.

[Sozin leaves Roku]

Aang:
Roku was just as much Fire Nation as Sozin was, right? If anything, their story proves anyone's capable of great good and great evil. Everyone, even the Firelord and the Fire Nation, has to be treated like they're worth giving a chance. And I also think it's about friendships.

Toph:
Do you really think friendships can last more than one lifetime?

[Aang holds one of Toph's hands]

Aang:
I don't see why not.

[Katara holds Toph's other hand]

Sokka:
Well, scientifically speaking there's no way to prove that...

Katara:
Oh Sokka, just hold hands!

[Sokka hold's Katara's free hand]

Uncle Iroh:
You have more than one great-grandfather, Prince Zuko. Sozin was your father's grandfather. Your *mother's* grandfather... was Avatar Roku. [Zuko looks shocked]

Prince Zuko:
Why are you telling me this?

Uncle Iroh:
Because understanding the struggle between your two great-grandfathers can help you better understand the battle within yourself. Evil and good are always at war inside you, Zuko. It is your nature, your legacy. But there is a bright side. What happened generations ago can be resolved now, by *you*. Because of your legacy, you alone can cleanse the sins of our family, and the Fire Nation. Born in you along with all the strife is the power to restore balance to the world.

[Iroh opens a secret compartment, revealing Roku's crown, and offers it to Zuko]

Uncle Iroh:

Young Sozin:
I've been thinking hard about the state of the world lately.

Young Roku:
Sozin, it's my wedding. Have a cookie. Dance with someone. Lighten up!

Young Sozin:
Right from the start, I was destined to be Fire Lord. And although we didn't always know it, you were destined to be the Avatar. It's an amazing stroke of fate we know each other so well, isn't it Together, we could do... anything.

Young Roku:
[Cautious] Yeah... we could.

Young Sozin:

Young Roku:
[Growing more concerned] Where are you going with this?

Young Sozin:

Young Roku:
[Firmly] No. The four nations are meant to be just that: four.

Young Sozin:
[Emphatically] Roku, you haven't even stopped to consider the possibilities!

Young Roku:
[Angry] There are no possibilities. This is the last I want to hear about this.

Avatar Roku:
[Narrating, to Aang] That was my first real test as the Avatar.

Prince Zuko:
I found the secret history. Which, by the way should be renamed "the history most people already know." The note said that I needed to know about my great-grandfather's death, but he was still alive in the end.

Prince Zuko:
I need to ask you something. What do you remember about our Great-Grandfather's history?

Azula:
Ah, Zuko. It's so strange how your mind works.Fire Lord Sozin began the war, of course. He spent his early years secretly preparing for it, but he was as patient as he was clever. He famously waited for the comet, later renamed Sozin's comet, and used its power to launch his full-scale invasion of the world.

Young Sozin:
With Roku gone, and the great comet returning, the timing was perfect to change the world. I knew the next avatar would be born an air nomad. So I wiped out the air temples. But somehow, the new avatar eluded me. I wasted the remainder of my life searching in vain. I know he's hiding out there somewhere. The Fire Nation's greatest threat... the last airbender.

Azula:
It's never too early for a sitting with the court painter, Zuko. Make sure he gets your good side.

Katara:
Remember, there's still a plan. The invasion.

Aang:
AND I HATE THE INVASION PLAN TOO! I DON'T WANT YOU OR ANYONE ELSE RISKING YOUR LIVES TO FIX MY MISTAKES! I've always known that I would have to face the Firelord. But now I know I need to do it alone.

Katara:
Aang.

Aang:
Katara, please. Just go, please.

Toph Beifong:
[on a ship, in midst of battle, blind] How we doin'?

Sokka:
Things couldn't get much worse.

Sokka:
[Giant sea serpent arises in front of their ship] The Universe just loves proving me wrong, doesn't it?

Toph Beifong:
You make it too easy.

Sokka:
[a stray fireball from the Fire Nation ship hits the serpent, which attacks that one in response] Thank you, The Universe!

Katara:
I like your hair.

Aang:
I have hair? How long was I out?

Mai:
Aren't you cold?

Prince Zuko:
I've got a lot on my mind. It's been so long. Over three years since I was home. I wonder what's changed. I wonder how I've changed.

Mai:
[Mai yawns] I justed asked if you were cold. I didn't ask for your whole life story.

Hakoda:
Everything okay?

Katara:
We're fine, dad.

Hakoda:
[Offering his hand to Aang] I'm Hokada. Katara, and Sokka's father.

Katara:
He knows who you are. I just called you "dad," didn't I?

Hakoda:
I guess you're right.

Aang:
[Shaking Hokoda's hand] Nice to officially meet you, Chief Hokoda.

Aang:
I went down. I didn't just get hurt, did I? It was worse than that. I was gone. But you brought me back.

Katara:
I just used the spirit water from the North Pole. I don't know what I did, exactly.

Aang:
You saved me.

Hakoda:
We've been working on a modified version of the invasion plan.

Katara:
It's *Sokka's* invasion plan.

Hakoda:
Yes. Sokka's plan.

Sokka:
And the best part is: the eclipse isn't even our biggest advantage. [In a hushed voice] We have a secret... you.

Aang:
Me?

Sokka:
Yep. The whole world thinks you're dead. Isn't that great?

Aang:
[Aang grabs his glider as a Fire Nation ship approaches] I'll handle this. The Avatar is back!

Katara:
Aang, wait! Remember, they don't know we're not Fire Nation.

Aang:
[as the ship's being attacked] I can't just stand by and do nothing.

Sokka:
Aang, no! You're still hurt, and you have to stay secret. Just let us handle this.

Aang:
Fine.

Katara:
Is there anything you need?

Aang:
I need to redeem myself. I need my honor back.

Fire Lord Ozai:
You have been away for a long time. I see the weight of your travels has changed you. You have redeemed yourself, my son... Welcome home.

Hakoda:
What's wrong, Katara?

Katara:
He left.

Hakoda:

Katara:
AAng. He just took his glider and disappeared. He has this ridiculous notion that he has to save the world alone.

Hakoda:
Maybe it's his way of being brave.

Katara:
It's not brave. It's selfish and stupid! We could be helping him. And I know the world needs him, but doesn't he know how much that we need him too? How could he just leave us behind?

Hakoda:
You're talking about me too, aren't you?

Katara:
How could you leave us, dad? I mean, I know we had Gran Gran, and she loved us. But-but we were just so lost without you.

Azula:
Please Zuko. What ulterior motive could I have? What could I possibly gain by letting you get all the glory for defeating the Avatar. Unless somehow the Avatar was actually alive. All that glory would suddenly turn to shame and foolishness. But you said yourself, that was impossible. Sleep well, Zu-Zu.

Avatar Roku:
If anyone's to blame for the state of the world, it is me. I should have seen this war coming, and prevented it. You inheirted my problems, and my mistakes. But I believe you are destined to redeem me, and save the world!

Aang:
I don't know.

Princess Yue:
You already saved the world. And you'll save the world again, but you can't give up.

Aang:
You're right. I won't give up!

Aang:
I have so much to do.

Katara:
I know but you'll have our help.

Toph Beifong:
You didn't think you could get out of training just by coming to the Fire Nation, did you?

Lo, Li:
Your Princess Azula, clever and beautiful, disguised herself as the enemy and entered the Earth Kingdom's capital. In Ba Sing Se she found her brother, Zuko, and together, they faced the Avatar. And the Avatar fell, and the Earth Kingdom fell. Azula's agents quickly overtook the entire city. They went to Ba Sing Se's Great Walls, and brought them down! The armies of the Fire Nation surged through the wall and swarmed over Ba Sing Se, securing our victory.

Lo, Li:
Now the heroes have returned home. Your princess, Azula! [Crowd cheers]

Lo, Li:
And after three long years, your prince has returned. Zuko! [Crowd cheers again]

Aang:
The world thinks I'm dead? How is that good news? That's terrible!

Sokka:
No, it's great. It means the Fire Nation won't be hunting us anymore. And even better, they won't expect you on The Day of Black Sun.

Aang:
No, no, no, no, no. You have no idea. This is so messed up!

Ty Lee:
[to Azula] Hey there sweet sugar cakes. How ya likin' this party?

Prince Zuko:
For so long now I thought if my dad accepted me, I'd be happy. I'm back home now, my dad talks to me, he even thinks I'm a hero! Everything should be perfect, right? I should be happy now, but I'm not! I'm angrier than ever and I don't know why.

Azula:
There's a simple question you need to answer, then. Who are you angry at?

Prince Zuko:
No one. I'm just... angry.

Mai:
Yeah, who are you angry at, Zuko?

Prince Zuko:
Everyone! I don't know!

Azula:

Prince Zuko:

Ty Lee:

Azula:

Prince Zuko:

Mai:

Azula:

Ty Lee:

[Appa groans]

Sokka:

Sokka:
[thinks he's an earthbender] Take *that*, you rock!

Aang:
Wait! My friends need to suck on those frogs!

Commander Zhao:
Oh, don't worry. You won't be killed like they were. See if you die, you'll just be reborn, and the Fire Nation will have to begin its search for the Avatar all over again. So I'll keep you alive... but just barely.

Scribe:
Sir, should I hold off sending that speech to the Fire Lord?

Katara:
[With a weak, sickly voice] How many times do I have to tell you, Momo, we need water. Wa-ter. Oh forget it. Aang, please, hurry.

Sokka:
[Delirious] Who's this "Aang" kid you keep talking about, Your Highness?

Sokka:
My first girlfriend turned into the moon.

Prince Zuko:
[pauses] That's rough, buddy.

Sokka:
Pretty clouds.

Prince Zuko:
Yeah, fluffy.

Prince Zuko:
Not up to anything, huh?

Sokka:
[Sokka is startled, yells and falls] Fine. You caught me. I'm going to rescue my father. Happy now?

Prince Zuko:

Prince Zuko:

[Sokka puckers up. Suki grabs him by the throat then shoves him against the far wall, knocking his helmet off]

Suki:
[recognizing him] Sokka, It's you!

Prince Zuko:

Warden:
How could I not? You broke my niece's heart.

Prince Zuko:
You're Mai's uncle?... I never meant to hurt her.

Warden:
QUIET! You're my special prisoner now. And you best behave. If these criminals found out who you are, the traitor prince who let his nation down, why they'd tear you to shreds!

Sokka:
Oh good. You guys have met.

Suki:
Actually, we met a long time ago.

Prince Zuko:
We did?

Suki:
[slightly angry] Yeah. You kind of burned down my village.

Prince Zuko:
...Oh, sorry about that. Nice to see you again.

Prince Zuko:
Well, what should we do? Are we going ahead with the plan or are we waiting another night?

Sokka:
I don't know. Is it right for me to risk Suki's freedom, all our freedom, on the slim chance that my dad is going to show up?

Prince Zuko:

Sokka:
If I had just cut my losses at the invasion, maybe we wouldn't be in this mess. And maybe sometimes, it's just better to call it quits before you fail.

Prince Zuko:

Warden:
Get the fugitives and throw them in the Cooler!

Bully Guard:
Uh, they are in the cooler sir.

Warden:
[Yelling] One that's bolted down and not floating in the water! This is a lockdown!

Sokka:

Prince Zuko:

[after Mai helps Zuko and the others escape]

Azula:

[they go into fighting stances; Ty Lee intervenes, hits Azula with her chi-blocking jabs; Azula gasps in shock and falls, immobilized]

[the guards capture them]

Guard:
What shall we do with them, Princess?

Azula:
Put them somewhere I'll never have to see their faces again, and let them *rot*!

Azula:
[as the Warden is interrogating a guard] You're wasting your time. That's not one of them.

Warden:
How do you know?

Azula:
Because I'm a people person...

Chit Sang:
I know you're planning another escape attempt. I want in.

Sokka:
Actually, we're escaping right now, but we need a riot. You wouldn't know how to start one, would you?

Chit Sang:
A prison riot? Please. [he grabs another prisoner, lifts him over his head and shakes him in the air in front of the other prisoners] Hey! RIOT! [the prisoners riot]

Guard:
What are you doing?

Mai:
Saving the jerk who dumped me.

Sokka:
Thank goodness you're okay.

Hakoda:
If you take one step closer, you'll see just how okay I am.

Sokka:
[Removing his helmet] Dad. It's me.

Hakoda:
Sokka! My son!

[Hakoda hugs Sokka and chuckles]

Hakoda:
You know, Sokka, you should be more careful with that guard's uniform. I almost punched you in the gut.

Sokka:
Yeah, I ran into that problem earlier.

Sokka:

Hakoda:

[to guard] Get off me! [she runs to the door as Zuko slams it shut; she and Zuko share a long look through the bars before Zuko runs off]

Warden:
[Thinking Suki's about to hit him] You wouldn't dare!

Suki:
Sorry Warden.

[Suki ties the warden's hands and gags him]

Suki:
You're my prisoner now. [Zuko, Sokka, Hakoda and Chit Sang run up] We've got the warden. Now let's get out of here.

Hakoda:
That's some girl.

Sokka:
Tell me about it.

Suki:
We're on our way.

Hakoda:
[Looking back at the platform] Wait! Who's that?

Prince Zuko:
That's a problem. It's my sister and her friend.

Suki:
[about Azula and Ty Lee] This is a rematch I've been waiting for.

Prince Zuko:

Hakoda:
Sorry Warden. Your record is officially broken.

Toph:

Sokka:

My grandmother used to tell me stories about the old days, a time of peace when the Avatar kept balance between the Water Tribes, Earth Kingdom, Fire Nation, and Air Nomads. But that all changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar mastered all four elements. Only he could stop the ruthless firebenders. But when the world needed him most, he vanished. A hundred years have passed and the Fire Nation is nearing victory in the war. Two years ago, my father and the men of my tribe journeyed to the Earth Kingdom to help fight against the Fire Nation, leaving me and my brother to look after our tribe. Now men, it's important that you show no fear when face a fire bender. In the water tribe, we fight to the last man standing! For without courage, how can we call ourselves men?

Sokka:
Listen, until your fathers return from the war, they're counting on you to be the men of this tribe. And that means NO POTTY BREAKS!

Kid #2:

Katara:
Aang, stop. We're not allowed to go near it. That ship could be booby trapped.

Uncle Iroh:

Uncle Iroh:

[Iroh glares at him, then smiles]

[Zuko groans]

Katara:
[after getting out of the cave] Sokka, why's your forehead all red?

[Sokka smacks his forehead, making it redder]

Katara:
[reading an inscription] Love is brightest in the dark.

[after finding their separate ways out of the Cave of Two Lovers]

Sokka:
How did you guys get out?

Aang:
Just like the legend says, we let love lead the way.

Sokka:
Really? We let huge ferocious beasts lead our way.

Chong:
Hey. River people.

Katara:
We;re not river people.

Chong:
You're not? Well then what kind of people are you?

Aang:
Just people.

Chong:
Aren't we all, brother?

Aang:
You guys are nomads? That's great! I'm a nomad.

Chong:

Aang:

Sokka:
I hate to be the wet blanket here, but since Katara's busy, I guess it's up to me. We need to get to Omashu! No sidetracks. No worms. And *definitely* no rainbows!

Chong:

Lily:

Sokka:

Chong:

Chong:

Chong:

And we have five torches so that's... [she takes the other four torches she is holding a strikes then on the ground like matches, lighting them instantly] ten hours.

Sokka:
[while grabbing and stomping out the torches she lit] It doesn't work like that if they're all lit at the same time!

Moku:
Oh, great! Your plans have led us to another dead end!

Sokka:
[Defensively] At least I'm thinking of ideas and trying to get us out of here, Moku.

Chong:
Whoa, whoa, wait a minute; we're thinking of ideas! 'Cause I've had an idea for, like, an hour now.

Sokka:
[Explodes] Yes! We're all thinking of ideas!

Chong:
Well, then listen to this: if love is the key out of here, then all we need to do is play a love song [Sokka smacks his forehead]

Sokka:
The journey was long and annoying, but now you get to see what it's really about - the destination. I present to you the Earth Kingdom city of O... [devastated with realization, seeing the city has been attacked by the Fire Nation] Oh, no...

Sokka:

Katara:
[Reading the story of the two lovers engraved on their tomb] They met on top of the mountain that divided their two villages. The villages were enemies so they could not be together. But their love was strong and they found a way. The two lovers learned earthbending from the badger moles. They became the first earthbenders. They built elaborate tunnels so they could meet secretly. Anyone who tried to follow them would be lost forever in the labyrinth. But one day the man didn't come. He died in the war between their two villages. Devastated, the woman unleashed a terrible display of her earthbending power. She could have destroyed them all. But instead she declared the war over. Both villages helped her build a new city where they would live together in peace. The woman's name was Oma and the man's name was Shu. The great city was named Omashu as a monument to their love.

Sokka:
How far are we from the tunnel.

Chong:
Actually, it's not just one tunnel. The lovers didn't want anyone to find out about their love, so they built a whole labyrinth.

Sokka:
[Sokka turns to face the others in a pose of horror, his hands holding the sides of his head] LABYRINTH!

Chong:
I'm sure we'll figure it out.

Lily:
All you need to do is trust in love. According to the curse.

Sokka:
[At this Sokka stops, standing bolt upright. The others pass him] Curse!

Toph Beifong:

Katara:

Katara:
Did you just slam the door in my face? How can you be so infuriating? [starts pounding on the walls] .

Aang:

Sokka:

Katara:

Aang:

Aang:
What did I just do? I can't believe [after Toph leaves] I yelled at my own earth-bending teacher. Now she's gone.

Katara:
I know. We're all just trying to get used to each other. And I was so mean to her.

Sokka:
*Yeah*, you two were pretty much jerks.

Katara:
[Flatly] Thanks, Sokka.

Sokka:

Azula:
[to Aang] Do you really want to fight me? [Zuko comes out of hiding]

Prince Zuko:
Yes, I do.

Ty Lee:
[about Sokka] Is it just me, or was that guy kinda cute?

Azula:

[when Iroh isn't looking she blasts him with blue fire]

Ty Lee:

Katara:
I'm just glad we finally have another girl in the group. Because you two are disgusting.

Toph Beifong:

Toph Beifong:

Toph Beifong:
It feels like an avalanche, but also *not* an avalanche.

Sokka:

Toph Beifong:

Toph Beifong:

Aang:
[Coming between them] No, no! She's not blaming you!

Katara:
No, I'm blaming her!

Toph Beifong:
If there's anyone to blame, it's sheddy over here! [Points at Appa]

Aang:
What? You're blaming Appa?

Toph Beifong:
Yeah! You wanna know how they keep finding us? [She grabs a bunch of hair from Appa's side and opens her palm to let it blow away in the breeze] He's leaving a trail everywhere we go!

Aang:
[Angry] How dare you blame Appa! He saved your life three times today! If there's anyone to blame, it's you! You're always talking about how you carry your own weight, but you're not! He is! Appa's carrying your weight! He never had a problem flying when it was just the three of us!

Toph Beifong:
We can take 'em. Three on three.

Sokka:
Actually, Toph, there's four of us.

Toph Beifong:
Oh. I'm sorry, I didn't count you. You know, no bending and all.

Sokka:
[Making a furious expression at Toph, while shouting in an equally furious way] I CAN STILL FIGHT!

Toph Beifong:
Okay. Three on three plus Sokka.

Aang:
What did I just do? I can't believe I yelled at my earthbending teacher. Now she's gone.

Katara:
I know. We're all just trying to get used to each other, and I was so mean to her.

Sokka:
Yeah, you two were pretty much jerks.

Katara:

Sokka:

[At the end of the season finale]

Earth King:
The Earth Kingdom has fallen.

Uncle Iroh:
Princess Azula is here in Ba Sing Se.

Aang:
She must have Katara.

Uncle Iroh:
She has captured my nephew as well.

Aang:
Then we'll work together to fight Azula, and save Katara and Zuko.

Sokka:
Woah there. You lost me at, "Zuko".

Uncle Iroh:
I know how you must feel about my nephew. But believe me when I tell you there is good inside him.

Sokka:
Good inside of him isn't enough. Why don't you come back when it's outside him too, okay?

Aang:
Katara is in trouble. All of Ba Sing Se is in trouble. Working together is our best chance.

Katara:
[while trapped with Zuko in a crystal cave] Why did they throw you in here? Oh wait. Let me guess. It's a trap. So when Aang shows up to rescue me, you can finally have him in your little Fire Nation clutches [no answer] You're a terrible person, you know that? Always following us, hunting the Avatar, trying to capture the world's last hope for peace! But what do you care? You're the Fire Lord's son. Spreading war and violence and hatred is in your blood.

Prince Zuko:
You don't know what you're talking about.

Katara:
I don't? How dare you! You have no idea what this war has put me through. Me personally. The Fire Nation took my mother away from me [starts to cry]

Prince Zuko:
[sympathetically] I'm sorry. That's something we have in common.

Katara:
I thought you had changed!

Prince Zuko:
I have changed.

Mai:
Just take the bear.

Azula:
[to Zuko] The only way we win, is together.

Azula:
We've done it Zuko. It's taken a hundred years, but the fire nation has conquered Ba Sing Se.

Prince Zuko:
I betrayed Uncle.

Azula:
No. He betrayed you. Zuko, father will now welcome you as a war hero.

Prince Zuko:
But I don't have the Avatar. What if father doesn't restore my honor?

Azula:
He doesn't need to, Zuko. Today, you restored your own honor.

Sokka:
Aang, you go with Iroh to save Katara and the angry jerk. [to Iroh about his insult to Zuko] No offense.

Uncle Iroh:
None taken.

Katara:
I'm sorry I yelled at you before. It's just that, whenever I would imagine the face of the enemy, it was your face.

Prince Zuko:
My face. [touches his scar] I see.

Katara:
No-no. That's-that's not what I meant.

Prince Zuko:
It's okay. I always thought this scar marked me. The mark of the banished prince, doomed to chase the Avatar forever. But lately, I've realized that I'm free to determine my own destiny. Even if I'll never be free of my mark.

Katara:

[pull out the amulet] This water from the spirit oasis at the North Pole. [Zuko turns to Katara] It has special properties, so I've been saving it for something very important. [walks closer to Zuko] I don't if it would work but... [Zuko closes his eyes and Katara gently touches the side of his face near his scar]

Uncle Iroh:
You are not the man you used to be. You are stronger and wiser and freer than you ever used to be. And now you have come at the crossroads of the destiny. Its time for you to choose. Its time for you to choose good.

Sokka:
So what kind of trouble is Katara in?

Aang:
I don't know. In my vision, I just knew she needed help.

Sokka:
IT'd be nice if your Avatar powers could be a little more specific from time to time.

Azula:
[to the Dai Li] This coup must be swift and decisive. The Earth King and each of the five generals must be taken out simulataneously. Long Feng has placed you in my command while we overthrow the government. If I sense any disloyalty, any hesitation, any weakness at all, I will snuff it out! That is all.

Uncle Iroh:
Did I ever tell you how I got the nickname "Dragon of the West?"

Azula:
I'm not interested in a lengthy anecdote, Uncle.

Uncle Iroh:
It's more of a demonstration really. [Iroh breaths fire]

Uncle Iroh:
[after Iroh jumped out a palace window] Come on. You'll be fine.

Prince Zuko:
No! I'm tired of running. It's time I faced Azula!

Toph Beifong:
Wait. Someone's at the door. [There's a knock at the door] Actually, I know who it is. It's an old friend of mine. [Toph opens the door to reveal Iroh] Glad to see you're okay.

Uncle Iroh:
I need your help!

Aang:
Well, I met with this guru who was supposed to help me master the Avatar State, and control this great power. But to do it, I had to let go of someone I love. And I just couldn't.

Uncle Iroh:
Protection and power are overrated. I think you are very wise to choose happiness and love.

Guru Pathik:
[Aang recalls what the guru said] The only way is to let her go.

Aang:
I'm sorry Katara. [Aang enters the Avatar State]

Azula:
[to Long Feng] I can see your whole history in your eyes. You were born with nothing. So you've had to struggle and connive and claw your way to power. But true power, the divine right to rule, is something you're born with. The truth is: they don't know which one of us is going to be sitting down on that throne, and which of us is going to be bowing down. But *I* know, and *you* know.

[Azula sits on the throne]

Azula:

Ty Lee:
Nice speech Azula. It was pretty and poetic, but also scary in a good way.

Yeah, I thought you were gonna make that one guy pee his pants.

Azula:
[while Zuko is cornered by Azula and the Dai Li] You're so dramatic. What, are you going to do, challenge me to an Agni Kai?

Prince Zuko:
Yes! I challenge you!

Azula:
[Smiling mockingly] No thanks.

Earth King:
Katara's fine. You have nothing to worry about.

Aang:
But, in my vision. I felt so sure that she was in trouble.

Earth King:
Well, she met with the Council of Generals to plan the invasion. And since then she's been off with your friends, the Kyoshi Warriors.

Sokka:
See Aang? She's with Suki. They're probably back at our apartment right now, talking about make up or something.

Aang:
Ok, maybe you're right.

Earth King:
Believe me, if there was any danger at all, Bosco's animal instinct would sense it.

Uncle:
Sometimes life is like this dark tunnel. You can't always see the light at the end of the tunnel, but if you just keep moving, you will come to a better place.

Azula:

Uncle:
The kind of redemption she offers is not for you!

Azula:

Wait. If they knew we were coming, it could all be a trap. Maybe we should use the time left to make sure we all get out of here safely.

Hakoda:
Everyone who is here today came prepared to risk everything for this mission. They know what's at stake. If there's still a chance, and there's still hope, I think they would want Aang to go for it.

Sokka:
What do you think? You're the one who has to face the Firelord. Whatever you decide, I'm with you.

Aang:

Toph:
[Leading them through some tunnels] This way. That one's a dead end.

Sokka:

Toph:

Sokka:

Sokka:
[Crossing an area filled with small volcanoes] We'll have to be fast but careful. [Sokka takes a step, a volcano goes off in front of him.Sokka yelps]

Aang:
How was that careful?

Sokka:
I was wrong. We need to be fast, careful and lucky.

Aang:
I'm ready. I'm ready to face the Firelord. [Opens the door and they find Azula sitting on the throne]

Azula:
So you are alive after all. I had a hunch that you survived. But it doesn't matter. I've known about the invasion for months.

Prince Zuko:
Because the Avatar's not dead. He survived.

Fire Lord Ozai:

Prince Zuko:
In fact, he's probably leading this invasion. He could be on his way here right now.

Fire Lord Ozai:

Prince Zuko:
Growing up we were taught that the firenation was the greatest civilization in history. And somehow the war was our way of sharing our greatness with the rest of the world. What an amazing lie that was. The people of the world are *terrified* by the Fire Nation. They don't see our greatness. They *hate* us. And we deserve it! We created an era of fear in the world. And if we don't want the world to destroy itself, we need to replace it with an era of peace and kindness.

Fire Lord Ozai:
[Ozai laughs] Your uncle has gotten to you hasn't he?

Prince Zuko:

Toph:
You're trying to keep us here and waste all our time.

Azula:

Toph:

Fire Lord Ozai:

Prince Zuko:
But I've come to an even more important decision - I'm going to join the Avatar. And I'm going to help him defeat you!

Aang:
Maybe it's not too late. The eclipse is over, but I can face the Firelord anyway.

Sokka:

Aang:
But I'm ready. I came here with a job to do, and everyone's counting on me.

Toph:
The Firelord knew we were coming this time. We thought we had surprise on our side, but we didn't. It just wasn't our day. What we need to do right now is help our friends.

[Aang has just raised a huge mushroom cloud in the distance]

Sokka:

I traded him to some merchants. He's probably in Ba Sing Se by now. They were going to sell him there. Please we'll escort you out of the desert. We'll help however we can.

Sokka:
[Sokka realizes Aang hasn't calmed down] Just get out of here! RUN!
