[Belle hears Maurice somewhere in the castle, and using Lumière, she goes to the dungeon where Maurice is locked up]

Belle:
Papa, is that you?

Maurice:
Belle, how did you find me?

Belle:
Your hands are ice. We need to get you home.

Maurice:
Belle. Belle, you must leave here at once. This castle is alive. Now go before he finds you!

Belle:
Who?

[They both turn to the same direction where they heard the Beast roaring. She sees the Beast's silhouette in an upper part of the tower]

Belle:
Who's there? Who are you?!

Beast:
[angrily] WHO ARE YOU?

Belle:
I've come for my father.

Beast:
Your father... is a THIEF.

Belle:
Liar!

Beast:
He stole a rose.

Belle:
I asked for the rose. Punish ME, not him.

Maurice:
[to Belle] No, he means forever. Apparently, that's what happens around here when you pick a flower!

Belle:
[to the Beast] A life sentence for a rose?

Beast:
[leaps down to her section of the tower, but remains hidden in the shadows] I received eternal damnation for one. I'm merely locking him away. Now, do you still wish to take your father's place?

Belle:
Come into the light.

[The Beast doesn't move. Belle grabs Lumière and holds him up to his face. Seeing the Beast's intimidating appearance, she gasps in fear]

Beast:
[irked] Choose.

Maurice:
Belle, I won't let you do this. I lost your mother, I won't lose you too! Now go. Go! [coughing]

Belle:
Alright, Papa. I'll leave. [to the Beast] I need a minute alone with him. [The Beast turns away] You're being so cold-hearted you won't allow a daughter to say goodbye to her father? Forever can spare a minute.

[The Beast turns towards her, glaring at her. Then he pulls the switch opening the dungeon door]

Beast:
When this door closes, it will not open again.

[Belle puts Lumière down and runs up to her father and hugs him]

Belle:
I should have been here with you.

Maurice:
Listen, Belle. It's alright. Go. Live your life, and forget about me.

Belle:
Forget you? Everything I am is because of you.

Maurice:
I love you, Belle. Don't be afraid.

Belle:
I love you too, Papa. I'm not afraid. [she and Maurice hug; whispers] And I will escape, I promise.

Maurice:
[confused] What? [Belle pushes Maurice out of the dungeon and closes the door]

Beast:
You took his place.

Belle:
He's my father.

Beast:
Then he is a fool. And so are you!

Maurice:
Belle...

[The Beast drags Maurice out of the castle]

Belle:
Papa! [to the Beast] Be gentle with him!

Maurice:
Belle, I'll come back! I promise!

Maurice:
No. I'm sure this is the way. Do you hear those wolves? That means we're getting very close to the castle.

Gaston:
Look, enough is enough. We have to turn back.

Maurice:
Stop.

[Gaston stops the cart]

Maurice:
That's it. There it is. [snaps his finger] That's the tree. I'm sure of it. [gets off the cart] It-it was downed by lightning at the time. But now it's... resumed an upright position through some sort of... magic or other.

LeFou:
[to Gaston] You really want to marry into this family?

Maurice:
So that means that the... the castle is that - No. No, it's - [motions falling tree with his arm] That way. Definitely... that way.

Gaston:
I am done playing this game of yours! Where is Belle?

Maurice:
The Beast took her and she...

Gaston:
There are no such things as beasts... or talking teacups... or magic! But there are wolves, frostbite, and starvation!

LeFou:
[stands up] Deep breaths, Gaston. Deep breaths.

Gaston:
[breathes deeply, then turns to Maurice] So, why don't we just turn around, go back to Villeneuve? I'm sure Belle is at home, cooking up a lovely dinner.

Maurice:
If you think I've made all this up, then why did you offer to help?

Gaston:
Because, I want to marry your daughter! [calms down] Now, let's go home.

Maurice:
Belle is not at home! She is with the...

Gaston:
[grabs Maurice] You say "Beast" one more time, I WILL FEED YOU TO THE WOLVES!!!

LeFou:
[tries to stop him] Gaston, stop it! Breathe, think of happy thoughts, go back to the war, blood, explosions, countless widows.

Gaston:
Widows...

LeFou:
Yes, yes. That's it... [Gaston calms down and LeFou taps his nose] That's it.

Gaston:
[turns to Maurice, smiling. Maurice recoils] Maurice! Please forgive me, old bean. That's no way to talk to my future father-in-law, now is it?

Maurice:
Future father-in-law?

Gaston:
Yeah.

Maurice:
You will never marry my daughter.

[Short silence. Gaston furiously punches Maurice in the face, knocking him out]

LeFou:
I saw that coming.

[Cut to Gaston tying Maurice to a tree]

Gaston:
If Maurice won't give me his blessing, then he's in my way. Once the wolves are finished with him, Belle will have no one to take care of her but ME!

LeFou:
For the sake of exhausting all of our options, do we maybe want to consider a slightly less... gruesome alternative?

Gaston:
Are you coming?

[LeFou gulps and quickly and hesitantly climbs into the carriage]

Gaston:
[to Maurice, as he's thrown in a carriage] Have you seen the inside of a mad house, Maurice? You wouldn't last a week. Just give me your daughter and I'll set you free.

Maurice:
Never.

[Gaston looks mad, closes the carriage door]

Gaston:
Take him away!

[D'Arque rides away as Belle returns]

Belle:
STOP!! [gets off of Phillippe and runs to Maurice in the carriage] Papa!

Maurice:
Oh, Belle! I thought I lost you.

Belle:
[turns to D'Arque] Let him out! He's hurt!

D'Arque:
We can't do that, miss. But we'll take very good care of him.

Belle:
My father's not crazy! [turns to Gaston] Gaston, tell him!

Gaston:
You know how loyal, I am your family. But your father's been making some unbelievable claims.

Monsieur Jean:
It's true, Belle. He's been raving about a beast in a castle.

Belle:
I've just come from a castle, there is a beast!

Gaston:
You say anything to set him free. Your word is hardly proof!

Belle:
You want proof? [uses the magic mirror] Show me the Beast! [the mirror shows the Beast roaring. She shows him to the townspeople, who recoil in fear] There's your proof!

Gaston:
This is sorcery! [grabs the magic mirror] Look at this Beast! [He shows the townspeople about the Beast] LOOK AT HIS FANGS! HIS CLAWS!!

Belle:
No. Don't be afraid! He's gentle and kind.

Gaston:
[turns to Belle] The monster has her under his spell. If I didn't know better, I'd say she even cared for him!

Belle:
He's NOT a monster, Gaston! YOU ARE!! [turns to the townspeople] The Beast wouldn't hurt anyone!

Gaston:
I've heard of the effects of dark magic, but I've never before seen it with my own eyes! This is a threat to a very existence! We can't have running off to warn the Beast! Lock her up, too.

[Tom and Dick grabs Belle]

Belle:
No!

Tom:
Come here!

Belle:
NO!

Tom:
Shaddup.

Belle:
You won't get away with this, Gaston!

[Tom and Dick throws Belle in the asylum carriage]

Maurice:
Oh, Belle!

LeFou:
[grabs Gaston's arm] Gaston, with all due respect...

Gaston:
Do you want to be next? [LeFou is shocked into silence] Fetch my horse. [comes up to the carriage, to D'Arque] Stand guard. Don't let them escape! [to the townspeople] This creature will curse us all if we don't stop him! [the townspeople cheers] WELL, I SAY WE KILL THE BEAST!!!

[The Beast lays dying with Belle at his side]

Beast:
[weakly as he holds Belle’s hand, breathing heavily] You came back.

Belle:
[tearfully] Of course I came back. I’ll never leave you again.

Beast:
I’m afraid it's my turn to leave.

Belle:
We’re together now. It’s going to be fine.

Beast:
At least I got to see you one last time.

[The last petal falls and the Beast dies]

Belle:
No. Please, no. [starts crying] Come back.

[the last petal falls, the Beast dies, and the servants began to freeze up; at the entrance the servants celebrate after chasing the mob out]

Lumière:
We did it, Plumette! Victory is ours! [realizes she has frozen up into a feather duster] Plumette? Plumette! Oh, my darling Plumette... [sadly sets her down]

[Maestro Cadenza and Madame de Garderobe share their final moments]

Madame de Garderobe:
Oh, Maestro... You were so brave... Goodbye, my love... [reverts to a wardrobe]

Maestro Cadenza:
Amore?... No! Don't leave me... [he struggles to speak and the effects of the spell overtake him, reverting him to a harpsichord]

[Frou-Frou barks at the now inanimate Wardrobe and Harpsichord, as he lets out a final cry, turning into a footstool. Mrs. Potts frantically jumps around in search for Chip]

Mrs. Potts:
Chip? Chip! Have you seen Chip? He ran off! [sobs as she frantically panics unaware of what will happen] Where is my little boy...?! [her faces slowly fades from the teapot as she freezes up, as Chip emerges from the castle]

Chip:
Mama!

Cogsworth:
Oh, no.

Chip:
Mom! [he and his saucer flip upside down as they fly up and fall to the ground. The saucer crashes into the ground as Chapeau barely catches him and places him besides his mother as they both make their final transformation into inanimate objects]

[Lumière and Cogsworth are the only ones left. Knowing their time is up, they share their final goodbyes]

Cogsworth:
Lumière, I... I can't speak...!

Lumière:
[sadly] It's alright, Cogsworth.

Cogsworth:
I can't... Lumière, my friend... it was an honor to serve... with you. [freezes up, into a mantel clock]

Lumière:
The honor... was mine. [freezes up, into a candelabra. His flames extinguish.]

[Agathe comes in the West Wing]

Belle:
[crying over the Beast's death] Come back. Please don't leave me. I love you. [kisses him]

Enchantress/Agathe:
[first lines, narrating] Once upon a time, in the hidden heart of France, a handsome young prince lived in a beautiful castle. Although he had everything his heart desired, the prince was selfish and unkind. He taxed the village to fill his castle with the most beautiful objects ?and his parties with the most beautiful people.? Then one night, an unexpected intruder arrived at? the castle, seeking shelter from the bitter storm. As a gift, she offered the prince a single rose.? Repulsed by her haggard appearance, the prince turned the woman away. But she warned him not to be deceived by appearances for beauty is found within. When he dismissed her again, the old woman's outer appearance melted away to reveal a beautiful Enchantress.? The prince begged for forgiveness, but it was too late. For she had seen that there was no love in his heart.? As punishment, she transformed him into a hideous Beast and placed a powerful spell on the castle and all who lived there.? As days bled into years, the prince and his servants were forgotten by the world, for the enchantress had erased all memory of them from the minds of the people they loved. ?But the rose she had offered was truly an enchanted rose. If he could learn to love another and earn their love in return by the time the last petal fell, the spell would be broken. If not, he would be doomed to remain a Beast for all time.? As the years passed, he fell into despair and lost all hope, for who could ever learn to love a Beast?
