[Gloria has just arrived, saying that Reg has left her and that he was angry]

Jean:
Why was he in such a state?

Gloria:
Well... He came home early.

Eric:
Oh yeah!

Gloria:
He didn't bother to phone from work did he? He just turned up.

Jacko:
Well it is his house.

Gloria:
Maybe, but if he'd given me some prior warning, things could have been averted.

Jean:
What thing?

Gloria:
I could have asked my friend to leave.

Jacko:
[astonished] You had a bloke there!

Gloria:
A double-glazing consultant... But I can't help his sex can I? [looks around] I didn't encourage him... it just came over us.

Gloria:
Well don't all stare at me like that. I'm a victim of my own sunny nature.

[Lionel has just interviewed a not very bright girl as a possible replacement for Sandra]

Lionel Bainbridge:
...[to Sandra] and you're no better. Finding me girls like that?

Sandra:
I didn't. The job centre sent her.

[Looks puzzled at what she's just said]

Jacko:

[Eric realises he's in the way]

Eric:

Veronica Bainbridge:
