[Mother, son, and others arrested in trailer for smoking meth. Officer Wayne Anderson has mother show him where the drugs are located]

Laurie, the mother:

[officers stand up suspect, who groans with pain]

Suspect:
My legs

Officer Ryan Evans:
What about 'em?

Suspect:
They're goin' to sleep.

Officer Ryan Evans:
Well, they're tired because you ran. Obviously, you didn't stretch, right?

Thomas:
[pinned to ground by officers after vehicle pursuit] I'm a minor. I'm a minor. I'm a minor.

[Officers call over young wife, who is crying and holding baby girl, to police car where young husband, Thomas, is in the backseat]

FTO Ralph Dominguez:
Even if you don't care about everybody else that's on the streets of Stockton, you don't care about us that's chasing you, you don't care about yourself, think about these two.

Officer Ricardo Altamirano:
She can't even say anything to you, she's so upset. Does that mean anything to you? I don't understand why you have that smirk on your face.

[Officer Wayne Anderson finds brass knuckles on suspect, who was arrested with other family members]

Laurie, the mother:
He's not gonna hurt nobody. He just has that so that we don't have to go to war.

Officer Wayne Anderson:
Go to war, huh? Who ya goin' to war with?

Laurie, the mother:
The militia. You know, those guys that trying to take over the world.

Officer Wayne Anderson:
So you gonna stop 'em with some brass knuckles?

Suspect:
[who tried to rob somebody at gunpoint] You know how many black people been gittin' killed by cops, dude?

Officer Kenn Lerud:
When was the last time someone got shot and killed on the west side? By the police. Name it.

Suspect:
I'm not sure.

Officer Kenn Lerud:
2006. That was nine years ago, so don't sit here and tell me it's some kind of epidemic.

Officer Ryan Evans:
Why'd you run?

Suspect:
Why do you think?... Most guys, you know what I mean, motherf**king gangs, they comfortable with gettin' caught... they don't care... No, not me. That's not something that I try to live my life by. So, yes, I was gonna try everything possible to get away.

[robbery victim, in a police car with dark-tinted glass, will confirm suspect]

Officer Ryan Evans:
[to suspect] Just look straight ahead

[headlights from police car shining on suspect]

Suspect:
[whining] Dude, I can't see. It's too bright.

Officer Ryan Evans:
Look straight ahead.

Suspect:
[head turned away] You look into it.

Officer Michael Roberts:
[to suspect] I'm gonna have you step outta the car; if you get squirrelly, I'm gonna dump you, okay?

Officer Michael Roberts:
[to street-level heroin dealer] I'm not saying you're making a killing. I'm saying you're killing yourself by selling drugs and using drugs... I don't think you're driving in a Mercedes; I don't think you got a Lamborghini at home in the garage of your 16-bedroom house, but I want that for you, and this is not the way to get there.

Officer Joe Martinez:
I have a couple questions for you.

Drunk husband:
Shoot. Make 'em clear, make 'em direct, and don't bullshit.

[driver doing donuts crashed and took out column of porch on a house]

House owner:
[to driver, with Officer Dominguez standing there] Hey, sucker... You're f**king lucky you didn't hurt one of my family members... if that would have happened, I'd hunt you down until the day I f**king got you.

Officer Chuck Elam:
You got ID on you?

Suspect:
No. But I'm Isaiah.

Officer Chuck Elam:
You look just like Ray, so that's why I got to verify it.

[Officer Elam walks back to police car to check photo on warrant]

Officer Kyle Green:
What's your name?

Suspect:
Isaiah

Officer Chuck Elam:
[from a distance] Hey, Ray!

[Suspect turns his head in response to the name]

Drunk husband:
I'm in here in my underwear, okay?

Officer Joe Martinez:
I got a couple things I need to ask...

Drunk husband:
I have no weapons. [pulls down underwear to his ankles] You want to see?

[Officer Louis Porta has just explained several charges to the suspect]

Grant, the suspect:
That all felonies?

[Porta nods his head]

Grant, the suspect:
Come on, man...

Officer Louis Porta:
If I can make 'em, but they look like they're gonna be misdemeanors right now.

Grant, the suspect:
Can you please make 'em misdemeanors? Man, I just did seven...

Officer Louis Porta:
Not up to me, man; it's up to the penal code.

[questioning a man who is hallucinating on bath salts]

Officer Wayne Anderson:
They're putting fiber optic lines into this house?

Resident:
I could probably find 'em right here in this driveway, mailboxes, I can find 'em on my trucks...

Officer Wayne Anderson:
Point one out to me 'cause I'm not seein' what you're seein'.

Resident:
[touching finger to driveway] That could be fiber optic or a seed.

[Anderson picks up the seed on the end of his finger]

Officer Wayne Anderson:
How does that even resemble a fiber optic line?

Resident:
Some of 'em are biodegradable, too.

[vehicle chase finished when suspect's car drove over fence into a backyard]

Officer Louis Porta:
This your house? What'd you guys hear?

Homeowner:
I just heard some crashes going through, and after I heard a few police sirens and stuff, came outside and heard a guy resting on the ground, I got a baseball bat real quick.

Marco:
I'm going home.

Sgt. Aaron Schmautz:
[trying to put Marco in handcuffs] I disagree with your assessment about the "going home" part, okay?

Officer Michael Roberts:
[to Kylie, who was caught with methamphetamines in her pouch] Do you know that methamphetamine is a class C felony?

Kylie:
No

Officer Michael Roberts:
So class C felony goes on your record permanently, and it is no less than one year in prison. That's a lot of time for a 22-year-old who should be doing better things with her life. So I'm gonna tell you what I'm gonna do. I have five years to charge you with this, and every month I'm gonna run your name once a month. And if I find that you've been arrested for another drug charge in the next five years, I am going to submit an arrest for tonight, which means you have motivation to stop acting like a fool.

Officer Zach Kenney:
You're just gonna go to detox. It's just so you sober up. You're not in any trouble.

Marco:
Why?

Officer Zach Kenney:
That's just the rules, man.

Marco:
Why?

Officer Zach Kenney:
'cause that's the way things work.

Marco:
Why?

Officer Zach Kenney:
[chuckles, closes police car door on Marco] Okay, good night, Marco.

Officer Brent Taylor:
I'll get your handcuffs off in just a couple of minutes here, okay?

Marco:
[looking sincerely at Taylor] I love you.
