Dragon Flyz

Dreadwing:
No matter how high you fly, you cannot escape destiny. Your fall from grace is at hand.

Peak:
[Wing Storm catches him in his mouth and returns him to his back] Now that's what I call mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

Dreadwing:
Their end can wait for another day. Like... tomorrow.

Dreadwing:
The fools are trying to trick the master trickster.

Nocturna:
Dreadwing will revile us in we fail again.

Dreadwing:
[in her head] Bravo, Nocturna. I see you know your master well.

Z'nith:
Dread's behind this. I can feel it!

Dreadwing:
I can feel it too, Z'nith. Feel it in the very marrow of my bones. The beauty of your suffering pulses in my blood. The day of your downfall by your own dragons will be the day of my triumph of mind over all that matters!

Dreadwing:
An angry dragon can be a real drag.

Apex:
Blaze, Riptor, Wing Storm, Sky Fury. You are our best friends. Man and dragon fly as one; don't you remember? A dragon and his rider are united. They can never be separated. Ever.

Gangrin:
Power is nothing without control.

Dreadwing:
*I* am in control.

Z'nith:
I think it's time we get inside *his* head. And I'm not talking telepathically.

Z'nith:
Don't get too cozy in that bad hat, Gangrene. You look a little foolish.

Gangrin:
No, Z'nith. You're the fool.

Summit:
[laughing after Sky Fury stared at him growling and licking her lips and charged but ended up licking him] I guess Apex managed to change their mind, and their menu.

[last lines]

Peak:
She loves you, all right.

Summit:
OK. OK, Fury, enough. I forgive you already. St - ugh!

[Sky Fury starts licking him again]

Peak:
I think we should give these two some privacy, while they *kiss and make up*.

Summit:
No - guys, wait... Hey, don't leave me... Oh, oh, come on... Hey come... Come back!

Dreadwing:
Separate the dragon from the Fly.

Nocturna:
And with their dragons disposed, the Fly is easily squashed.

Peak:
Whoa, did you see that? No - how *could* you see it? Everything is just one big blur at your age.

Peak:
Before *your* eyesight goes, how about taking a look at what we're fighting for?

Z'nith:
And what we're fighting to have again. To think the whole planet was like this once.

Summit:
Looks like they're not in the mood for a fight.

Apex:
That's the only mood Dark Dramen know.

Aaron:
And if this is Dread's doing, he knows I'll need a specimen. And he'll be waiting for you.

Z'nith:
Well, he won't have to wait much longer.

Peak:
Down, get your snout *down*. Down!

Summit:
You need any flying tips, Peak? You just ask this old man here.

[chuckles]

Dreadwing:
Well, well, the Dragon Flyz have come to an end, as all good things must.

Apex:
[a Dark Draman grabs her] Hey, we just met.

Summit:
[rubs his head after ramming a Dark Dramen's with it] How does Apex do that?

Peak:
Maybe her head's harder than yours.

Peak:
[a rumbling sounds] What was that?

Summit:
[a gigantic parasite surfaces] It wasn't my stomach.

Z'nith:
Everybody out. I'll keep it here.

Peak:
We can't leave you.

Z'nith:
Do as I say, Peak.

Peak:
Why should I start now?

Apex:
Keep going, Summit. Don't look back. What you don't know won't hurt you.

Summit:
That's what *you* think.

Nocturna:
Your future just got shorter for that, Dragon Flyz.

[last lines]

Summit:
Let's go home.

Peak:
Yeah. This *old man* needs his rest.

Summit:
You know, Peak, you're really beginning to bug me with this old-man routine.

Peak:
Do me a favor, Summit - don't use the word "bug".

Summit:
Only if you can tag this old man's drag back to Airlandis!

[they take off; Z'nith and Apex laugh]

Z'nith:
Summit, give me a temp read.

Summit:
I don't think you wanna know.

Peak:
Even if it talks the talk and walks the walk, you can bet it isn't human.

Apex:
You're half-right, Peak. Dark Dramen are half-man, half-dragon.

Dark Draman:
You meet your death today, human.

Peak:
Sorry, I can't help you.

[knocks him down]

Peak:
I've got other plans.

Dark Draman:
[Summit is spinning him around] Let me go!

Summit:
Aim to please. [flings him out of his grip]

Peak:
Hey, Draman, eat my Dust Bowl!

Z'nith:
[to Cifex] You're... human.

Peak:
You took the words right out of my mouth.

Apex:
Now can you mind your own business?

Peak:
Hey, I'm famous for it.

Apex:
How's your head?

Cifex:
Better. Much better. Maybe all I needed was the air, and you.

Z'nith:
That explained the skeleton in the uniform.

Peak:
You mean skele*tin*. As in tin soldier.

Peak:
Leave it to Apex to fall for a toaster oven.

Dreadwing:
It seems your beloved forgot to tell you he had a heart as cold as steel.

[laughs]

Apex:
Better a synthetic heart than no heart at all.

Cifex:
I was never what I wanted to be. A human being.

Apex:
You'll destroy yourself!

Cifex:
Who cares?

Apex:
*I* do!

Cifex:
Being a machine does have a few advantages.

Peak:
What do we do now?

Z'nith:
What we always do: get the job done.

Dreadwing:
Hellfire!

Apex:
[after Dreadwing has Blackheart burn Cifex] FOOL!

Cifex:
Destroy me, Dreadwing, or I will destroy you.

Apex:
We have to get you back to Airlandis. If we don't, you'll end up dead. Cifex.

Cifex:
We all end up dead, Apex. It's just a matter of how, and when. I want to thank you, Apex. Thank you for showing me what life is. And giving meaning to mine.

Apex:
To Cifex... a being more human than most.

[last lines]

Cifex:
Apex. Remember me.

Gangrin:
Patience, my prince of darkness.

Dreadwing:
This will be my gift to the Dragon Flyz, my farewell gift. One that will keep giving and giving and giving.

Dreadwing:
Here they come - the soon-to-be Fire Flyz.

Dreadwing:
Humans of Airlandis, as you have already witnessed the handiwork of my crystal fire, I have come not to praise you, but to bury you.

Dreadwing:
I will treat Airlandis as if it had always been my home.

Peak:
That should buy us some time.

Summit:
Yeah, about a second and a half.

Peak:
[shoots the crystal that landed on Summit's upper back so it's destroyed] I always told you I was gonna knock that chip off your shoulder.

Z'nith:
Dragon Flyz, maximize!

Dreadwing:
But don't you mean "Dragon Flyz, crystallize"?

[laughs]

Dreadwing:
Stop it now.

Gangrin:
I... I can't. I don't know how. We could hope for an eclipse.

Dreadwing:
You should hope that I don't eclipse your head from your shoulders.

[last lines]

Z'nith, Summit, Apex, Peak:
AIRLANDIS LIVES!

Aaron:
At least for another day.

Nocturna:
[in Dreadwing's throne] Oh, this is nice. The view from up here is quite to my liking.

Dreadwing:
I think I command a bit more respect.

Nocturna:
I think you're confusing respect with fear.

Z'nith:
It's gonna be one of those maze days.

Peak:
Then let's be amazing.

Z'nith:
Anybody have a clue what he's talking about?

Peak:
I *never* know what he's talking about.

Z'nith:
Where there's smoke, there's fire. And if things are getting hot, Dread's got something cooking.

Dram:
Z'nith, you and the Dragon Flyz are my family, but the Dramen are my people.

Orac:
Do you know how close we came to the reactors shutting down? What, you decided to take the scenic route?

Z'nith:
You wanted crystals, you got crystals. I did my job, Orac; now why don't you go do yours? [heads off]

Orac:
Did I say something wrong?

Z'nith:
Dragon Flyz, mobilize.

Nocturna:
Catch a chill, Vydac? You're shaking. Is that with excitement, or fear?

Vydac:
I fear no one!

Draman:
They are fighters; we are not.

Dram:
Then you must *become* fighters, and fight for your freedom.

Kundra:
Hope alone cannot set you free.

Vydac:
Welcome to my camp, Lord Dreadwing.

Dreadwing:
Enough small talk; where are the slaves you promised me?

Dram:
And if I defeat him?

Dreadwing:
I'll tell Vydac to release the prisoners... right into the lava pool.

Nocturna:
They are crude, violent, and brutal. Just my type.

Dram:
Is it still hopeless? Are you unwilling to fight even now?

Kundra:
We cannot fight... but we *can* protect ourselves.

Kundra:
Our blood flows from the save river, Dram. You taught me a valuable lesson. Sometimes as a last resort you *have* to fight, to protect yourself, and the ones you love. My people - *our* people agree. You would make a noble leader, Dram.

Dram:
Evil must always be conquered, Kundra. And now that you have seen its face, you can conquer it without me.

[last lines]

Z'nith:
Seems like everyone owes you today, Dram. Maybe me most of all. I owe you one.

Dram:
You owe me too many, Z'nith. But because you came back, dear brother, I will always owe you.

Summit:
Place looks pretty ancient. This equipment must be 30, 31st century.

Nocturna:
The signal grows stronger.

Dreadwing:
And so does my anger, if the Dragon Flyz reach the signal before we do; hurry, Nocturna.

Kreigo:
You are merely the jackal who will chew on the bones of my dinner.

Summit:
[after Nocturna hits him with a laser and Sky Fury flips to let him recover] Allow me to return the favor.

[hits her so she screams and falls upside-down]

Peak:
Looks like Nocturna really flipped for you, Summit. You've gotta teach me that move.

Dreadwing:
Help me destroy the Dragon Flyz once and for all, and I will leave you to rule over Old Earth.

Kreigo:
And what of Warnado?

Dreadwing:
So you do know who I am.

Kreigo:
Yes. You are Dreadwing, soon to be ruler of Airlandis.

Dreadwing:
And you are Krego, soon to be ruler of Old Earth.

Dreadwing:
You have my word.

[turns away; under his breath]

Dreadwing:
For what it's worth.

Dram:
I thought him a story - a dark legend used to frighten Draman children. He is a fearsome monster, without compassion, without mercy. If you return to Old Earth, I will fly with you. If Kreigo exists, he could be the one who destroyed my village.

Kreigo:
Your legions are cowards.

Dreadwing:
[Grunts] It's so hard to get good help.

Nocturna:
We stab him in the back?

Dreadwing:
No, Nocturna, that's much too devious. We stab him in the front, over and over.

Aaron:
Orac has installed a quantum chip in your computer. It should be of help.

Z'nith:
Thanks. Every little quantum bit helps.

Peak:
I'll meet you at the end of the runway. And get ready to burn a hole in the sky.

Dram:
[to the Dark Dramen] I am no traitor. I fight for what I believe in. And I believe in Airlandis.

Dark Draman:
You're... choking me.

Dram:
[flings the other he holds aside and punches the first one's head] Airlandis rules!

Z'nith:
Dragon Flyz, neutralize.

Dreadwing:
If only they could destroy each other for good.

Nocturna:
Or for evil.

Dreadwing:
I bid you farewell, Kreigo, former ruler of Old Earth.

Kreigo:
I need no one to take what is mine.

Summit:
But you *do* need someone to tell you you've been duped.

Nocturna:
We lost Airlandis. But one less Draman is a victory nonetheless.

Peak:
It's nice to know you're so missed, Kreigo. Now tell your friends to back off, or their leader's going to be missing for a long, long time.

[last lines]

Aaron:
Captain Bristol did not give up and neither must we. One day we must leave this city in the sky and make our way back home.

Apex:
Turn her around, Summit.

Summit:
Yeah. That's easy enough for you to say.

Summit:
[a pair of dragons block his way] Let me past! I'm a friend! She needs me.

Apex:
[touches his shoulder] Summit, there are some places even a friend can't go. Like the maternity ward?

Summit:
[amazed] Fury's a mother?

Gangrin:
If Dread discovers my actions, he will have my head.

Dreadwing:
[jumps down behind him after a second] And your arms and legs as well.

Dreadwing:
[as Gangrin struggles to get free from the mutant creation] Stop playing with that plant and answer me.

Z'nith:
Everyone, battle ready. Gremwings don't forget mistakes.

Peak:
Thanks for the advice, big brother. But I don't plan on making any.

Dark Draman:
Your stupid wings won't save you.

Summit:
If I can't use mine, you can't use yours. We'll both die.

Dark Draman:
Draman want to die.

Summit:
[reaching for his wind-jammer] If that's true, then don't let me stop you.

Summit:
I failed her.

Apex:
No, you fought for her.

Z'nith:
Return what doesn't belong to you, Dreadwing.

Dreadwing:
The wants of a dead man mean nothing to me.

Dreadwing:
Blackheart, burn his image into the sky.

Dram:
Entrance to Warnado unguarded. All clear.

Z'nith:
Yeah. Clear as static.

Apex:
[she roars] Sky Fury, you must leave this to us. There are some places even a dragon can't go.

Peak:
[joking about the Dark Dramen] Where'd you leave your buddies? You have a fight or something?

Dram:
They will not call Dram traitor again.

Dreadwing:
Abandon all hope, O ye who enter here.

Z'nith:
Give it to us, Dreadwing.

Dreadwing:
Oh, I plan to give it to you, Z'nith. Right between the slits of your human eyes.

Dreadwing:
[sarcastically] Hope springs eternal.

Nocturna:
And so does death.

Summit:
Nobody's gonna separate them ever again.

Apex:
Or separate us.

Peak:
Hey, you know, Summit, he sorta has your chin.

Apex:
And your nose, too.

[everyone laughs]

[first lines]

Aaron:
[voiceover] The Earth dies. There was nowhere man could run. And in the great Cataclysm of the 40th century, only those who could survive the inferno remained. And when chaos reigned supreme, the fallen angel prevailed. A new breed evolved in the millennium that followed - creatures who would become man's most dreaded enemy. Dram:
Master Peak, are you all right?

Z'nith:
He won't be after *I* get through with 'im.

Peak:
Don't you think I know how to be responsible when it counts?

Z'nith:
You really want me to answer that?

Dreadwing:
Blackheart thirsts, but my thirst for power is even greater.

Dreadwing:
All in favor of bringing down Airlandis, all in favor of your master Dread, arise, and seek out those who descend upon us.

Aaron:
My body may be blunted, but my mind is as sharp as the vision I see of the promised land.

Peak:
These wind pits are the pits.

Peak:
Hey, watch your head - your tail - hey, AHHH!

Summit:
Flyin' through these things is like threadin' a needle with a dragon's tail.

Dreadwing:
This is the rarest of all insects, the elusive Dragon Fly, of which only FIVE in the world exist. But an insect is a bug, and there are only two kinds of bugs that I know of: the quick and the dead.

Dreadwing:
Easy, Blackheart. Don't break anything... yet. We need his bones connected to one another, to set our Fly in the web.

Dram:
I can smell a human a mile away, but down here in the breeding pits, all I can smell is death, and destruction. I smell a set-up.

Z'nith:
And I smell Dread.

Z'nith:
Everybody, keep your eyes open along with your noses.

Fryte:
Chase is useless, Dragon Fly.

Apex:
Didn't you know a girl likes to be chased?

Aaron:
They think of this as paradise. The only paradise is the one we destroyed.

Peak:
That was a long time ago. This is what we have now. This is our little slice of haven.

Aaron:
Heaven is not up here, son. It lies down there, along with mankind's second chance.

Apex:
We believe in you, Father.

Aaron:
And I in you. All of you. You carry the name Dragon Flyz, and you carry the hope of finding a place to start again.

Fryte:
Dreadwing could conquer whole planet if he want.

Nocturna:
If Vydac is true to his word. But I don't trust that Draman.

Fryte:
Any more than you trust Dread, you mean.

Dreadwing:
Now that we're one big happy military family, let's start behaving like one.

Z'nith:
Let's line 'em up, drag and grab, by the book.

Apex:
Cover to cover.

Peak:
[chuckling] By the book. As long as the book is The World According to Peak.

Nocturna:
Don't worry that ugly little head of yours.

Dark Draman:
But if they return and discover our camp...

Vydac:
If they return, they'll discover more than our camp. They'll discover just how fragile life can be.

Joshua:
Someone must be made accountable.

Summit:
[grabs his shoulder] Yes, you will. And plenty.

Z'nith:
Are you with us, Dram?

Dram:
You need not ask.

Dreadwing:
The time has come for the Dragon Flyz to neutralize for good.

Vydac:
First the Dragon Flyz, then Airlandis!

[flies off laughing]

Dreadwing:
And, then, Vydoc, it will be your turn.

[laughs]

Vydac:
As soon as we're done with Airlandis, I'll bury you with the Dragon Flyz, Dreadwing.

[laughs]

Aaron:
If anything happens to my children, I will hold you personally responsible.

Joshua:
I see where the Dragon Flyz get their arrogance from. There's no room for reckless behavior.

Aaron:
The only reckless behavior is yours.

Nora:
[beats a Dark Draman so it falls off her dragon] No charge for the nose job, Draman!

Zarkan:
Time for the big fly-and-dive, Thunder. Been good knowing you, my friend.

Joshua:
We have to negotiate a treaty.

Aaron:
Joshua, you're a bigger fool than I thought if you think Dread's going to bargain with you.

Aaron:
[hits an attacking Dark Draman with a vent] It'll take more than one Draman to stop a Dragon Fly.

Dark Draman:
How come the humans lock up one of their own kind?

Summit:
Insubordination.

Dark Draman:
[scratching his head] In... suuuu... borrr... di... n...

Summit:
Don't strain your brain, or whatever it is ya got inside that scaly skull.

Dark Draman:
I saw them disappear in the rubble over mountain.

Summit:
You lie! You'll die, scale-for-brains!

Dark Draman:
But I live. Only ones lying are the Dragon Flyz, buried under rubble.

Dreadwing:
Why does my city quake?

Orac:
Figure it out, winghead.

Gangrin:
You've got trouble all over the city!

Dreadwing:
No, Gangrene. YOU'VE got trouble if you don't figure out where it's coming from.

Apex:
He's alone!

Peak:
Not anymore!

Vydac:
You've made a grave mistake, my treacherous friend. One that will put you in *your* grave.

Z'nith:
Now, claws up.

Summit:
Come on! You're free! I know how good it feels!

Z'nith:
It's over, Dread.

Dreadwing:
My reign here may be over, Z'nith, but I am not. Today's victory is yours. Tomorrow will be mine.

Peak:
Shouldn't we go after 'im?

Z'nith:
Tomorrow will be here soon enough.

Summit:
So, Joshua, while you were spending time being Dread's servant, did you think of the wisdom of doing things by the book?

Joshua:
Well, it's not exactly what happened. I mean I... Dread was...

Summit:
[grinning] What's happening to you, Josh? I thought politicians were never at a loss for words.

Joshua:
Not for words... of gratitude. [everyone laughs] Thank you, Dragon Flyz. From all of us.

Aaron:
Nora, have you recovered from this morning's battle?

Nora:
A minor alteration, sir: I'm ready to burn wing.

Nora:
You can count on me, sir. I won't let you down.

Aaron:
Don't worry about me. Just don't let Airlandis down.

Nocturna:
The shadow that follows them will not be theirs but yours.

Nora:
Peak! Wake up; come on, wake up! No sleeping on the job. You OK?

Peak:
Uh, it hurts here. Kiss it to make it all better?

Peak:
What are children doing here?

Nora:
I don't know... But judging by the look on their faces, I don't think they're here to play.

Peak:
Hey, we didn't destroy the Earth. We're looking to rebuild it.

Lead F.I.S.T. Fighter:
Oh, you'll rebuild it, one life for another.

Peak:
I'm doing my best.

Nora:
Well, your best better get better, or *we're* gonna get a lot worse.

Nora:
Look, Peak, it's been swell, but the swelling is down now.

[last lines]

Z'nith:
Peak may be one of the best dragonators for his age, but he still has a lot to learn about life.

Z'nith:
And about women. [they laugh with Summit]

Fryte:
Dragon Flyz escaped again. Dreadwing not be pleased.

Nocturna:
Who says we have to tell him, Fryte?

Fryte:
Not Fryte. And not Dramen, if Dramen want to live to see tomorrow.

Peak:
[Wing Storm shows up where he fell and waves his wings stirring up dust] Clip the wing action, Storm. I'm not dead yet, but I will be if you keep that up.

[he roars slightly]

Peak:
Sorry, I didn't mean it like that. Of course I'm grateful. You take everything I say so personally.

Fryte:
The stink of human flesh is still strong.

Nocturna:
Not as strong as the sweet smell of success.

Peak:
Maybe I should wait 'til the others get here. Then again, maybe not!

Z'nith:
Any word?

Apex:
Nothing. Just, dead air.

Z'nith:
Dead or not, he better be breathing it.

Nocturna:
Too bad I let Dreadwing in on my discovery. I could have used this ancient arsenal to serve...

Dreadwing:
[coming in] Your lord and master.

Nocturna:
He's in good hands. Or should I say claws?

Dreadwing:
Tell your people that I give the Council of Cowards one hour to surrender and hand their flying city over to me.

Joshua:
The sins of our fathers have doomed us.

Joshua:
We must surrender.

Aaron:
Surrender and die. If the warhead doesn't kill us, the lava-pits of Old Earth will.

Joshua:
Well, I'm ready to take that risk.

Aaron:
I am not.

Orac:
Even a dragonator has his limits, Aaron. And against a ten-megaton warhead, those limits are zero, to none.

Aaron:
Council, hear me. I have fought Dread. If we surrender to him, we will lose more than our lives. We will lose our conscience, our hope, our freedom. Everything that makes us human.

Z'nith:
Maximize!

Gangrin:
Excuse me, Dread, but it appears one of the missiles is changing course, altering its trajectory.

Dreadwing:
What do you mean?

Gangrin:
I mean - RUN!

Z'nith:
Whatever the odds, we'd never let Dreadwing take you away from us.

Summit:
Well, maybe borrow you every now and then.

Apex:
Summit. Cut it out. You care about Peak just as much as the rest of us.

Peak:
Maybe more.

Summit:
Yeah, right. You're my brother, let's leave it at that.

Peak:
[grinning] Uh-oh. Looks like I lit someone's fuse.

[last lines]

Peak:
Now let's get home before someone's temper blows up and we *really* have something to worry about.

[everyone laughs]

Aaron:
The temperature is rising rapidly - fifteen degrees in the last hour. And there's an overwhelming increase in seismic activity, causing subversion and convulsions of these giant plates beneath the Earth's surface.

Peak:
Uh, not to admit that I never studied during geothermal class, 'cause I really meant to study, but, um... what does all that mean?

Aaron:
It means that there's going to be a major eruption very soon, my young, non-studying son.

Sumit:
It won't make a difference if they're right or wrong.

Apex:
Drags are never wrong.

Z'nith:
Surf up, little brother.

Peak:
"Little". You think you could try *younger* brother for a change?

Peak:
You're not gonna believe what we found down here. I don't.

Summit:
The lava level is rising fast.

Z'nith:
Then we better rise faster.

Nocturna:
Two things I can smell within a hundred yards are treachery, and the smell of human flesh.

Dreadwing:
Know thy enemy, Nocturna. That is the first rule of combat.

Dreadwing:
They went into the belly of the beast to snare its amber soul.

Apex:
It could've been worse, little brother.

Peak:
Nothing's worse than you calling me little.

Orac:
[of the crystals] These are like my babies. You kept Airlandis aloft all this time. I'm not deserting ya now.

Orac:
Bless ya, lads! I knew you wouldn't let an old man down! Or Airlandis!

Peak:
There's a way to win?

Z'nith:
No. But there's a way to lose more slowly, little brother.

[last lines]

Peak:
I mean, I think I deserve a metal or something.

Summit:
Yeah. A metal for the biggest ego in Airlandis.

[everyone but Aaron laughs]

Z'nith:
We've had better landings, my friend. Matter of fact, I think all of them were better than this one.

Gangrin:
It's working!

Dreadwing:
How can we tell if you're constantly blabbering!

Z'nith:
In all your dreams, all your prayers, did you ever think something like this could really exist?

Z'nith:
I haven't used one of these in a long time. Too long.

Peak:
Then why did you challenge Dreadwing? He's a master at the zoomerang.

Z'nith:
A war with Dread will kill many Dragonators. Better that only one of us be at risk than *all* of us.

Dreadwing:
Attack and destroy, with extreme prejudice.

Dreadwing:
After I have eliminated Z'nith, I will grant you complete control of this valley. I have no use for such a place.

Z'nith:
Our reason for battle has gone up in smoke.

Dreadwing:
As long as Airlandis does not belong to me, Z'nith, our reason for battle will never be over.

[last lines]

Aaron:

[Peak does a stunt move on Wing Storm] Why can't you do that, Titan?

Apex:
Treat Titan with respect, Amod, and he'll give you everything he's got. You push him too hard, you'll lose him for good.

Amod:
An iron fist - that's the only thing these dragons understand.

Z'nith:
No way we could hold up an extended wind jam with tired mounts.

Amod:
Tired or not, they're here to serve us, not the other way around.

Amod:
[fails to pick up a pair of crystals] Just a dress rehearsal. Coming around for another try.

Peak:
I don't remember a dragon ever needing a dress rehearsal.

Amod:
Titan, I... I want to thank you for saving me - for saving all of us. And I'm sorry I was so harsh to you and your kind.

Apex:
The dragons are our partners, Amod, not our slaves. And I think they proved that today.

Peak:
Thanks for watching my back, big brother.

Z'nith:
I'm keeping tabs on your front too.

Summit:
Riptor, let's get outta here.

Apex:
[he roars] Riptor, please. Getting us all killed won't do him any good.

Summit:
We couldn't go back for him.

Peak:
Maybe you were too busy running the other way to try!

Summit:
We couldn't risk it.

Peak:
Z'nith wouldn't have left any one of us, no matter what the risk!

Apex:
That's enough, you two. Z'nith is still down there.

Peak:
I'm *sorry*!

Summit:
Wait a minute, that's Blackheart. What's he doing on him?

Peak:
Oh, don't you get it? He broke that two-time puppy like a bronco! Only my big brother is Dragon Fly enough to do that!

Peak:
[Apex warns him Z'nith doesn't recognize him as he shoots] That's impossible. I guess it isn't.

Peak:
[to Wing Storm] Let's kick it, Rip Wing.

Summit:
[aims to shoot Z'nith] I... I can't.

Z'nith:
Airlandis, hear the words of Darkwing son of Dread. You will return my father to his rightful place as supreme ruler as Airlandis. Defy me, and I will burn your city and seed the clouds with its ashes.

Peak:
Z'nith could never... would never.

Summit:
There's only one hitch. They'll outnumber us a hundred to one.

Peak:
I like those odds.

Apex:
[Nocturna searches for her] Peek-a-boo...

[Nocturna turns and sees her]

Apex:
I see you.

[attacks]

Summit:
[shooting the Gremwings] Didn't you mother tell you not to fly with your mouth open?

Dreadwing:
Kill him. Kill him now.

[Peak gasps as the canon is aimed at him; Z'nith hesitates]

Dreadwing:
KILL YOUR BROTHER!

Z'nith:
Brother?

[he winces and clasps his head groaning and turns back into himself]

Dreadwing:
[taking the cannon from him] If you don't, then I will.

Z'nith:
[taking it back] No. Let me do it.

[Peak shrinks from him; Z'nith turns it on Dreadwing and fires]

Dreadwing:
There's nothing so hurtful as an ungrateful child.

[last lines]

Peak:
He's still flying.

Aaron:
Yes.

Peak:
Why can't he forgive himself, Father?

Aaron:
From now until the stars burn out, the only thing you can count on is never knowing why. Give him time, Peak. Time to heal his wounds.

Dreadwing:
How do you plea?

Z'nith:
Plea? *You'll* plead for mercy before this is over.

Dreadwing:
The accused will only speak when spoken to. There will be silence permanently.

Apex:
Where do you think they lead?

Summit:
I don't know, but I'll tell you when we get there.

[jumps down]

Z'nith:
The accused accuses *you*, Dreadwing! For crimes against human and mutantkind!

Z'nith:
Whose side are you on, Nocturna?

Nocturna:
Yours for today, human. But I suggest you hurry in case I change my mind.

[last lines]

Nocturna:
Hm, and not bad-looking, for a human.

Nocturna:
Round and round and round they go. Where they stop they'll meet their foe.

Z'nith:
Let's show 'em a whole new way to hurt.

Nocturna:
Now why would the dragonators risk leaving Airlandis at night? That could be dangerous. You'll never know what you could run into in the dark.

Peak:
I'm not sure it's a good idea making Orac this happy... he might stop being grumpy all the time.

Skywatch member:
Dreadwing will never find us here.

Nocturna:
[climbing the rise to where they are] Maybe not Dreadwing, but I certainly will.

Skywatch member:
For once it feels so good to be standing on firm ground.

Nocturna:
[sneaks up and grabs him and his partner by the throat] And if you don't tell me what's going on this instant, I'll *bury* you in that firm ground.

Nocturna:
Why, Dread, it looks as if you've been beaten by a girl. And a baby.

[last lines]

Apex:
Please, give us another chance!

Z'nith:
[through the vox box] Apex, are you all right?

Apex:
Goodbye, little prince. Perhaps when you grow up, and *you* are king, we'll have that chance.

Z'nith:
Tell me, Father, is it everything you dreamed of?

Aaron:
That, and more.

Z'nith:
I wanted you to see if firsthand, before the settlers moved in. You deserved it. You looked for it for so long and you never gave up hope.

Aaron:
Never. I knew it was there. Because it was always - in here.

Lucy:
[Blaze Wind lands and startles the tridrag cub she sits on, causing it to run and knock her off] Whoa - ow! Oh, hi, Apex. You're probably looking for us, huh?

Apex:
Good guess, Lucy.

Peak:
[sarcastically] I live to make Orac happy.

Peak:
I need Dread's uglies blasting plasma at me to make life worth living.

Fryte:
Why don't you throw them into lava and be done with it?

Dreadwing:
Oh, Fryte, you really mustn't rush life's simple pleasures.

Aaron:
Fight it, Apex. You can do it. Be strong. If anything happens to my daughter, Dreadwing, I will hunt you down to the ends of the Earth.

Dreadwing:
Everyone into the po-ol. The lava's fine.

Dreadwing:
The tide will turn, and so will the Dragon Flyz when my mutagen dust turns them into monsters.

Tommy:
[quietly, turned away] Just like you.

Lucy:
Yeah, just like you.

Nocturna:
It's always a pleasure.

Z'nith:
It won't be a pleasure if you don't give us the children.

Dreadwing:
Nocturna. Naughty. You did not tell our guests here they'd be helpless, and alone.

Nocturna:
I said only you three!

Peak:
I guess we can't count. Just like a mutant can't tell the truth.

Apex:
So, who do I owe for saving we *this* time? And how much will is cost?

[last lines]

Tommy:
We're practically official dragonators! We can do everything a Dragon Fly can do!

Peak:
[putting his arm around Aaron's shoulders grinning] Uh-oh. And you thought *I* was trouble? The worst is yet to come.

[everyone laughs]

Gangrin:
It still needs a few minor adjustments. Some small refinements. In fact, I really don't think...

Dreadwing:
Stop thinking and boost the power!

Dreadwing:
Your miserable failures must end or I will end your miserable life!

Dreadwing:
He can't outrun the Gremwings, or his fate.

Z'nith:
Anyone running from Gremwings deserves a helping wing.

Orac:
This could be our chance to find out what makes Warnado tick, from the clockmaker himself.

Dreadwing:
Ah, Gangrin has lit the lamp of welcome. It would be ungracious to keep him waiting.

Apex:
[to Z'nith in prison] Sorry to interrupt your vacation but we need you back on the job.

Dreadwing:
Welcome to the beginning of your end, Dragon Flyz.

Aaron:
I just wanted to warn you.

Z'nith:
About Dreadwing?

Aaron:
No. Something far more powerful. A full eclipse of the sun, the first in the New Millennium.

Peak:
Eclipse, what's that?

Aaron:
It's when the moon completely covers the sun and casts the Earth into total darkness. A thousand years ago, an eclipse was harmless, an astronomical curiosity that brought on high tides, a slight change in weather, and millions of curious onlookers.

Apex:
But the Earth isn't what it used to be.

Aaron:
Thus my warning. With volcanic eruptions on the surface, warp winds, and catastrophic weather changes, I can't predict what effect a total eclipse will have on our world.

Peak:
I can't wait!

Apex:
I can.

Summit:
Do you know you have an attitude problem, Peak?

Peak:
Yeah, but it's just a little one.

Dreadwing:
What a magnificent day! Claps of thunder, bolts of lightning, savage winds. The Earth thrown into total darkness. Oh, what more could a mutant ask for?

Nocturna:
The Dragon Flyz.

Dreadwing:
Yes, the heads of all four Dragon Flyz. That would make this day eclipse all others.

Summit:
So what do we do now?

Z'nith:
[Blackheart and Dreadwing come up over the next rise straight for them] We take evasive action!

Summit:
[after Wing Storm was tossed by the wind into several backflips trying to rise] Nice skyhook, little brother.

Peak:
[amused] Was *that* what it was?

Nocturna:
[lands on Fryte's dragon just in front of him and physically contacts him] Take your talons off me.

Machine:
Your reward awaits.

Z'nith:
What does that mean?

Summit:
I don't know, but it's gotta be better than the reward Dread's got waiting for us.

Machine:
[slowing and deepening after Dreadwing shoots the door] Your... journey... has... ended.

Dreadwing:
No. It's just begun.

Machine:
[of Z'nith, Summit, and Peak] Caution, creator. They are one with the destroyers.

Apex:
They're just a little rowdy sometimes. I'll handle them.

Apex:
It seems the creators were women, and the men were classified as the destroyers.

Summit:
We're gonna be classified D.O.A. if we don't get outta here.

Machine:
Everything here belongs to you, creator.

Peak:
Still breakin' hearts. Looks like love at first sight.

Apex:
It saves a lot of time instead of dating.

Machine:
We obey the creator.

Apex:
Hey, I could get used to this, you know.

[the boys grin]

[last lines]

Apex:
Let's get out of here. I've had enough of the Old Earth for today.

Z'nith, Summit, Peak:
[robotically] We obey the creator.

Apex:
Oh, knock it off, you guys.

[the brothers laugh]

Z'nith:
[on Mt. Alayas] Oh, I thought mirages were something you only saw in a desert!

Apex:
It looks like a postcard - of paradise!

Doctor:
I've known Dax here for fifteen years. And I've never seen him so much as raise his voice, let alone raise a weapon.

Peak:
You've gotta believe me.

Z'nith:
Peak.

Peak:
There was this girl - but she wasn't a girl, I mean...

Z'nith:
Peak, it's me, Z'nith.

Peak:
I mean... she *was*, but then she wasn't, y-you gotta believe me.

Z'nith:
I believe you. What I don't believe is what's happening here.

Dreadwing:
Swamp in your horror and get ready to scream.

Dreadwing:
Dragons, I am part of you. We both share scale, not skin. So heed my words. Your human allies have surrendered. Set down at once, or they will be destroyed.

Dreadwing:
There is a price to pay for paradise.

Joshua:
Dreadwing, we've honored our side of the bargain.

Dreadwing:
That's because you're honorable men. I, on the other hand, am neither honorable, nor a man.

Dreadwing:
I never understood the concept of sacrifice. But since you offered yourself so willingly, I will take you up on your offer. And you can die with the others.

Aaron:
The air is the true enemy, not Dread.

Z'nith:
[to the fleeing mutants] You should stop and smell the flowers. But I guess you already did.

Z'nith:
[the crowd cheers for him] No, no. You have our father to thank for today's victory.

Aaron:
Yes, but it was your fears that gave me the answer, Z'nith.

Aaron:
For us, Alayas must remain a legend, never to be.

[last lines]

Joshua:
I know I pushed, Aaron, and for that I am sorry. In my own way, I may want to find a home place more than anyone.

Aaron:
We all want to, Joshua. And one day our feet will walk on solid ground. But in the meantime, the air up here smells especially sweet today.

Peak:
Hey, Gremwings, It's funny how three legs and two wings can add up to zero brain.

Peak:
Is that... her?

Z'nith:
Yes. It's our mother.

Apex:
That music. I remember it.

Aaron:
It was her favorite. She played it all the time.

Aranda:
Hello, my children. This message is for all of you. Z'nith, Summit, Apex, Peak, my baby.

Peak:
Mother?

Aranda:
And Aaron. This message is most of all for you. I'm sorry, my beloved. I know you don't agree with what I'm about to do. And if you're listening to this then you were probably right all along and I failed. But, you have to understand. If the Star Ridge is a gateway to another place, a new home for all of us, then it will be worth the risk.

Z'nith:
The Star Ridge is a portal.

Aranda:
I just want to say I love you all. Please take care of Peak. I know if he can forgive me, I will live in all your hearts, forever.

Aaron:
[Peak gasps and extends his hand to the hologram, it fades] Peak, you were barely a few months old when your mother recorded that holodisc seventeen years ago. She'd found the same area you stumbled on today, and she was so headstrong, so sure it was the answer to all our hopes and prayers. Now this, and my memories, are all I have left.

[Peak starts sobbing and runs from the room]

Z'nith:
Didn't you hear what Father said?

Peak:
No. I only heard what my mother said.

Apex:
Do you think after all these years there's still a chance she's alive?

Z'nith:
If there is, it's a chance we have to take. It looks like Mother's not the only one who's headstrong in this family.

Dram:
Where are they going?

Aaron:
Into the heart of something they don't understand.

Apex:
I'm sensing something, but... I have a very bad feeling about this place.

Peak:
Yeah. I have a bad feeling too. It's called betrayed, lied to.

Peak:
A face full of fangs never stopped me before.

Summit:
I think Wing Storm showed that beast a new way to fly... without wings.

Z'nith:
I don't know what we'll find in there but we have to be prepared for the worst.

Peak:
Worse than being deceived by your own father?

Peak:
Father gave up on her, but I won't.

Aaron:
I've already lost your mother to whatever lies on the other side of that portal, Peak. I won't lose you as well.

Dreadwing:
[Dram enters the building after the Dragon Flyz and Aaron] Oh, just in time for a tearful family reunion, just before I tear apart the family tree, limb by limb.

Dreadwing:
The entire Dragon Flyz clan is inside. What more could a Mutant wish for, except their extinction.

Aaron:
Peak, listen to me. Seventeen years. It's not possible your mother could've survived. She's gone, son. She's in a higher place than even Airlandis. Trust me.

Peak:
Trust *you*? How could I ever trust you again?

Apex:
Are you all right, Summit?

Summit:
Yeah. Only my pride's a little bruised.

Dreadwing:
Surrender now, and I promise, you will not be harmed.

Summit:
Something tells me he had his fingers crossed behind his back when he said that.

Dram:
[Z'nith's dragon tears apart the net holding him and the others'] I see why they call him Riptor. [laughs]

Aaron:
Peak, it was wrong of me to keep that disc from you. That was a mistake. I'm sorry.

[shakes his head]

Aaron:
Your mother loved you so much.

Peak:
I understand.

[last lines]

Aaron:
Peak, when you saw her, did she... say anything?

Peak:
She didn't have to. I saw it in her eyes. She's in the heart of that star. Somewhere. And she knows, Father. She knows we'll find her one day. And whenever that is, she'll be waiting for us. All of us.

[they hug]

Z'nith:
[Nocturna scratches him but not hard enough to draw blood] That should've been a slice-and-dice. Either Nocturna's down on her luck or she's up to no good.

Nocturna:
Don't let the fact that I'm female stop you from taking your best shot.

Z'nith:
You must be moving up in the underworld.

Nocturna:
No man is my master.

Summit:
I hope you bagged some beauties. It's getting pretty hot over here.

Zarkan:
Then I'm the ice man, Summit.

Fryte:
Fryte very scary.

Dreadwing:
Indeed you are, Fryte. I can barely look upon you myself.

Nocturna:
It was only a matter of seconds.

Dreadwing:
SECONDS? Cities are conquered, empires fall in a matter of seconds!

Dreadwing:
All I ever hear from you and your Dramen are how the Dragon Flyz tricked you, again and again and again!

Nocturna:
Don't say "again" again.

Dreadwing:
There are times we must reach deep inside ourselves to find forgiveness. But that time is not today.

Nocturna:
There can be only one. I'll be back to claim what is mine: Warnado and everything in it. Including you.

Summit:
Dread's been workin' overtime. It's time we put him to sleep.

Peak:
A beauty sleep is the only sleep Dread needs.

Nocturna:
I come in peace.

Peak:
Peace? Yeah, right! You've come to rip us to pieces, you mean!

Z'nith:
A treaty requires trust, which is something I don't have when it comes to you, Lady Blue.

Summit:
Z'nith, you can't trust her. She's worse than Dread.

Nocturna:
Much worse.

Z'nith:
If anything goes wrong, you'll know.

Peak:
If anything does, we'll be on her so fast she won't know what hit her!

Nocturna:
I have nothing, Z'nith. Nothing but the will to win.

Nocturna:
This is D-Day - the day we take down Dreadwing.

Summit:
What if we go in and it's a set-up - an ambush? We could end up trapped, with no way out.

Z'nith:
I hope not.

Summit:
That's no answer.

Z'nith:
For now, it's the only one I got.

Z'nith:
Nocturna's the only one who knows where we're going.

Summit:
I know where we're going, and it isn't pretty.

Dreadwing:
Get away from me, Nocturna.

Nocturna:
Why?

Dreadwing:
Because, pain hurts.

Z'nith:
If you kill Dread, you're as bad as he is.

Nocturna:
I told you before, I'm much worse.

Nocturna:
Why, Z'nith? It could have been ours. All of it.

Dreadwing:
You must forgive Nocturna, Z'nith. She's ruthless, bloodthirsty, and treacherous. That's why we work so well together.

[last lines]

Z'nith:
Things can change, Dread. We don't have to fight. We could make a truce. Live in peace.

Dreadwing:
No. Not as long as there's a breath in me. Not until there is only one ruler on the ground and in the air. ONE power to rule over Airlandis and Warnado. There can be only one. And that one is me.

[laughs]

Dreadwing:
I swear, if you fail me this time, you'll regret it for the rest of your life, which, by my calculations, won't be very long.

Dreadwing:
IT'S ALIVE!

Dreadwing:
I have risen from the ashes like a fiery phoenix, and now my burning flame of vengeance will scorch the flesh of Airlandis as the Dragon Flyz beg for mercy.

Dreadwing:
Nothing will stop my ascension.

Gangrin:
But the winds reach a velocity 3,000 miles an hour here.

Dreadwing:
Do you hear that, Gangrene? That's Airlandis trembling at our approach.

Dreadwing:
You see what you can do with a little faith in fear.

Dreadwing:
It appears somebody left a window open and let a Fly get in.

Nocturna:
His scream's mine.

Summit:
[catches the gun knocked out of Fryte's hands when he kicked him] For me? You shouldn't have.

Peak:
What if we can't get Summit out?

Z'nith:
Not an option.

Dreadwing:
You'll fall from grace, Dragon Fly. But don't worry, Z'nith - Airlandis will be right behind you.

Orac:
None of us are going to get any older than tomorrow, if we don't do something now!

Dreadwing:
I am invincible! I cannot die! I am forever!

Joshua:
We are lost.

Aaron:
Unless Summit is still alive.

Apex:
I know he is, Father. He's just waiting for his chance.

Nocturna:
Ooh, pain has a face, Dragon Fly. Allow me show it to you.

[last lines]

Z'nith:
Cue us in the next time you decide to stay at Hotel Dread without a reservation.

Summit:
I don't think I'll be stayin' there again. I didn't like the view. But I like the view from up here. [Aaron shakes his head and everyone else laughs]
