Mickey Kostmayer:
What do we need a diversion for? Just kick in the door and hose the room.

Robert McCall:

[McCall discovers that his colleague Kostmeyer, has been intimate with a woman that McCall asked him to protect]

Some years ago, a colleague of mine on a simple job, rather like this one, decided he was going to have a little bit of fun. During the course of that 'little bit of fun,' the opposition came in and destroyed them both! You were supposed to protect that girl, not seduce her.

[a police detective confronts McCall about a vigilante killing criminals in McCall's name]

Robert McCall:

Mickey Kostmayer:
Packing up. I figured you're here cause you need some whacko who's willing to stick his finger in the fan.

Robert McCall:
You know, when I was with the agency, these afternoon trysts used to bore me. Now, they irritate me.

Control:

[McCall grabs Joseph Morrison around the neck & thrusts him toward the video camera] You see that, Mr. Morrison? That's a camera! The destruction of your family is FINISHED! It is FINISHED! It is FINISHED! [Police officers charge in & arrest Joseph Morrison]

Robert McCall:
There's a... small operation, comes under the category of diversion and psychological warfare.

Billie Bump:
Well, you've come to the right man. It's like I always say, why break a dude's kneecaps, when you can mess with his mind?

Mickey Kostmayer:
Uh oh.

Yvette Marcel:

Mickey Kostmayer:

Return to sender. [He switches out a bomb-laden briefcase intended for McCall and his daughter with the bomber's own briefcase]

Frank Dorgan:

Limo Driver:
[handling a briefcase] Hey! This wasn't heavy before...

Frank Dorgan:
STOP THE CAR! IT'S A BOMB! [his own bomb in the birefcase annihilates him, two others and his car]

Mickey Kostmayer:
You told me something once, that I've never forgot. You said, the most powerful man you ever know, had an iron will, and a broken heart.

Robert McCall:
I must have been really drunk at the time.

Mickey Kostmayer:

Control:

Ah, it's a code name for a guy who used to be with the agency. You know I never knew McCall had such good taste in cars.

Scott McCall:
Why didn't dad tell me that in the first place, it would have saved a lot of time.

Mickey Kostmayer:

[after breaking into his ex's home] You're both dead! [Foxworth fires his gun at the silhouette of McCall & his ex, but discovers it is a cardboard cutout]

Robert McCall:
Foxworth! [another cardboard cutout, this one depicting McCall, swings towards Foxorth, who fires 4 rounds into it] Detective Bishop?!

Detective Bishop:
[appears in a doorway with 2 police officers, their guns levelled at Foxworth's head] Drop it Foxworth, you're under arrest! [The officers take Foxworth's gun & handcuff him]

Dr. Gary Foxworth:
[at Susan, who has emerged from a room with McCall] You......

Detective Bishop:
[to Susan] It's over. I think your ex-husband's going to prison for a long time.

Robert McCall:
All right Doctor. You want me without a bloody gun? You will HAVE me without a bloody gun!

Robert McCall:
6:30 am, November the 26th, 1973 Oh, Robert McCall, will you ever be free of that memory? Doubt it.

Control:
You have to be willing to pull back when necessary.

Robert McCall:

Mickey Kostmayer:

[Robert chuckles] You... are you telling me... that they are telling us... that this thing was made in outer space?

I just don't know.

Robert McCall:
Your name is not really Seti is it?

Wayne 'Seti' Virgil:
Why do you say that?

Robert McCall:
Because Seti is an acronym used by NASA. It means Search for extra-terrestrial intelligence.

Wayne 'Seti' Virgil:
My name is unpronounceable in your language.

Robert McCall:
Yes I see, I see. Look I, if I am to help you, I have the know a, who you are, and b, why you think anybody... anybody would want to hurt you in the first place.

Wayne 'Seti' Virgil:
I can't pronounce my name in this language, with this tongue.

Robert McCall:

Control:

Robert McCall:
Minimum? I didn't get any backup. Your fair haired young man, cut and ran as soon as the noise started.

Control:
He was operating to my instructions.

Robert McCall:
Your instructions to him were to bungle the cross over?

Control:
He was instructed to minimise his exposure. I wasn't going to blow his cover or the cover of any East Coast operative for a worthless defector.

Robert McCall:
Worthless?

Robert McCall:
[Stock enters the room] Stock! There's your worthless one.

Jacob Stock:
You have any complaints about me McCall?

Robert McCall:
Mister!... McCall. You are just a common garden variety coward, you're not even worth discussing.

Jacob Stock:
I was acting under orders.

Robert McCall:
Yes, orders. The famous excuse for brutality and cowardice.

Control:
[to McCall] You are not even on the payroll and you are causing me as much trouble as you ever did.

Robert McCall:
I'm a retired civil servant. I should keep my nose out of agency business, is that it?

Control:
There is nothing you can do about it.

Robert McCall:
Why do we do with this dirty job?

Control:

Well we want to help people. Some of us. I know I did. And that is why I resigned. I felt that I'd become trapped in some dirty little game that no body ever really won. And so I went into private life. That's a laugh.

Lt. Jefferson Burnett:

Lt. Jefferson Burnett:

So I suppose... heroes are the men who faced the most... trying situations and continue straight on. He had ideals. Those Ideals lead me into anything. You see I didn't care about dying. I only cared about the cause, the cause was everything. And I fooled everybody, everybody. They all thought I was fearless, which was false. I was so frightened of showing the slightest bit of myself, the smallest amount of affection. So you see Sam, I was as frightened then, for the same degree that you are now. Only in a different way. [Long pause] I was no hero. No hero. But then I suppose being a hero is not really the most important thing, is it?

How did life get to be so complex? Damn it! With you it's always so clear, there's you honour, duty... Doesn't your world have any shades of grey?

Robert McCall:
My world is nothing but shades of grey.

Control:
How long would it take you and Mickey to put together a team?

Mickey Kostmayer:
