Infinity

Infinity Soundtrack

The Burst Angel: Infinity OVA (2007) serves as a brief prequel to the 2004 broadcast series. Before Meg and Jo joined Sei and Amy in a vigilante group, they formed a partnership to survive on the mean streets and alleys of a future New York City. When Meg discovers that her friend Shirley was badly injured by a slasher-mecha controlled by a psychotic murderer, she and Jo swear to avenge the girl. Despite interference from the corrupt police force, the gun-toting duo succeeds in offing the bad guy after a protracted chase. Also known as The Angel's Second Coming, Infinity should have been included as an extra on a Burst Angel set. This disc also contains a "Battle Record" from the original series (a compilation of the fights, chases, and cheesecake shots), as well as the Japanese trailers for the OVA and the series. But packaging more than 100 minutes of extras with a 25-minute episode feels like case of the tail wagging--or, in this case, jiggling--the dog. (Rated TV 14: violence, violence against women, grotesque imagery) --Charles Solomon
