Andrew Norman Wilson (born 27 October 1950), is an English writer, known for his critical biographies, novels and works of popular and cultural history. After ten years as a teacher (first as a schoolmaster at Merchant Taylors, later teaching medieval literature at New College and St Hugh's Colleges, Oxford) he became a journalist and writer. He was Literary Editor of both The Spectator and the Evening Standard and contributed to the Daily Mail, Times Literary Supplement, New Statesman and The Observer
