[Horatio is confronting the corrupt judge in his chambers]

Lieutenant Horatio Caine:
Marta Argenta was your daughter, Your Honor.

Chief Judge Joseph Ratner:
Sorry Lieutenant, that name doesn't ring a bell.

Lieutenant Horatio Caine:
She was murdered and buried on a property.

Chief Judge Joseph Ratner:
Now Caine, where'd you dig that up?

Lieutenant Horatio Caine:
Gary Logan's backyard, your honor.

Chief Judge Joseph Ratner:
Now that's what happened to that girl! She did call a few times, yes, said she was my daughter. But why should I believe a teenage runaway...

Lieutenant Horatio Caine:
[cuts him off angrily] That's why you paid Gary Logan to have her killed.

Chief Judge Joseph Ratner:
All right Caine, that's enough. I've had enough of your accusations, you get out of my chambers!

Lieutenant Horatio Caine:
I hate to inform you, your honor, that these are NO LONGER your chambers.

Chief Judge Joseph Ratner:
[smugly] Now you know there's no way you're gonna prove all this in court.

Lieutenant Horatio Caine:
Gary Logan held onto Marta's body for just such a reason, so you see, I can.

Chief Judge Joseph Ratner:
[sneering] Caine, you oughtta know better than that. You can't touch me.

Lieutenant Horatio Caine:
Your Honor, I don't have the slightest desire to.

[2 police officers move to either side of the judge, and pull his hands behind his back to handcuff him]

Lieutenant Horatio Caine:
You're under arrest.

Chief Judge Joseph Ratner:
[as he is being handcuffed] Don't think this is over, Caine. I got the best legal mind there is.

Lieutenant Horatio Caine:
You're going to need it.

[Horatio watches as the small group of officers marches the handcuffed judge out to their cars for transportation to jail]

Det. Mac Taylor:
Found this in the elevator shaft. There's no hilt, which means it doesn't leave a mark.

Doorman Kevin Dowell:
Anybody could have stabbed him.

Det. Mac Taylor:
When our lab tests the blood on your uniform and it matches Michael Jr.'s, that "anyone" becomes you. Specificity of DNA. You got back on the elevator, you dropped this down the shaft. Unfortunately for you, you dropped something else.

[Mac pulls out an evidence baggie]

Det. Mac Taylor:
Would you mind holding up your arms, please?

[Kevin holds up his arms, and Mac compares the tassel to his uniform]

Det. Mac Taylor:
Missing tassel. I imagine when you were wiping the blood off, the tassel was severed. You're the only doorman in Michael Hanover, Sr.'s last will and testament. The lawyers released it after we picked you up. There's an interesting thing here on page fifty-one. "For saving my life by administering emergency CPR when I sustained a heart attack, keeping me alive until the paramedics arrived, I leave the sum of one million dollars to Kevin Dowell, payable in full upon my death."

[flashback]

Michael Hanover, Sr.:
A million, Kevin. You're in my will.

[present]

Det. Mac Taylor:
Only you got impatient. Tried to speed up the process. So you had Hanover killed. That brings us to Penrod. Monster like him, what's his connection to a hardworking guy like you?

Doorman Kevin Dowell:
Every good doorman needs a dealer. He's been mine for ten years. Drugs, women. Every kind of kink, you name it. Got to keep the tenants happy. There's nothing Penrod won't do.

Det. Mac Taylor:
For a price.

[cut scene of Horatio arresting Penrod]

Davey Penrod:
I don't know what you're talking about

Lieutenant Horatio Caine:
I'm talking about murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

[flashback]

Davey Penrod:
[on the phone] Now, I told you. Half a mil and I'm in. All right, now give me the address. All right, hold on. Seven-oh-two Star Island. Now, I got an ID. Don't worry. Got a lowlife nobody'll miss.

Det. Mac Taylor:
[to Dowell] That "lowlife" was an undercover New York City police officer. You couldn't have drawn more attention if you'd sent up a flare.

Cell Phone Bomber:
You found my phone?

Tim Speedle:
Have a seat. You had lunch at the Wayfarer Grill today?

Cell Phone Bomber:
Shark steak.

Tim Speedle:
Sounds delicious. A valet attendant stole your phone from your car.

Cell Phone Bomber:
I was thinking someone from the gym stole it. So, where is it?

[Speedle dumps evidence baggies containing pieces of said phone on the table]

Cell Phone Bomber:
Man!

Tim Speedle:
Probably doesn't look the same.

Cell Phone Bomber:
No warranty.

Tim Speedle:
That sucks. You do realize that you blew up your own cell phone by putting explosives in it.

Cell Phone Bomber:
In the phone's battery compartment.

Tim Speedle:
So, what are you, crazy?

Cell Phone Bomber:
Hey, look. Some guys like to keep alcohol in their car, video games. I like to go to the Everglades, blow things up. It's... it's a sport.

Tim Speedle:
It's a sport?

Cell Phone Bomber:
It's fun. Like fireworks. It doesn't hurt anybody. You know, where's the harm? It's not like I'm a terrorist or anything.

Tim Speedle:
Well, you're looking at three years, minimum.

Cell Phone Bomber:
I bought all the ingredients legally.

Tim Speedle:
That doesn't matter. Possessing or manufacturing an explosive device is a felony.

Cell Phone Bomber:
This is all 'cause some guy ripped me off?

Tim Speedle:
That guy died of unrelated causes, but your bomb almost killed our medical examiner.

Cell Phone Bomber:
Now, this... this isn't fair.

Alexx Woods:
[entering] Want to talk about fair?

[Alexx puts a pair of pictures down on the table]

Cell Phone Bomber:
Who are they?

Alexx Woods:
My kids. They almost lost their mother because you like to blow things up. So tell me, is that fair?

Detective Yelina Salas:
Hey. You sounded urgent. What's up?

Lieutenant Horatio Caine:
Have a seat. Okay?

Detective Yelina Salas:
Okay.

[Horatio and Yelina sit down]

Detective Yelina Salas:
That look in your eyes. I've only seen it once before.

Lieutenant Horatio Caine:
Suzie Barnam, Yelina.

Detective Yelina Salas:
From the elevator. Yes, um... I already told you, you don't have to explain yourself.

Lieutenant Horatio Caine:
I mentioned that there are complications with Suzie, didn't I? And there are.

Detective Yelina Salas:
Yes?

Lieutenant Horatio Caine:
Madison is not my daughter.

Detective Yelina Salas:
What do you mean, not your daughter? She looks just like...

[realization dawns on Yelina]

Detective Yelina Salas:
Ray?

Lieutenant Horatio Caine:
I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, Yelina.

Detective Yelina Salas:
But... how long have you known?

Lieutenant Horatio Caine:
I've known all along.

Detective Yelina Salas:
Then why... why tell me now?

Lieutenant Horatio Caine:
Madison is sick. She needs a bone marrow transplant, and it turns out that I'm not a match. But she does need a relative as a donor.

Detective Yelina Salas:
I'm no relative to that girl.

Lieutenant Horatio Caine:
I know that.

Detective Yelina Salas:
Ray Jr.? What Ray did is what Ray did. My son - his son - shouldn't have to pay for it. I won't let him.

Lieutenant Horatio Caine:
Yelina, the child could die.

Detective Yelina Salas:
I can't.

Lieutenant Horatio Caine:
Whether we like it or not, Madison is family.

Detective Yelina Salas:
[firmly] Not my family.
