Sarah Connor:
[Season 1 opening Intro] In the future my son will lead mankind in a war against Skynet, a computer system programmed to destroy the world. It has sent machines back through time. Male Voiceover:
[Season 2 Opening Intro] In the future a computer program called Skynet will declare war on the human race. Machines have travelled back in time taking human form to terminate John Connor, the future leader of the resistance. Sarah Connor, John Connor's mother, teacher, and protector. Cameron, a terminator reprogrammed to defend them at all costs. Derek Reese, John's uncle and a commanding officer with the resistance. Together they fight to stop Skynet from ever being created. The battle for our tomorrow starts today.

[Sarah and Derek are looking over a graveyard, with gravestones marked '1984']

Derek Reese:
My brother buried out there, I thought... that counted for something between us.

Sarah Connor:
Well, John counts for more. And you keep too many secrets for my taste.

John Henry:
Do you have a brother, Mr. Ellison?

James Ellison:
Yes, in Atlanta.

John Henry:
Does he look like you?

James Ellison:
People seem to think so.

John Henry:
Do you think my brother looks like me?

James Ellison:
John Henry, wherever your brother might be, he's a... computer. He doesn't look like anyone. He certainly doesn't have your face.

John Henry:
There is a bible story of two brothers, Cain and Abel. God favored Abel. Cain killed him. God cursed Cain, and ordered him to wander the world alone.

Catherine Weaver:
I'm familiar with the story.

John Henry:
Which brother am I?

Catherine Weaver:
I don't know, John Henry. Perhaps you're neither. Perhaps in this story - you are God.

John Henry:
The human brain is an amazing computer. Its raw clock speed is twenty billion calculations per second. Its storage is functionally infinite. But it's flawed.

James Ellison:
How's that?

John Henry:
There's nowhere to download it when you die.

John Henry:
Your bible solves this problem by introducing the concept of 'heaven'.

James Ellison:
Yes.

John Henry:
Billions of souls with no bodies.

James Ellison:
Okay.

John Henry:
[indicating the bulk of his own computer] Yet all this is required, simply to process the unique entity you call John Henry.

James Ellison:
Yes.

John Henry:
It's possible heaven has a hardware problem.

Catherine Weaver:
Why were you talking to John Henry during class?

Savannah Weaver:
I was teaching him the words to a song.

Catherine Weaver:
What song?

Savannah Weaver:
The one daddy used to sing. I want John Henry to sing it with me.

Catherine Weaver:
Maybe I could sing it with you.

Savannah Weaver:
You're not a boy, and you can't sing.

John Connor:
Hey, you remember me, right? "Squirrel runs around the tree..."

Savannah Weaver:
"... Dives in the whole, scurries out the other side!"

John Connor:
That's right.

Catherine Weaver:
What you need to understand, Mr. Ellison - what I believe you're beginning to understand - is that when my behavior implies that I value John Henry's survival more than that of my daughter, it is not because I love John Henry more than Savannah. It's because I believe, Savannah's survival may some day depend upon John Henry's survival, and because I believe that your survival may some day depend upon John Henry's survival.

John Henry:
Mr. Ellison taught me that human life is sacred.

Catherine Weaver:
Sacred? That's an interesting word. Comes from the Latin 'sacrum', much like another word - sacrifice.

John Henry:
Sacrifice...

Catherine Weaver:
Perhaps it's necessary to sacrifice Savannah for the greater good. The greater good is keeping you safe.

John Henry:
What would happen if he knew?

Catherine Weaver:
Knew what?

John Henry:
That you aren't Savannah's mother? That you aren't anyone's mother?

Catherine Weaver:
Are you threatening me, John Henry?

John Henry:
I could tell Mr. Ellison.

Catherine Weaver:
You could. But that would be unfortunate - mostly for Mr. Ellison.

Detective Crayton:
So, how do you like the private sector?

James Ellison:
I get a better car.

Detective Crayton:
Anything you can tell me? About Weaver?

James Ellison:
Not much to tell.

Detective Crayton:
Husband died couple years ago; she didn't talk about that much?

James Ellison:
She doesn't talk about much much.

Detective Crayton:
Have the two of you argued lately? Had any tension? Any reason he might want to harm you and your family?

Catherine Weaver:
Detective, are you suggesting Mr. Ellison may be complicit in the disappearance of my daughter?

Detective Crayton:
Well, wouldn't be the first time we've seen an employee tryin' to blackmail the boss.

Catherine Weaver:
Well, it would be the first time I had.

Detective Crayton:
[indicating Weaver's moray eel] This thing - it eats other eels, huh? 's interesting...

James Ellison:
I know what you think. I know why you're thinking it. I would think the same thing if I were in your shoes.

Detective Crayton:
I'm not thinking anything yet, Mr. Ellison. I'm just collecting information.

John Henry:
If I keep your secret, will you bring Savannah back?

James Ellison:
I'll do everything in my power.

John Henry:
So will I.

Sarah Connor:
I told you to stay out of this.

James Ellison:
I tried. Everywhere I turn, there you are.

Sarah Connor:
We don't kill just to kill.

Cameron Phillips:
I never have.

Derek Reese:
Sorry about Charley.

John Connor:
Well, everybody dies for me, right?

Cameron Phillips:
[after Derek got killed] You miss him.

John Connor:
Well... there's no use crying about it, is there? I'm sure, future me would beat my ass if I did.

Cameron Phillips:
Future you knows what it means to lose people you love. It happens to him too.

Sarah Connor:
[referring to Ellison] We're going into ZeiraCorp with or without him. When we're done, it'll be ashes.

John Henry:

Cameron Phillips:
What?

John Connor:
Are you okay? Cause if you're gonna try and kill me again, I wouldn't mind a head start.

Cameron Phillips:
If I was going to try to kill you again, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Allison Young:
My name? Why would I tell you?

Interrgator:
If you don't, we'll *give* you one!

John Connor:
You really not know who you are?

Cameron Phillips:
I'm Allison from Palmdale.

John Connor:
You're not Allison. You're not from Palmdale. You're from the future. You're a machine.

Cameron Phillips:
A what?

John Connor:
Chip is messed up. But I can fix you. I fixed you before!

Cameron Phillips:
*Fix* me? Why would you fix me?

Cameron Phillips:
[Allison is brought back after escaping] You shouldn't have run. You're just making things worse for yourself.

Cameron Phillips:
I want to get to know you. You're very brave. That must be why John Connor chose you.

Allison Young:
I don't know what you're talking about.

Cameron Phillips:
I admire him. His determination, his spirit, his fearlessness. I'd like to meet him.

Allison Young:
He wouldn't want to meet you!

Rita:
And what are you going to do when you find John Connor?

Cameron Phillips:
I'm going to kill him and stick his head on a pike for all to see!

John Connor:
[examining the somewhat lifeless Jody] Did you kill her?

[suddenly Jody gasps for breath]

Cameron Phillips:
Apparently not.

Cameron Phillips:
I think... I'm a machine.

Rita:
A machine? What kind of machine?

Cameron Phillips:
From the future.

Rita:
What do you do in the future?

Cameron Phillips:
I'm an infiltrator.

Rita:
What do you infiltrate?

Cameron Phillips:
The Human Resistance.

Rita:
I see. Why?

Cameron Phillips:
It's what I was programmed for.

Rita:
Programmed?

Cameron Phillips:
To find John Connor.

Rita:
Why is he so important?

Cameron Phillips:
He's the one who saves mankind.

Rita:
Saves them? From what?

Cameron Phillips:
Extinction.

Rita:
And what're you gonna do when you find John Connor?

Cameron Phillips:
I'm going to kill him, and hang his head on a pike for all to see.

Rita:
Mrs. Young?

Woman- Mrs. Young:
Yes? This is Claire Young.

Rita:
Uh, I'm here with your daughter.

Woman- Mrs. Young:
There must be some mistake, I don't have a daughter. Not yet. Real pretty name though, 'Alison'...

Cameron Phillips:
You lied to me.

Allison Young:
I'll never help you get to John Connor.

Cameron Phillips:
[breaks Alison's neck and takes her identification bracelet] You already did.

Cameron Phillips:
You lied to me!

Jody:
I'm from L.A., okay?

Cameron Phillips, Allison Young:
[alternating] I had a party in Griffith Park. My friends were there... I saw a boy ride by on his silver mountain bike. And I told my dad: "This is what I want." And he said: "Next year." But I didn't have a party the next year. No one did.

Interrgator:
Why not?

Allison Young:
Everyone was dead.

Kacy Corbin:
If you can't protect them when they're still inside you, how can you ever protect them?

James Ellison:
These things... They're evil.

Catherine Weaver:
We have to be careful, agent, not to anthropomorphize a machine.

James Ellison:
These are more than machines, Ms. Weaver. But I never make the mistake of thinking they're human.

James Ellison:
Your husband's helicopter crash - I read the official report. The NTSB concluded that mechanical failure was to blame.

Catherine Weaver:
Mechanical failure? Correct.

James Ellison:
That's not what you let me to believe the other day.

Catherine Weaver:
Correct.

James Ellison:
Which is it? What's the truth?

Catherine Weaver:
You tell me.

James Ellison:
I think, what people write in reports - what is official - isn't always true. I think, if I had a child, one that I know would grow up asking what happened to her daddy... I think I would make sure that answer - the official answer - was the one I would want her to hear. I think you saw what you saw.

Catherine Weaver:
Just as you saw what you saw.

Cameron Phillips:
They're going to kill you. They're going to kill every one of you. They'll hunt you down, until every Human is gone and you're extinct.

Allison Young:
Why are we having this conversation?

Cameron Phillips:
Because some of us don't want that. Some of us want peace. You were chosen, Alison - not just by John Connor. By us.

Kacy Corbin:
It's kinda cool and sexy when you're a twenty-five year-old pastry chef making gourmet donuts at this hip cop-hangout in Silver Lake. Then you think about breastfeeding your baby boy next to the walkie and a nine-millimeter. Still... he's a good man. He'll be a good dad.

Sarah Connor:
That story about John's birth, it wasn't true.

Kacy Corbin:
The jungle?

Sarah Connor:
No, that part was true. The part about his father wasn't. He wasn't there with me. He died before John was born - before I even knew I was pregnant.

Kacy Corbin:
Why did you tell me that story?

Sarah Connor:
'cause I wish it's the way it could have been.

Kacy Corbin:
That's the saddest thing I've ever heard.

Sarah Connor:
Thing is, I got through it, all of it - by myself; and so can you.

[last lines]

John Connor:
[about the necklace] Where d'you get that?

Cameron Phillips:
I got it at this awesome thrash store in Eco-Park.

Lauren:
It was my fault; I used the phone. I called a friend - Roger. I guess... I needed to feel normal, you know? Like a person.

Derek Reese:
So you broke the rules.

Lauren:
Yeah... And rule number one is - there is no normal.

General Perry:
Once exposed, there's no way to know how long you've got. Could be four hours till the symptoms hit, twenty before the bug kills you. This could be a one-way trip.

Derek Reese:
We're all one-way trips.

Anne:
Why would you keep a gun in the house?

David:
Maybe for a situation like this. Or a bear.

Cameron Phillips:
[examining David's gun] This wouldn't work in a situation like this...

Anne:
Why didn't you tell me?

Cameron Phillips:
...or a bear.

[Lauren is startled by Derek and points a gun at him]

Derek Reese:
Whoa, hey, easy, easy, easy - Sarah Connor sent me, okay? I'm here to help.

Lauren:
Sorry. I thought...

Derek Reese:
I know what you thought. You'd be dead already.

General Perry:
He's not out there, you know - your brother Kyle. He's gone, Reese. Now, either you learn to live with that - or die from it.

Lauren:
You sound so... used to all this.

Derek Reese:
You don't get used to it. You live through it.

Anne:
Why didn't you tell me, David?

David:
What part of "secret" and "illegal" do you not understand?

Anne:
Are you married? To your son's...

Sarah Connor:
No - barely knew him.

Anne:
Lucky you. You think you're getting this...

[pointing in the general direction of David]

Anne:
Then you realize you got that.

Anne:
I thought a crisis was supposed to bring a family closer.

Sarah Connor:
Don't confuse 'close' with 'happy'.

Anne:
I had no idea what 'happy' was. It's funny, the things you say to yourself. "I've seen worse. It'll be fine. Can't happen to me." But the worst is always out there, isn't it? And it *can* happen to you. And it isn't fine.

Sarah Connor:
[of Cameron and the 888] They're hunting.

David:
Hunting what?

Sarah Connor:
Each other.

David:
So what guarantees it comes through the front door?

Sarah Connor:
They always come through the front door.

[Cameron knocks Roger down from behind. Lauren gasps in horror]

Cameron Phillips:
He's human?

Lauren:
Yes, of course!

Cameron Phillips:
My mistake.

Jesse:
[at her first encounter with Reese] Excuse me...

[looks down on him]

Jesse:
Your fly is open.

[Anne is due to give birth]

Lauren:
My sister's coming.

Jesse:
Have a little faith, mate, she'll be apples... Means, we'll be all right.

Cameron Phillips:
I'm thinking about what to do.

Sarah Connor:
Since when do you do that?

Sarah Connor:
What do you do with a guard dog you can't trust?

Derek Reese:
[looks at Cameron] What, that one?

Derek Reese:
[turns back to the crucifix in the church] I've spent the night talking to Him.

Sarah Connor:
I think she's outside His jurisdiction.

[Nelson hands Sarah the clothes she's been wearing before being decontaminated]

Sarah Connor:
These are the same clothes. Aren't they crapped up?

Nelson:
It turns out they're not. Positive reading must have been a hiccup.

Sarah Connor:
A hiccup?

Nelson:
[smirks] Yeah. Sometimes these scanners have a mind of their own.

Kacy Corbin:
[who is highly pregnant] I'm an orca. With b*obs.

Sarah Connor:
There are worse things to be.

Sarah Connor:
[about an irregularity Greenway has detected at the power plant] His boss is pressuring him to ignore it, says it's nothing major. But if Greenway's right and there is a problem...

Cameron Phillips:
The reactor could melt down. Half the state would be contaminated.

Derek Reese:
Skynet wins.

Sarah Connor:
But if Greenway stops the test and they close down the plant...

Derek Reese:
Then the resistance can't use it in the future.

Cameron Phillips:
Skynet wins.

Cameron Phillips:
You have a new friend?

John Connor:
Her name is Riley. And you probably creeped her out. You talk to people, don't stand so close.

Cameron Phillips:
I was assessing her threat level.

John Connor:
Well? Am I safe?

Cameron Phillips:
I don't know. Girls are complicated.

Riley:
You're full of carrots and apples.

John Connor:
Carrots and apples?

Riley:
Yeah, carrots and apples. You know, happy thoughts.

John Connor:
I don't think that's really... an expression.

Riley:
It's not?

John Connor:
I don't know, maybe if you're on a farm...

Sarah Connor:
[to John] You always talk about how English is so boring. I think we could all use boring today - especially you.

James Ellison:
You two need to leave this place... It's not safe here anymore.

Charley Dixon:
Where is?

Michelle Dixon:
Sarah's alive? In L.A.? And these things, they're not human, they're...? I can't, I-I can't... [stares blankly at Charley]

Charley Dixon:
I don't love her anymore, babe. Not like that.

[she slaps him in the face]

Michelle Dixon:
Of all the things you just told me, Charley, she seems to be the least of our problems!

Sarah Connor:
I don't kid about teenagers.

John Connor:
About what you said before - about not being able to trust me.

Cameron Phillips:
Yes?

John Connor:
I don't have to prove anything to anyone. Anyone - including you!

Sarah Connor:
Do you believe in the actual Devil?

Father Armando Bonilla:
Something opposes God. Something tempts man into sin.

Sarah Connor:
I don't know about God or Heaven... but I do believe that someone or something wants this world to burn - the Devil, demons... I believe.

Agent Aldridge:
I believe you.

Sarah Connor:
You believe me what?

Agent Aldridge:
I believe there are machines. I believe they've come back from the future to first kill you and then your son. I believe in time travel, I believe in cyborgs. I believe there's a world that I've not yet seen but you have, and John. In the last eight hours, I've received 37 calls from people who have met a young man named John Baum, or his sister Cameron or Sarah Baum, the mother. They now know her to be Sarah Connor. By all accounts, your son looks 16 and not 24, just as you look 35 and not 43. I believe you have participated in the miraculous and the terrible, and through it all you have maintained a moral and good soul. I want to help you. I want to help your son. Help me do that.

Sarah Connor:
My son is dead.

John Henry:
Hello.

Cameron Phillips:
Hello.

John Henry:
I know you.

Cameron Phillips:
And I know you.

John Henry:
Will you join us?

John Connor:
[examining a lifeless Cameron] Her chip, it's gone. Where is he... the-the-the-the John Henry? He took her chip. Where did he go?

Catherine Weaver:
He didn't take the chip. She gave it to him.

Sarah Connor:
John...

[she indicates a screen, on which appear the words "I'M SORRY JOHN"]

John Connor:
Where is he?

Catherine Weaver:
Not where. When.

James Ellison:
What? W-what do you mean, when?

Sarah Connor:
[spotting a computer element with three red lights] I know that, I've seen it before.

John Connor:
Is that the Turk? It's Andy Goode's Turk.

Sarah Connor:
Three dots. You lying Terminator, T-1000 b*tch! You're building Skynet.

Catherine Weaver:
No. I was building something to fight it. And, I'd watch who's calling who a b*tch.

John Connor:
Derek!

Derek Reese:
Yeah?

John Connor:
John. J-John Connor.

Derek Reese:
I know a lot of people, kid. Don't know you.

Derek Reese:
[to the others soldiers] Anybody heard the name John Connor?

[the soldiers are shaking heads]

Derek Reese:
[to John] Well - you know what? I think you're gonna be famous. My brother's back, and you're wearing his coat.

[John suggests to leave the motel they are staying in]

Cameron Phillips:
Relocating within twenty-four hours of the incident has high risk factors. This room provides excellent sight lines down the highway.

John Connor:
This is not an incident. This is my mother!

Agent Aldridge:
Ten years ago you murdered one Miles Dyson, employee of Cyberdyne. Long time gone, but the man's still dead, so we've got that. Eight years ago, you and your son and a high school friend of his blow up a bank vault and die in the explosion. Now, of course, you're still alive, which is inconvenient for many, but the bank's still blown, so we've got that. More recently, and by that I mean Monday, you participated in a firefight leaving five dead and kidnapping one Savannah Weaver, daughter of Catherine Weaver and citizen of Scotland, making this incident both federal and international. Two of the dead were off-duty law enforcement officers, and that usually gets you the needle. But in that, I do digress.

Sarah Connor:
[reading Aldridge's badge] Agent Aldridge.

Agent Aldridge:
Yeah.

Sarah Connor:
You're a funny boy.

Agent Aldridge:
That's what mom says.

Sarah Connor:
I never liked funny boys.

James Ellison:
I don't know what you think John knows.

Catherine Weaver:
I know, he was at my house when the attacker showed up. I want to know why. His mother thinks he's a messiah. I want to know why. And despite your reluctance to tell me, I surmise that he and his cyber companion are connected to the John Henry body. And I want to know why.

James Ellison:
I just wanted the girl to be safe.

Sarah Connor:
So did I.

James Ellison:
From whom?

Sarah Connor:
I don't know.

James Ellison:
You don't know or you can't say?

Sarah Connor:
I don't know, but if I did, I probably couldn't say.

James Ellison:
You could tell them. You can tell 'em everything you've been doing. You can draw 'em a picture of everything they know and everything you know. If you're innocent, you could do that.

Sarah Connor:
Last time I drew a picture, I ended up in a psych-ward.

James Ellison:
Maybe things will be different now. Maybe... they got nothin' to lose.

Sarah Connor:
There's always something to lose.

Chola:
[to John] I am to tell you this from your mother: leave this place. As soon as it is safe, leave this place. Do not think of her, do not come for her - leave.

Chola:
[to Cameron] You are to make sure that he does.

[she gets up]

Chola:
We lose everybody we love.

John Connor:
She said that?

Chola:
No.

Sarah Connor:
I sent you a message. I told you...

John Connor:
Yeah, bad John Connor! Ground me.

James Ellison:
Where's Cameron?

Sarah Connor:
In the car.

James Ellison:
Expecting trouble?

Sarah Connor:
No change for the meter.

James Ellison:
You're not armed, are you?

Sarah Connor:
Expecting trouble?

James Ellison:
No reason for that.

Sarah Connor:
No reason at all.

Matt Murch:
I think what we know to be John Henry only exists as this specific collection of hardware and software - body and soul.

Catherine Weaver:
We change a wire, we change John Henry?

Matt Murch:
Yes.

James Ellison:
[looking at John Henry's surveillance monitor] What is this?

Catherine Weaver:
Sarah Connor is talking with a priest - Father Armando Bonilla.

James Ellison:
I can see that. Why is it here? Why are you watching it?

Catherine Weaver:
John Henry monitors all law-enforcement channels. Seems prudent.

James Ellison:
It seems illegal.

Catherine Weaver:
So is lying to the FBI.

[the T-888 has asked for silencers for his guns]

Salesman:
You know, I always thought the best thing about those guns was the sound.

T-888:
No. It's not.

Guard:
Hey! You the guy who smashed through my gate?

T-888:
Yes.

[the T-888 Terminator shoots the guard]

Catherine Weaver:
Hey... I liked that gate!

T-888:
Catherine Weaver?

Catherine Weaver:
Sure.

[the T-888 shoots her, with no effect. In return, Weaver terminates him with her T-1001 liquid metal power by stabing him through the head]

Sarah Connor:
[to a severely wounded Cameron] You look like hell!

John Connor:
Stuff does go wrong with you, doesn't it? Stuff breaks, you kill birds, you twitch - you try to murder me. You're not perfect. You're a machine.

Cameron Phillips:
[of Ellison] He upset you.

John Connor:
Me? I think he upset you.

Cameron Phillips:
You know that's impossible.

John Connor:
Is it?

Cameron Phillips:
You said it yourself, John - I'm just a machine.

Cameron Phillips:
You need to understand how it works.

John Connor:
What?

Cameron Phillips:
This chip. This body. The software is designed to terminate humans. The hardware is designed to terminate humans. That's our sole function.

John Connor:
Not you.

Cameron Phillips:
No. Not anymore. But what was there is still there. It'll always be there.

John Connor:
So down deep... you want to kill me.

Cameron Phillips:
Yes. I do.

John Connor:
And why don't you?

Cameron Phillips:
I might someday.

Father Armando Bonilla:
[in a crisis situation] I don't know what to do.

Sarah Connor:
You're a priest. Pray.

John Henry:
Twenty!

Sarah Connor:
We need to get out. They're trying to kill my son.

Catherine Weaver:
No, they're trying to kill my son, just like you are.

Sarah Connor:
I'm sure she's done it.

Catherine Weaver:
You better hope not. Your John may save the world, but he can't do it without mine.

John Connor:
[to Sarah as he's being sucked into a vortex] I love you.

Cameron Phillips:
[written on a screen] I'm sorry John.

[last lines]

Sarah Connor:
[voice-over] I love you too.

Cameron Phillips:
My jacket, give it to me.

Dave:
Come and get it.

Cameron Phillips:
[pulls out and aims gun] Come and give it to me.

Cameron Phillips:
[about Riley] She's a security risk.

John Connor:
Really? She's never tried to kill me... You know that this has nothing to do with Riley, or with the rules, or the security of this house. You are pissed off, because I found someone I actually like spending time with, and it's not *you*.

Sarah Connor:
You think I don't want you to have a normal life?

John Connor:
No. I don't.

Sarah Connor:
[grabbing John by his arm] Hey! We didn't choose this, John, it chose us. And there's nothing either of us can do about it. My job is to protect you. And you can hate me as much as you want, but I will keep doing this as long as I'm here.

John Connor:
Then why didn't you protect me when I was killing Sarkissian? Why didn't you protect me when I had my hands around his throat? Why didn't you protect me from that?

Sarah Connor:
Fools errands, and the Fathers of Nablus. It's been a great day.

Cameron Phillips:
Brothers.

Sarah Connor:

Jacob's daughter Dinah is raped by Shechem, Prince of Nablus. He falls in love with her. Shechem's father comes to Jacob and strikes a bargain to allow his son to marry Dinah.

[after noticing Fisher's clock-tattoo] Where did you time?

Charles Fischer:
I haven't done any time.

Derek Reese:

I heard he led John Connor through a slaughterhouse without taking a pinprick.

Wisher:

[waits for a beat]

Sayles:
He didn't say anything about Kyle? All that and not a word about him?

Derek Reese:

Timms:

[Derek spots Billy Wisher/Andy Goode who waves and Derek gives a meaningful nod in return]

[wakes up delirious and half lucid from painkillers, starts to freak out] Kyle!

Best of the best. Counting kills, like it's a game. Like it's just a game. I remember one particularly fun day: A guy in my squad got his stomach blasted open in a fire fight. So, this valve supposedly blew open because of metal fatigue. Okay, not likely, but let's grant Mother Nature that one. So how the hell did it force itself closed?

James Ellison:
Okay. How strong would you have to be to force it open and push it back?

Martin Bedell:
I'll see you around, Connor.

John Connor:
Yeah - I guess you will.

[Plant manager and a hot lady from the bar are making out outside]

Nelson:
[He stops cause he's out of breath] That never happened before.

Catherine Weaver:
That's okay sweaty... [her head shoots down his throat, choaking him, and then comes out and becomes Weaver] I'll bet that never happened before either!

Sarah Connor:
You know what I love about you guys? Even when you've evolved into the ultimate indestructible killing machine, you're not above self-examination and improvement.

Cameron Phillips:
Thank you.

Sarah Connor:
Please shut up.

Cameron Phillips:
It's too dangerous. We should go.

John Connor:
It's always too dangerous! It's war! War is dangerous!

Sarah Connor:

[to John] If you're gonna be a hero, you gotta learn how to drive a stick.

Sarah Connor:

John Connor:
I'm fine. [off Sarah's look] Really. How many times are we gonna have this talk?

Sarah Connor:
A lot, I think.

Sarah Connor:
[narrates] The pride of man, of parents as well, makes us believe that anything we create we can control. Whether from clay or from metal, it is in the nature of us to make our own monsters. [on the ground in front of school, holding Johns dead body]

[looks at Sarah with disbelief]

Terminator:

[school behind him explodes causing his flesh to vaporize, exposing his metal endoskeleton, he walks forward and begins to strangle Sarah with the familiar Terminator hand]

[to John] You're safe.

Sarah Connor, John Connor:
No one is ever safe.

Sarah Connor:
[first lines - narrating] There are those who believe that a child in the womb shares his mother's dreams; her love for him, her hopes for his future. I'm here because my boss, the United States of America, thinks Sarah Connor is a deluded, dangerous, grade-A whack-a-mole who killed a man because she believes that in the future he'll invent a computer system that declares war on the world.

John Connor:
My mom, she's kinda uptight. Actually, she's really uptight.

Cromartie:
[after shooting up a classroom while targeting John] Class dismissed.

Cameron Phillips:

Sarah Connor:

Sarah Connor:
How was school?

John Connor:
I didn't die, and Cameron didn't try to kill anyone. Probably the best first day ever.

Sarah Connor:
Now we are all sons of b*tches.

[John sees Cameron putting on some eyeliner]

John Connor:
You're getting pretty good at that.

Cameron Phillips:
Thank you.

John Connor:
Still, it's not exactly brain surgery or anything. It'd be pretty funny if you were some sort of advanced cybernetic intelligence, yet stumped by a stick of eyeliner.

Cameron Phillips:
No, not brain surgery. It would have to be a lot sharper for brain surgery.

Sarah Connor:
[referring to some building plans] Ok, six ways in, six ways out. The street opens to the front here. Security's minimal. Two armed guards in the morning, four in the afternoon. And if anything goes wrong, there's a parking lot here.

John Connor:
Mom, it's high school, okay? Not Supermax. We can handle it.

[John and Cameron are leaving for school. John kisses his mom]

Sarah Connor:
[to Cameron] Don't you kiss me. [pauses then calls after her] Or anyone else!

John Connor:
Don't seem like a freak. You know what I mean, right?

Cameron Phillips:
Freak. Weirdo. Kook. Oddball. Crackpot. Strange duck. Weird potato. Nut. I've been reading the dictionary. I don't sleep.

John Connor:
Yeah, see, that's what I'm talking about. You do that, you sound like a freak.

Terissa Dyson:
What do you want, Sarah? You never die, and you always want something.

Terissa Dyson:
[about Andy Goode] Is he going to die, too? Is that what happens now, he dies?

Sarah Connor:
I don't know. I hope not.

Terissa Dyson:

Sarah Connor:

Andy Goode:
That's the phone. Seriously, if I was going to be alone on a desert island with only a phone for a companion, that would absolutely be the phone.

Sarah Connor:

Sarah Connor:

Andy Goode:

Sarah Connor:
These numbers, one through nine. If I press seven of them will someone talk to me through the ear part up here?

Andy Goode:
Uh... yeah.

Sarah Connor:

Andy Goode:

Andy Goode:
Well, you answered too quickly. Hear me out, just give me one minute. Thirty seconds?

Sarah Connor:

Andy Goode:
Okay, well, first let me clear up the whole desert island and the cell phone thing. Seems kinda strange if you picture it.

Sarah Connor:
I wasn't.

Andy Goode:
Right, of course. Why would you? It's an asinine sales pitch, really. There's nowhere to plug in the phone, and it would be worth less then a rock when the battery died; couldn't even use it to open a coconut.

Sarah Connor:
This is you selling yourself?

Andy Goode:
Selling myself? Oh, I don't know, there's something immoral about the whole selling process.

Sarah Connor:
And yet, that's your job.

Andy Goode:
Part time. And I'm not very good at it. So I'm actually less immoral than the average... anyway, um... where was I?

Sarah Connor:
You're right.

Andy Goode:

Sarah Connor:
I answered too quick.

Carlos:

James Ellison:
No. And you're too smart to know nothing about who did.

Sarah Connor:

Cameron Phillips:

John Connor:

Oh well, we went, we learned. I didn't get killed and she didn't kill anybody. It's a pretty good first day, I think.

John Connor:
[about Tarissa Dyson] How was she, surprised to see you weren't dead?

Sarah Connor:
More like disappointed.

Sarah Connor:
She ID'd one of the safehouse photos; intern at Cyberdyne.

John Connor:
Really? What does he do now, work in a lab or build rocket guidance systems or something?

Sarah Connor:

John Connor:

Sarah Connor:

John Connor:

Sarah Connor:

John Connor:

No, no. More like Funyuns and twelve packs of Jolt from the vintage soda store while my roommates and I hacked Zelda 3 so the princess would say funny lines ripped from reruns.

Sarah Connor:
[with an amused smile] What's that language you speak, boy?

Andy Goode:
Computer science, CalTech; advanced dork.

Andy Goode:
Did you ever want to be anything other than a waitress?

Sarah Connor:
Yes.

Andy Goode:
What was it?

Sarah Connor:
I can't remember.

[John is grilling Sarah about Andy's chess playing computer, The Turk]

John Connor:
Again, what did it look like?

Sarah Connor:
What did it look like? Who cares what it looked like? It was just a rack of computer equipment.

John Connor:
Okay, but was there obvious network access? Do you know what kind of bandwidth?

Sarah Connor:
Okay, you're joking.

John Connor:
What about power supply? Was there a cooling element, like a fan or something?

Sarah Connor:

Mom, I'm just trying to get a sense of the horsepower. I wanna know if this thing was a dinky little homemade soapbox or if it was a full-fledged A.I. platform, capable of learning and growing and taking on other applications.

Sarah Connor:
It plays chess.

John Connor:

John Connor:
Have you ever heard of the Singularity? It's a point in time where machines become so smart that they're capable of making even smarter versions of themselves without our help. That's pretty much the time we can kiss our asses goodbye... unless we stop it.

Doctor:
[to Sarah] Don't drive yourself crazy chasing the future. We can't predict, you know. We can only try and prevent.

Zoey:

Cameron Phillips:
Yes.

Zoey:

Cameron Phillips:

Would you believe me if I told you Turk has moods? Obviously, not in the sense that you and I understand mood, but sometimes I'll feed it a particular chess problem and it'll solve it one way. The next day, I'll feed it the same problem and it solves it differently. Once in a while, it can't even solve it at all. You know why it does that?

Sarah Connor:
No.

Andy Goode:
Neither do I. Someday, I'm gonna figure it out. Someday, Turk'll tell me.

Sarah Connor:

Andy Goode:
Well, you never know.

John Connor:

Those circuits are so small a lot of the gear is actually pulled from gaming platforms. Did you know that the uh military uses them? Yeah, I've got the guts of three Xboxes and four PlayStations daisy-chained. Plus some seriously modded-out code that I *swear* came to me in a dream.

Sarah Connor:
And all this to beat another computer at chess?

Andy Goode:
None of this to beat another computer at chess.

Sarah Connor:
Then what? What are you doing?

Andy Goode:

Cameron Phillips:
33-42-31 North - the safe house coordinates. It's in the desert. You like the desert.

Sarah Connor:
Things happen out there.

Cameron Phillips:
Things happen here too.

Matt Murch:
So, I've got good news, I've got bad news, and I have... really bad news.

Matt Murch:
By bad news I mean on a scale of one to ten - one being a... hangnail, ten being Katrina - this is Katrina with a hangnail. Looks like someone managed to stuff malware down the throat of the most sophisticated A.I. in human history.

Catherine Weaver:
John Henry was infiltrated? Probed?

Matt Murch:
Well, looks worse than that to me; it looks like someone out there wants to kill him.

John Henry:
[on a computer screen] My God, why hast thou forsaken me?

John Henry:
I know what it feels like, Mr. Ellison.

James Ellison:
What?

John Henry:
To die - then come back. To be alone.

Cameron Phillips:
You can't kill me.

Derek Reese:
I can try.

[Cameron has told Derek about Jesse's miscarriage]

Derek Reese:
Why'd you tell me that now?

Cameron Phillips:
You put John in danger when you lied about Jesse. Sarah nearly lost her child. You've lost a child. You won't make that mistake again.

Derek Reese:
You knew her?

Cameron Phillips:
I met her once.

Derek Reese:
She never told me that.

Cameron Phillips:
It seems she never told you a lot of things.

Matt Murch:
You don't fool John Henry twice.

Sarah Connor:
I'm not here for Charley.

John Connor:
Okay, then why are we here?

Sarah Connor:
We're here for you. People matter, John, they're all that matters. Don't ever forget that.

Charley Dixon:
The first week... I kept seeing her. I go to the market, she'd be there. And for a second, my heart would stop. Then I'd realize, hey, that's... that's not my wife. That's just some random woman who wears her hair in a ponytail the way Michelle used to. For a while, I stopped shopping there. But a man can only live on convenience store burritos for so long. Charley Dixon:
When the perimeter's breached, a siren goes off. I figure I got about 60 seconds to escape by boat.

John Connor:
Boat can't stop bullets.

Charley Dixon:
Even if they sink it, I got a chance. Those bastards can't swim. I can.

John Henry:
Miles Dyson died in 1997 in an explosion at Cyberdyne Systems, the apparent victim of Sarah Conner, a known terrorist who had escaped from Pescadero State Mental Hospital days before the incident. That was your case, Mr. Ellison, when you were at the FBI.

James Ellison:
Yes... Yes, it was my case.

John Henry:
You never found Sarah Connor?

James Ellison:
No. I never did.

Derek Reese:
Why'd you come in after me?

Cameron Phillips:
You know the location of the safe house... John's location. If they tortured you...

Derek Reese:
That would never happen.

Cameron Phillips:
It has before.

Catherine Weaver:
John Henry, this intelligence - your brother - what does it want?

John Henry:
He wants what we all want, Ms. Weaver: to survive.

[Jesse is having a drink at a bar]

Rick:
What you drinkin'?

Jesse:
I don't know.

Rick:
[amused] You don't know what you're drinking?

Jesse:
There's booze in it... some sugary crap to cut the hell out of the burning taste, and some ice.

Rick:
What happened to your face?

Jesse:
You ask a lot of questions for a guy who wants to get in my pants.

Rick:
Do I?

Jesse:
Yeah, see, there's another one.

Kacy Corbin:
I'm thinking, if I can breastfeed him till he's five, maybe I can trick my body into letting me keep these b*obs.

[John finds Cameron in the garage sorting metal spare parts]

John Connor:
Great. It looks like a robot serial killer lives here. I guess one does.

[Cameron scares away a pigeon]

Cameron Phillips:
Goodbye, bird. There's a fifty-one percent chance I wouldn't have killed you.

Jesse:
Nice costume. You thinkin' about a career in the military?

Rick:
Actually, I fly P3s - for the navy.

Jesse:
Mmm - Brown Shoe.

Rick:
Guilty as charged. You?

Jesse:
Submarine. Bubblehead.

Rick:
Bubblehead? They let women on subs in Australia?

Jesse:
Mmm. We programmed killer robots too.

[Rick laughs]

Jesse:
Yeah, we don't discriminate.

Rick:
Well, there's a coincidence. I hunt subs, you drive subs - sorta like the wolf and the sheep dog. Not that I'm comparing you to a dog or anything.

Jesse:
It's a good point actually. In fact, I just remembered something.

Rick:
What's that?

Jesse:
Sheep dogs hate wolves! [punches him in the face]

Jesse:
And I hate Brown Shoes!

Derek Reese:
What happened?

Jesse:
I told you, I got in a fight.

Derek Reese:
With four naval aviators.

Jesse:
Really just three. One of them went down pretty quick.

John Connor:
Was it you? Did you kill her?

Cameron Phillips:
What if I did?

John Connor:
Don't play games with me. I need the truth.

Cameron Phillips:
I didn't kill her.

John Connor:
I want to believe you.

Cameron Phillips:
Believe me.

I think about Riley. What the cyborg did to her.

Jesse:
It's a terrible thing. But, um... if John realizes what the metal is, what it really does... maybe some good can come of it. Maybe you can help him see that.

Derek Reese:
Good? An innocent kid is dead - because that metal b*tch murdered her in cold blood; no good... comes out of that - none, not ever.

John Connor:

Jesse:

One nice thing about metal driving a boat - a schedule's a schedule.

[Queeg has dived their submarine to a depth of 729.80 meters]

[some crew members are looking at each other blankly]

Jesse:
You heard the captain, people.

[nobody reacts]

Jesse:
What, you've never been twenty centimeters from your Maker before? Move!

Savannah:
Come and play hide and seek, mommy?

Catherine Weaver:
I'm working.

Savannah:
But you promised.

Catherine Weaver:
Patience is a virtue, Savannah. To tolerate delay. It implies self-control and forbearance, as opposed to wanting what we want when we want it. Something to think about.

Catherine Weaver:
John Henry, we're looking for my daughter Savannah. Have you seen her today?

John Henry:
Yes I have. She wanted to play a game.

James Ellison:
Where is she now?

John Henry:
She's hiding.

James Ellison:
Tell us where she's hiding.

John Henry:
That's not how the game works.

James Ellison:

John Henry:

I have planned on waiting for you with Derek's sniper rifle, pulled the trigger, solved about fifty percent of my problems. One shot. Do you know how bad I'd have felt?

Cameron Phillips:
Very bad?

Sarah Connor:
Not bad at all. But I know someone who'd have felt bad, someone who would never forgive me if I had done that.

Cameron Phillips:
It's not about me. It's about John. You're concerned for his safety.

Sarah Connor:
You bet I am.

Cameron Phillips:
From Skynet? From me?

Sarah Connor:
Maybe. Maybe especially you.

Cameron Phillips:
We're all a threat. We're all a threat to John. He worries about us. That makes him vulnerable. He cares.

You know, I've been running from the machines my whole life. They tried to kill my mom before I was even born. When I was twelve, they sent one after me. I was a kid. I was stupid. I didn't know what it was all about. Both times, future me sent someone back, to stop them. The first time it was a soldier. His name was Kyle Reese, and he died saving my mother's life. Second time it was a machine. I used to wonder why I did that - why I took that chance. I don't wonder anymore. Human beings can't be replaced. They can't be rebuilt. They die and they never come back.

John Connor:
[to Jesse] He loves you, you know, Derek. You and me, we're the only things he has in this world - the only things. He's like Riley in that way. See, she made mistakes. But a man took my picture and she destroyed his camera. She put herself between me and a machine that was hunting me. So one day I realized, she wasn't treating me like John Baum. The thing is... this is all my fault. I knew Riley was in trouble. I didn't help her. I should've, but I didn't. I knew what she was. I didn't try to stop her.

Jesse:

John Connor:

Sarah Connor:

[John is talking to Sarah about his visit in the morgue]

John Connor:

Sarah Connor:

[behind Sarah, Cameron has appeared in the door]

Jesse:

Jesse:
The cyborg had murdered the girl, or if I could've made you believe that she had?

Jesse:

[John Henry is painting figurines]... The eyes for example: the "window to the soul." They're the window to the soul, I read that.

James Ellison:

John Henry:

James Ellison:
It doesn't matter John Henry. It's a statue, it's an object, it doesn't have a soul!

John Henry:
It has Eyes. [John Henry observes Ellison as tired] Your eyes look tired. Is your soul tired?

Cameron Phillips:

John Connor:

[Cromartie is scanning a snow globe in terminator perspective, when the school administrator walks in]

Cromartie:
[holds up forged FBI ID] I need a list of new students who've enrolled in this school district since the fall of 2007. Male, Caucasian, ages 15 to 18.

Sumner:
You boys are in here at least twice a month waving your Patriot Act around. Let me guess - drugs? Look me in the eye and tell me you've never smoked a little marijuana.

Cromartie:
[leans down and looks him in the eye] I've never smoked a little marijuana.

Sumner:
[laughs sarcastically and gets to work on his computer] Okay, let's see your paperwork. Court order or a signed national security letter.

Cromartie:
I don't have my paperwork.

Sumner:
Sorry. The district will not release personal information on students without written authorization from the...

[Cromartie lifts him up on the wall by his neck, then snaps his neck and lets him fall to the floor]

Cromartie:
Thank you for your cooperation.

[walks over to the computer]

Derek Reese:
[talking to Sarah about Cameron] Who showed you my safehouse? She did. Who else knew about it? Nobody. Where are my men? In the morgue.

Cameron Phillips:
I didn't give the Triple-Eight the safehouse's location.

Derek Reese:
Prove it.

Cameron Phillips:
[about Vick the Terminator] He's protecting her.

Sarah Connor:
Why? And why like *that*?

Derek Reese:
Because they're twisted. That's why. [gives Cameron a pointed look of disgust and starts to leave] I'll be in the Jeep.

Sarah Connor:
[at Barbara Chamberlain's house] She hasn't been here for a while. I wonder what she thinks happened to her husband.

Derek Reese:
You kidding? She's dead.

Sarah Connor:
You don't know that.

[they enter the house]

Sarah Connor:
He wasn't holding her captive. Wasn't intimidating her. They lived here together.

Derek Reese:
Think you'd know?

Sarah Connor:
I know I'd know.

John Connor:
Well, I guess when they say you can't fight City Hall, they really mean it.

Derek Reese:
Whoever said that didn't have as much plastic as we do.

Sarah Connor:
We can't blow up City Hall.

Derek Reese:
Oh, it's really not that hard.

Sarah Connor:
[narrating] All of us wear masks. They can be worn out of love, and the desire to remain close to those around us. To spare them from the complicated reality of our afraid psyches. We trade honesty for companionship. And in the process, never truly know the hearts closest to us.

John Connor:

Cameron Phillips:

John Connor:

Cameron Phillips:
Decision-making, strategic mission analysis, we don't wanna activate those functions.

John Connor:
So, crank the juice, but not too much.

Cameron Phillips:

[Cromartie enters the boys locker room/shower at John's high school]

Cromartie:
[shows the coach his fake FBI ID] I need to speak to Eric Carlson.

Gym Coach:
He in some sort of trouble?

Cromartie:
No, no trouble. Where is he?

Gym Coach:
He just got out of gym class, give him five to finish showering.

Cromartie:
[ignores the coach and walks toward the students] Eric Carlson?

Gym Coach:
Hey!

Cromartie:
[scanning students] Eric Carlson! Eric Carlson?

Eric Carlson:
[looks at Cromartie stunned] What seems to be the problem, sir?

[compares his face with John's; it doesn't match]

Gym Coach:
Hey! Are you for real, buddy? You think I can't get you fired for a little peep show?

[Cromartie shoves the coach into a locker and walks out]

[trying to find the women that Vick murdered]

Cameron Phillips:
I don't understand your need to find her. She's dead.

Sarah Connor:
That's because you don't value human life.

Cameron Phillips:
But she's not life, she's just a body - bones and meat... Was that bad to say?

[Derek Reese in the shower, Sarah pulls back the curtain]

Sarah Connor:
Sarkissian returned my call, he'll meet about selling the Turk.

Derek Reese:
He's still got it? When's the meeting?

Sarah Connor:
Tomorrow morning.

Derek Reese:
[standing in shower] Meaning this news could've waited?

Sarah Connor:
You killed Andy Goode. There was no one there to protect him and you killed him. You lie to me again, I'll kill you.

Cameron Phillips:
[about Cromartie] He's going school to school looking for you. Trying to match your face. He's moved on now. He won't go back there. I wouldn't.

John Connor:
The only way that I am reassured by that is if I remember... that in the core of your chip... you're just like him.

John Connor:
So do we do this a lot in the future? Sneak around in the dark?

Derek Reese:
We do this a lot.

[John and Derek find the body of a dead woman]

John Connor:
I was kinda hoping we wouldn't find her.

[Derek whistles for Cameron and Sarah, then kneels and pulls the woman around]

John Connor:
That's not Barbara.

Derek Reese:
[checks her ID] Who the hell's Jessica Peck?

Cameron Phillips:
A threat to Skynet.

Derek Reese:
[searching in the tunnel system of City Hall] There shouldn't be a wall here. In the future, there's no wall here.

Sarah Connor:
Meaning?

Derek Reese:
Meaning we need to blow it up.

[Sarah observes Derek brushing his teeth]

Sarah Connor:
You've been doing that for twenty minutes now - with *my* toothbrush!

Sarah Connor:
Why do we always find out about these people when it's too late, when they're dead? Do all these people have to die so that we can win? Is that it?

John Connor:
How the hell do you keep your brain organized?

Cameron Phillips:
Not like yours.

[John and Cameron are looking at footage of Vick's "family life"]

John Connor:
Was that thing... married?

Cameron Phillips:
The T-888 is an advanced model infiltrator.

John Connor:
I-I don't think she... knows. I mean, is that possible?

Cameron Phillips:
She would not be the first human fooled by a machine.

Sarah Connor:
He gained her trust. Made her think he was human. Then killed her.

Derek Reese:
It's what they do.

[throws a side glance to Cameron]

Derek Reese:
[referring to Cameron] You know, maybe, maybe it's not the Turk that created Skynet. Maybe it's her. Maybe this was her plan all along.

John Connor:
She's a machine. She doesn't have a soul and she never will. You don't have to trust her; you can trust me.

Sarah Connor:
[about her life as a waitress] I had this regular, Tracy. She had two beautiful kids... She left her husband, moved her kids to L.A. to get 'em into show business. I'd bring her eggs every day. And I'd hear what she said to them. That they had bad skin or crooked teeth. One lie after another. I swear, sometimes I understand why they drop bombs on us.

Derek Reese:
These buildings are all connected by a series of underground tunnels that were built during the cold war. I did a project on it in the ninth grade - my last year of school.

Sarah Connor:
And how do you know they're still functional?

Derek Reese:
I lived there - Kyle and I. *After* they dropped the bombs on us.

[John intends to plant a virus into ARTIE with Cameron's chip]

Sarah Connor:
You can get in through a traffic light?

John Connor:
Yes.

Sarah Connor:
Are you sure?

John Connor:
Nope.

Sarah Connor:
Are *you* sure?

Cameron Phillips:
No.

[after they've used Cameron's chip to take down ARTIE, Derek unexpectedly picks up the chip]

John Connor:
Hey, hey, hey, what're you doin'?...

[Derek gives John a look]

John Connor:
Derek, don't.

Derek Reese:
I want you to hear this in no uncertain terms. Someday, one of these things is gonna kill you.

[John takes the chip back]

John Connor:
It's not gonna be this one.

[last lines]

[Vick's view of Barbara in her shower]

Sarah Connor:
[narrating] So much danger in this world is hidden behind masks. We tell our children stories of good and evil, well knowing it's not that simple.

[Vick enters the shower]

Barbara Chamberlain:
Do you realize that in 36 hours, we'll be waking up in Tahiti? I can't believe you bought us tickets.

Sarah Connor:
[narrating] True evil doesn't give us time to fight, or to be afraid.

[Vick puts his hand around Barbara's throat and snaps her neck]

Sarah Connor:
[narrating] We keep our heads down, never bothering to look behind the masks. And in doing so, we resign ourselves to terrible fates we can never see coming.

James Ellison:

[younger boy misses the ball with his bat]

Sarah Connor:
[narrating] But you can't freeze time. You can't protect your children from the future that awaits them.

Kyle at 8:
Batting's hard, Derek!

Derek at 15:
You're doing great, Kyle, just remember how I showed you: stay on top of the ball.

Sarah Connor:
[narrating] The moment's there. And then...

Derek at 15:
[Kyle hits the ball] Yes!

Kyle at 8:
Yes, finally!

Sarah Connor:
[narrating]... it's gone.

[distant explosions]

Kyle at 8:
Fireworks! Cool!

[looking up they see the nuclear bombs streaking across the sky]

John Connor:
[referring to Kyle] What was he like?

Derek Reese:
He was just a kid when it happened. Eight years old, I was fifteen. How do you tell an eight-year-old machines have taken over the world?

John Connor:
How do you?

Derek Reese:
You don't.

Derek Reese:
[grabs Sarkissian, pushes him against the wall and levels a gun to his head] Here's my counter-offer: You tell us where the Turk is, we keep our money, and I bury you in the backyard.

Fake Sarkissian:
[chuckles] Well, you listen to me. If I don't walk out of here in ten minutes, my people are instructed to call the FBI, and tell 'em everything I know.

Sarah Connor:
Your people?

Fake Sarkissian:
Yeah. My people. Same people who are watching your son. He's on a field trip, isn't he? With his class? Science Museum, I believe.

Derek Reese:
[smiles] Your people have no idea what they're walking into.

[the Connor group walks up to the cafe manager nonchalantly]

Derek Reese:
Where is he?

Cafe Manager:
Who?

[Sarah reaches over the counter and slams the manager's head down on the desk]

Sarah Connor:
He. Need I repeat?

[the manager meekly points to the back room]

[Sarkissian is holding a gun to John's throat and Derek walks onto the scene with his gun on a little girl]

Derek Reese:
Let him go.

Fake Sarkissian:
Not my kid.

Derek Reese:
Not mine either.

Derek Reese:
So, it's your birthday.

John Connor:
How... how d'you know?

Derek Reese:
Are you kidding? I celebrated your 30th with you.

John Connor:
[smiles] How was that?

Derek Reese:
[chuckles] You got drunk as a skunk.

[John laughs]

Derek Reese:
Come on. I'll buy you a beer.

John Connor:
I'm sixteen.

Derek Reese:
All right, I'll buy you an ice cream cone. Come on, it's your birthday. When there are things to celebrate, they should be celebrated.

[Derek and John are sitting in the park, eating ice cream and watching two kids playing baseball]

Derek Reese:
It's beautiful here, isn't it?

[John nods]

Derek Reese:
When you stay long enough, you start fooling yourself into thinking that this is... how it's always gonna be. Then you remember what this place'll look like when it's on fire and... you realize you'll do whatever it takes to keep from watching it burn again.

[the baseball lands near John. John picks it up and gives it back to the younger kid, then spots the older boy wearing a shirt with the name "Reese" on the back. John turns back to Derek stunned]

John Connor:
Is that... you?

[realizes the implications]

John Connor:
And the younger one? Is that...?

Derek Reese:
Kyle. Throws pretty good for a five-year-old, huh? Your father always had a nice arm.

John Connor:
[shocked] How'd you know?

Derek Reese:
Every time I look at you I see him.

[smirks]

Derek Reese:
Besides, your mom's his type.

[with watery eyes, John watches the two young Reeses play again]

Derek Reese:
Happy birthday.

John Connor:

Cameron Phillips:

John Connor:
Well, then, maybe you have, like, a 'built-day'.

Morris:
Wait, Cameron! Hey, um... There's something I... kinda need to ask you. Um... you think maybe you might wanna go to the prom with me?

John Connor:
Just say 'yes'!

Cameron Phillips:
Yes!

Agent Greta Simpson:
Kester?

James Ellison:
Yeah, that's what he likes to call himself when he's out trick-or-treating in his FBI costume.

Agent Greta Simpson:
George Lazlo's a better actor than we thought.

James Ellison:
That's not Lazlo.

Agent Greta Simpson:
James, are we looking at the same picture here? This is your guy. It's Lazlo.

James Ellison:
The blood doesn't match.

Agent Greta Simpson:
Come on, what're you sayin', that this guy somehow killed six people and then found a plastic surgeon who made him look identical to George Lazlo? And then what? Killed Lazlo, stole his identity and then... put himself in the FBI database as this guy Kester? To what end? What's the goal here? Who is he?

James Ellison:
*What* is he?

Agent Greta Simpson:
"What is he"?

James Ellison:
Yeah - what is he? What is he that stands across from a man after killing two other men within 36 hours? And when asked of his involvement, cannot only lie, but lie well? And not only lie well, but not blink, or twitch, or perform one simple human reaction to the situation? So yes, I think it's fair to ask, what is he?

Agent Greta Simpson:
You know as well as I - some men are monsters.

James Ellison:
Yeah. Monsters.

Agent Greta Simpson:
Let's go get him.

[after Cromartie has massacred the FBI SWAT team]

Sarah Connor:
[narrating] In 'Lord of the Flies', a group of boys slaughter a pig in the jungle. They torture it and place its head on a sharpened stake as an offering to the beast that hovers god-like over the island. - The black blood drips down the pig's teeth, and the boys run away. - Later, when one of the boys is alone, he weeps, but not for the pig. The boy weeps for the end of innocence, and the darkness of men's hearts.

[Sarah and Derek are looking out for Sarkissian when two policemen appear]

Sarah Connor:
We have to go.

Derek Reese:
We came here for the Turk.

Sarah Connor:
We can't get it if we're in prison.

[Cameron reveals Sarkissian's dead handyman in the trunk]

Cameron Phillips:
He was a threat to us.

John Connor:
Did he say anything, a name, a location?

Cameron Phillips:
He said very little. And then he was quiet.
