John was a very low maintenance man. I can't remember a time he asked me for anything.

I think the best way to pay a tribute to John and for the people who care about John, should do 2 things: Do something really nice for somebody, and do something really goofy. You know, just stick your tounge out at the kid in the car next to you and I think that would make John happy.

John was the kind of person, that if you spent 2 minutes with him, you felt as if you'd known him for about 20 years.

It wasn't the most classy or sophisticated material in the world. But that just goes to show you how good he was.

I remember before he got sent home, he said he thought he had food poisoning. Then at about 11:45pm I got a phone call saying that John passed away.

William H. Macy:
I was driving in my car and I heard someone yell "I loved you in 'Fargo'" I look over across and it's John Ritter. I said, "I loved you in 'Sling Blade.'" He said, "It's a driveby compliment," and he drove away. I remember thinking to myself, "I wish I could come up with funny things like that."
