Famous Ella Wheeler Wilcox Quotations

Ella Wheeler Wilcox (November 5, 1850-October 30, 1919) was an American author and poet. Her best-known work was Poems of Passion. Her most enduring work was "Solitude", which contains the lines: "Laugh, and the world laughs with you; Weep, and you weep alone." Her autobiography, The Worlds and I was published in 1918 shortly before her death

"It is easy enough to be pleasant, When life flows by like a song, But the man worth while is the one who can smile, When everything goes dead wrong. For the test of the heart is troubled, And it always comes with the years. And the smiles that is worth the praises of earth Is the smile that shines through tears."
