I remember the first day I came in for fittings and stuff and I saw pictures of Johnny with all his bandana and his dreadlocks and I thought "Christ. I look like an ice cream and these guys look so cool".

Keira Knightley:
When I first read the script I thought this'll be easy, I'll wear pretty dresses, I'll sit in the back of carriages, I'll pout a bit, it'll be fine. But actually, I've had a lot of stunt work to do which, for someone as lazy as me, has been rather challenging.

Johnny Depp:
It's a childhood dream, isn't it? To be a pirate.

Johnny Depp:
The stunt work on this has been way, way more intense than anything I've done before.

Jack Davenport:
Every day you come into work, you think it can't get any bigger. It is.

Ve Neill:
You always smell burning hair around this guy!

Geoffrey Rush:
I thought he's just got to be a dirty fighter, he's had a sword on his belt from the time he was about thirteen and just knew how to hack off heads and skewer people.

Orlando Bloom:
I remember looking over my shoulder and there's Johnny at the wheel with the gold teeth and I'm yanking on a rope thinking I can't believe I'm doing this.

Gore Verbinski:
Several times on the set, we'd just start giggling.

Jack Davenport:
Norrington is basically the scourge of piracy in the eastern Caribbean. I suppose I bring light where there is dark and air freshener to where pirates have recently vacated.

Gore Verbinski:
Everything they say about water movies is true. Anything that *can* go wrong *will* go wrong.

Jack Davenport:
It's like you've been learning a tango for a month and then they say, "OK, now do it without your partner". You just feel like an idiot lunging at mid-air.

Penny Rose:
Check the gate.

Treva Etienne:
It's like a choreographed dance with all these stunt guys just beating themselves up.

Geoffrey Rush:
Bob Anderson understood acting with a sword. He said just because it gets faster doesn't mean to say it's better.

Gore Verbinski:
It's amazing, when you scout a film like this, how quickly you realize that the world is, you know, insanely overpopulated. You just go out looking for a cul-de-sac shaped bay and to find one that doesn't have a hotel. They just don't exist.
