If there weren't artists or people going outside the box then the basic American drone would loose the current illusion that gives them the sense that their life has meaning.

They are offering you a piece of themselves and it's a gift. Whether you agree with it or like it or not, that's still what they're offering... the least you can do is show respect and honor that they've done it.

That's what great artists do... they make us feel less alone.

I don't even think we have philosophers today. I think they come in the form of musicians and comedians.

Its the artist who is really a visionary - someone who's not thinking about box office records, ratings, or other clich? kind of stuff... they are just doing their art.

Great things are made from not asking what the people want because the people don't know what they want... Henry Ford once said if I would of asked the people what they wanted, they would of said faster horses.

Obviously for the most part, people are sheep. You have to have some shepherds and sometimes shepherds are wearing strange clothing.

Art and artists have the responsibility to keep this world going.

The people that constantly reach inside of themselves and really go to that vulnerable place where they're sharing something that means so much to them or makes them so happy or so sad... is magnificent.
