Listen, kid, it isn't fair to you to be engaged.

Ruth 'Ruthie' Holman:
Why not?

Thomas 'Tom':
Well, that night we were all swanked up and I talked you into it. Who am I to be engaged to any woman?

Ruth 'Ruthie' Holman:
You know something, you were just fooling, but, its true, if you hadn't been swank that night, we wouldn't be engaged.

Thomas 'Tom':
I knew you had brains. I knew you'd see it that way.

Ruth 'Ruthie' Holman:
