There is a place at the edge of New England. An everyday sort of town. But if you look beneath the humdrum surface, what you'll find here is something quite surprising. Because once upon a time, the women who lived in our town were said to have certain special gifts. That is, before they were burned alive by those nice pilgrims. Of course nowadays we know better than to believe in witchcraft. We call it silly superstition and lies. But just for a moment, let's wonder what if. What if the legends are actually true? What if the gifted ones are still here among us, only they don't even know what they are? They might spend their whole lives sensing they are somehow different, but they have no idea just how different they are.
