But defeated in 2020. He is the current Minister of "Digital Infrastructure and Information Technology". Earlier he was appointed the deputy minister of Foreign affairs in January 2015. He is a lawyer by profession and alumnus of University of Sri Jayawardenapura, Sri Lanka, Law College and Ananda College, Colombo. He was born on December 2, 1967 in Bandaragama, a suburban town in Kalutara district.He is also a father to 3 children: Senura Perera, Senali Perera and Menura Perera.
