Quotes from the news wire:
Reports of DHS’s involvement inefforts to be the arbiter of truth onwide-rangingtopics are extremely concerning, this is not DHS’s role,as evidenced by thefierce backlash against and ultimatedisbanding of the Disinformation Governance Board earlier this year. Simply put:The American people do not approve of the department engaging in unclear, unaccountable and opaque efforts led by the Biden administration’s ever-changing definition of ‘truth.’.
This administration has even gone on to brazenly claim that the border is ‘ secure ’ and the border is ‘ closed, ’ despite astounding evidence to prove otherwise, it should come as no surprise that this administration has not prioritized providing the right resources and policies for CBP to effectively do their jobs.
Homeland Security Republicans have sounded the alarm on the humanitarian crisis directlyresulting from President Biden’s reckless policies, which have incentivized families and young children to make the dangerous journey to the U.S.-Mexico border, the continued silence from Democrats on this humanitarian crisis is deafening. Democrats should be acting to address the devastation at the border. Republicans are ready with a plan to secure the border, address the pull factors created by the Biden administration, and end this humanitarian crisis on day one of a Republican majority. The American people have had enough and Homeland Republicans are prepared to address the raging fire at our Southwest border.
The Committee will also consider legislation today aimed at redirecting taxpayer dollars allocated for homeland security research and development towards the Biden administration’s climate goals, unfortunately, with the litany of security crises facing the homeland from relentless cyber threats, a wide open southwest border, and resurgent terrorist groups, I do not believe that critical DHS research and development efforts should be redirected for this purpose.
I ’d advise President Biden to highlight how Mexico’s involvement would be mutually beneficial to both countries, the volatility caused by the cartels on the Mexico side of the border will have long-term, detrimental impacts on the stability of Mexico as a country. Additionally, Mexico must do more to seal its southern border and stop making it so easy for migrants to travel through their country and to the U.S. southern border.
The Canadian government just voted unanimously [Monday] to try and get the Olympics moved to another venue for next year. And that's all I'm asking. I'm not saying we prevent the athletes from competing, i want them to compete, but I don't want them to compete in a country that's engaged in genocide. It's absolutely the wrong signal to send to people around the world. And I think it's high time we stand up to China and its tactics and say enough is enough. And I'm asking the president to lead.
An independent, bipartisan commission will remove politicization of the conversation and focus solely on the facts and circumstances surrounding the security breach at the Capitol as well as other instances of violence relevant to such a review.

China and Russia love nothing more than to see mayhem created in the United States, but they're not stupid enough to create it themselves, if they cozy up to the Taliban government, like it sounds like they're going to, that is the perfect proxy to help fund and foment mayhem in the U.S. without having to have their fingers on it.
And that's before Afghanistan fell, this is a very dangerous situation, and what is most disturbing is that the president was just defiant as hell about his decision – it is clear he didn't listen to his key military advisers – and he did not talk about the biggest implication of his decision, which is an increased threat to the homeland.
