Anyone who cares an iota about religious liberty should denounce this reckless, demagogic rhetoric, the government should close the borders to anyone suspected of even a passing involvement with any radical cell or terrorist network. But the government should not penalize law-abiding people, especially those who are American citizens, for holding their religious convictions.
They're looking for someone who will lead with justice for the common good ... which is one of the reasons why I'm not spending a lot of time asking politicians to outline for me their personal testimonies, which I think in the past has often led to politicians learning what evangelical testimonies sound like in order to win evangelical voters, that in and of itself is not an issue for me.
I don't think a candidate is going to be able to get very far simply by using evangelical lingo or by pointing to his or her personal faith, i think a candidate is going to have to explain how he or she would protect religious liberty and would appoint justices and judges who will maintain the common good.
