And my personality isn’t ever one to insult anybody. I have plenty of my own flaws. I’m not here to point out anyone else’s flaws. There are things that I agree with. There are things that I don’t. There are things I agree with my wife about. There are things that I don’t. I love her to death, but we don’t always see eye to eye, i don’t see eye to eye with anyone. And I’m not responsible for what other people say. I’m really responsible for what I say. So, if people want to say things that I said or that I’m about, that’s up to them, and I’m not going to respond to all those things all the time either.
It's very easy when you're 25 to know what you want to do the next year, it's very challenging when you're 43 or 44 because there is a lot of other things that are pressing and a lot of other things that are really important in your life, like your kids and your wife and different relationships. I’m just really excited that we’re just now at the launch. It’s really come to life – there’s a real business and there are incredible products, great fabrics and just incredible garments that fit well. We really wanted to think about functional performance for people. And how our work transitions to our personal life and our personal life transitions on the weekend is you know – just waking up and you want something comfortable for the whole day, but at the same time, something that is designed and built really well. It’s just the highest quality. I think we really accomplished it and I know that we’re going to continue to do great things over a long period of time. So much of it was building out a great team and nothing happens overnight. The fact that it’s here now and we’ve had a really great response with our signups and our IG – just the interest has been really fun for me to see. So I hope people love it as much as I do.
I'm just going to take things as they come. I think that's the best way to put it. You never say never, at the same time, I feel very good about my decision. I don't know how I'll feel six months from now. It may change, it most likely won't, but I try to make the best possible decision I can in the moment, which I did this last week.
That’s not what that was about, i think that was taken out of context, just like you’re taking it out of context and trying to make it a story for yourself, which has a negative connotation to it, which I don’t appreciate. It was meant to be something different than that. The fact it’s a distraction or you’re bringing it up is not something I want to be talking about.
I know when I give it my all, that’s something to be proud of, and I’ve literally given everything I had this year, last year, the year before that, the year before that. Like, I don’t leave anything half-a--, you know? I think I leave it with everything that I have. My physical being, I work really hard on that. I feel like I give everything I can to my teammates.
I’m really an ultimate — my enjoyment comes from not a recognition of kind of what I’ve accomplished as a player in the league, my enjoyment comes from the competition more so than anything. Even yesterday, I was thinking about competing. I was thinking about, this whole year, about competing. I wasn’t thinking about anything other than that. So when the time comes to think about post-career and second career, I’ll think about those things. It’s just when you’re 44, I guess you get asked about that a lot. And a lot of people thought I was done playing football in 2015. A lot of people in 2016 said, ‘You’re done.’ A lot of people in 2018, and when I left the Patriots, they said, ‘You’re done.’.
It pains her to see me get hit out there. And she deserves what she needs from me as a husband, and my kids deserve what they need from me as a dad, and I’m gonna spend some time with them and give them what they need because they’ve really been giving me what I need the last six months to do what I love to do. I said this a few years ago, it’s what relationships are all about. It’s not always what I want. It’s what we want as a family. And I’m gonna spend a lot of time with them and figure out in the future what’s next.
I think all of these games are little bit independent from one another. Yeah, we played them earlier in the year, but it's a very different team we had, and I think a little bit of a different team they had too, so they are each their own individual type of game. They're going to require their own individual performance and stuff. I think the point is it doesn't really matter what happened in October when we played them last.
I think for all of us it's repeating good processes is the important part. Getting to this time of year, you don't do much different. You just do more of what got you here. The things that work, we do more of. You try to eliminate all of the other distractions. I even told (Vice President of Communications) Nelson [Luis], 'I don't want to do anything extra this week. I just want to do football.
I feel like it's, for me, always about the team's success, so it's hard to compare one year to another. I feel like I want to play as a championship-level player. That's what I've said for a long time. When I'm not able to do that – I said a long time ago,' When I suck I'll retire,' but what I really meant was when I'm not capable of leading the team to victory then someone else has to do the job, i feel like I can do that. Obviously, we've put ourselves in a decent position – now we're in the postseason, and we've got to take care of a very tough opponent. I just love being out there with the guys. Let's see if we can beat a really tough Eagles team. This team is going to challenge us, and I'm going to have to play good football.
I know Tampa Bay Buccaneers gear’s been Tampa Bay Buccaneers gear. I hope you’ve been enjoying the season so far. We’re grinding, getting ready to start the playoffs, but earlier you held up that sign that I helped you beat brain cancer. Well, listen, your fight, you’ve inspired so many people, including Tom Brady, but millions of others also. The The NFL and the Bucs look forward to sending deserving fans to the Super Bowl each year and fans that have incredible stories like the one you’ve had.
That’s obviously a difficult situation. I think we all want him to … I think everybody should find, hopefully, do what they can to help him in ways he really needs it. We all love him, we all care about him deeply. We want to see him be at his best and unfortunately it won’t be with our team, we have a lot of friendships that will last. Again, I think that the most important thing about football are the relationships with your friends and your teammates, and they go beyond the field. I think everyone should be very compassionate and empathetic toward some very difficult things.
That game would have defined what that team in NFL history meant to the league, meant to what greatness was, i still think that was the best team I've ever played on, even though we didn't win the Super Bowl. Wasn't the most accomplished team, but it was probably the best team … it was the best team. It was probably the best team in NFL history.
People kind of tell me they happen, that's pretty cool, i keep some jerseys and stuff like that, but yeah, it's pretty neat. It's just amazing to have so many people share in all those great accomplishments that, obviously to me, I feel like they're all team awards anyway, so anyone who ever caught a touchdown pass, they're part of something pretty cool in NFL history, anyone that had a completion for that matter.

It probably won't sink in for a very, very long time, i'm just so blessed to play with the best teammates through the years from our'01 team and all the way through now. I love all those guys. That's what makes this special, man. It's a brotherhood. All these relationship are so important in my life, and I can't cherish it enough. It's going to be a celebration tonight.
For me, its about preparing mentally, physically to be the best I can be, i already watched a lot of film today and I got a lot more this afternoon. Im going to get Alex (Guerrero) and I are going to get all our treatments in see if I can be really fresh and ready to go tomorrow and have a great week of practice.
I just love the competition and I love trying to improve and I think thats what it comes down to, every year has its challenges. Its very different from my first year to now, things change obviously with yourself, team, personal situations, professional situations. I love competing, I love playing football. I think loving the game and trying to improve and be the best I can be for the team is great motivation for me and Ive just always spoke about winning and thats what I love to do.
Everyone at this point is tired and worn down but at the same time, you have one of the great opportunities in your life. This is a memory you'll have forever and I really hope we can go out and take advantage of it, the Rams have worked equally as hard. They've got a great team. They do well in all phases just like all the teams we've played in this game.
I love competing, I love playing football. I think loving the game and trying to improve and be the best I can be for the team is great motivation for me and I've just always spoken about winning and that's what I love to do, that's why I'm here, that's why this team has done such a great job. I think everyone here is just committed to winning and really doing whatever it takes to win.
I think there were a lot of healthy conversations coming out of it in our locker room. Like I said, the great part about sports are the relationships, i’ve been in it for a long time. I’ve been with guys from all different parts of the country, every color, race, belief. And, you know what, you respect why people are doing what they’re doing. And they’re doing it for different reasons. And that’s OK. You can do things for your reasons. They can do things for their reasons and you have respect for that.
We support what people are going through, you play in sports long enough, everyone comes from something different. I think showing respect for everybody … in a locker room, a team full of guys trying to go in the same direction, you better have that empathy for everybody. That’s what sports are about.
Because Tom put the kid’s behavior out there. It’s really Tom’s fault. And I don’t know Tom — I’m a great admirer of his physical prowess and his football ability — but don’t put your kid up on an Internet show and then get pissed when people comment on her behavior. You’re putting it out there for people to comment on. That’s what a TV show is.
Thank you to the president for hosting this honorary celebration and for supporting our team for as long as I can remember, in light of some recent development, I am unable to attend today’s ceremony, as I am attending to some personal family matters.

I didn't alter the ball in any way, i have a process that I go through before every game where I go in and pick the balls that I want... Our equipment guys do a great job of breaking the balls in ... When I pick those footballs out at that point, you know to me they're perfect. I don't want anyone touching the balls after that.
You have to put the time in to be a true professional. Study, prepare the way you need to, it’s easy to do in September, easy to do in October. It starts getting hard in November and December. Some days you don’t feel like going out there. But you’ve got to be able to grind, you've got to be able to put it in the bank.
