While we share our members' eagerness to get back to in-person work, American Foreign Service Association believes that the criteria set out by State Department — data, conditions on the ground in specific locations, and employee safety — have not been met, the criterion of a 14-day negative trend in new COVID-19 infections still does not exist in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and, in fact, five of the seven indicators on the Diplomacy Strong dashboard show clearly that the Washington metro area should not be moving to this next stage.
