What? what's that supposed to mean?

Silent Rob:
I used to have a chicken and everyday i would go outside and chase it. Then one day i forgot to tie it up and i went out the next day and it was gone.

Ray:
Why not just get another chicken?

Silent Rob:
It wasn't just a chicken, we had a connection, but now i know when you really cherish something you have to hold on to it. So you my friend, you're chasing you chicken
