Juliet Burke:
[Alpert places a drink, into which he's mixed a powder, next to her] What is that?

Richard Alpert:
[nonchalantly] That, is orange juice with a considerable amount of tranquilizer mixed in.

Juliet Burke:
[incredulous] You want me to drink it?

Richard Alpert:
Oh yes. You'll want to be asleep for the trip Dr Burke.

Ethan Rom:
[chuckling] It can be... kind of intense.

Juliet Burke:
O-kay. I was fine with signing all of your paperwork! Fine with not being able to talk with anyone in my life for six months! Fine with the fact that no on in the medical community has heard of Mittelos Bioscience...

Richard Alpert:
Why were you fine?

Juliet Burke:
What?

Richard Alpert:
Why were you fine with those thing? It seems like quite a leap for a job opportunity. I mean we're not paying you that much. I think you're fine because... deep down inside a part of you knows that the place we're taking you to is special.

Juliet Burke:
[hesitant] Special?

Juliet Burke:
Let me ask you something Juliet. You took a woman, your own sister, who's reproductive system was ravaged by chemotherapy. Who was sterile. And you made her pregnant. You created life where life was not supposed to be. That's a gift. You have a gift Juliet. Now don't you feel you're meant to do something significant with your life? Where we're going you can do just that.

Juliet Burke:
Where exactly are we going?

Richard Alpert:
I can't tell you that. What I can tell you is that you'll see things there that you've never imagined. Now, no one's forcing you to do anything. So if you change your mind we're happy to take you back to the... [Juliet grabs the glass and downs it in one big gulp]

Um... You probably shouldn't have drunk that so fast! [Juliet passes out]
