First it was our offices, then the stagecoaches, now it's the trains. It's got to stop. We've got to teach these outlaws that it isn't healthy to rob Wells Fargo.

Jim Hardie:
We've also got to teach them that it's unhealthy to kill a Wells Fargo agent.

Wells Fargo Chief:
Wells Fargo is more than just an express company. It's an institution we built solidly. The name of our company has come to mean something: safety, security. We've got to safeguard that reputation and the law, too.

Jim Hardie:
Trouble of it is, there isn't any law in half of the places we operate, except the law of the gun. Mind you, I've got a good healthy respect for the law. I'll fight for it and defend it whenever it's possible. When it isn't, we've got to use our rules and our laws.

Wells Fargo Chief:
The company's behind you, Jim. Whatever it costs, you've got to bring in these outlaws or make sure they never rob another Wells Fargo strongbox anywhere.
