Quotes from the news wire:
The official declaration confirms what all could see in the video. Irvo, while facedown and handcuffed at his wrists and shackled at his ankles, was not permitted to breathe. For over 11 minutes, the ten officer/hospital defendants pushed down hard on every part of Irvo’s body until he was limp and lifeless, we cannot continue to treat the mentally ill with such brutality.
Five Memphis Police Department officers can state that preliminary findings indicate Tyre suffered extensive bleeding caused by a severe beating, and that Tyre Nichols observed injuries are consistent with what the family and attorneys witnessed on the video of his fatal encounter with police on January 7, 2023.

We got to stop this vicious cycle in America of shoot first and ask questions later when it's Black people. It's unacceptable, i tell you brothers and sisters in Fayetteville, North Carolina tonight, that it is the right thing to do, that we speak up for the truth of what happened to Jason Walker, that we fight for the truth of what happened to Jason Walker.
It's heart-wrenching. That's why Wanda Cooper-Jones need prayers, and Wanda Cooper-Jones need the pastors' prayers for Wanda Cooper-Jones, just so Wanda Cooper-Jones can try to keep Wanda Cooper-Jones sanity, if this was your child, how would you keep composure after you see these people lynch him and then you see them offer this self-defense and people are actually taking this as if it's credible ?
Not only were Chauvin and the City of Minneapolis held accountable, but cities and states across the country have passed meaningful reforms, including restrictions on chokeholds and better training and protocols, we need this sentence to usher in a new era of accountability that transforms how Black people are treated by police. To achieve that – real, lasting change in police departments from coast to coast – we need the U.S. Senate to pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act without further delay.
While we appreciate that the district attorney is pursuing justice for Daunte, no conviction can give the Wright family their loved one back. This was no accident. This was an intentional, deliberate, and unlawful use of force. Driving while Black continues to result in a death sentence, a 26-year veteran of the force knows the difference between a taser and a firearm. Kim Potter executed Daunte for what amounts to no more than a minor traffic infraction and a misdemeanor warrant.
We feel this decision not only failed Jacob and his family, but the community that protested and demanded justice, this sends the wrong message to police officers throughout the country. It says its OK for police to abuse their power and recklessly shoot their weapon, destroying the life of someone who was trying to protect his children.
There's video that the family understands exists, that after seven minutes of him laying motionless on the ground, they did put him in handcuffs, so we're demanding that the other police bodycam video be released so the world can see that they continued to show disrespect to unarmed Black people.

They didnt allow Grand Jury to do what the law says they have the right to do. This failure rests squarely on the shoulders of Daniel Cameron, only because a brave member of Grand Jury asked for permission to issue a statement and Judge OConnell ruled on the side of transparency do we have this confirmation of AG Camerons dereliction of duties.
How ironic and typical that the only charges brought in this case were for shots fired into the apartment of a white neighbor, while no charges were brought for the shots fired into the Black neighbor's apartment or into Breonna's residence, this amounts to the most egregious disrespect of Black people, especially Black women, killed by police in America, and it's indefensible, regardless of how Attorney General Daniel Cameron seeks to justify it.
George Floyd says in response to Thomas Lane. George Floyd was given no explanation as to why George Floyd was being questioned, according to the news report. Ben Crump, the attorney for the George Floyd family, said the footage reinforces that George Floyd posed no threat to the four officers. The more video evidence you see, the more unjustifiable George Floyds torture and death at the hands of the police becomes, although the allegation against George was for a non-violent offense involving a $ 20 bill, the police officers approached him with guns drawn, simply because he was a Black man.
