Quotes from the news wire:
In this case, he has no opponent, and who he's hurting is not a rival, he's hurting himself, because he's now the president and it doesn't matter whether he blames Barack Obama or not. People don't care about Barack Obama anymore. They care about one person. They care about the president, and he's the president.
It's one thing if you're a profit-making company...it's another thing to be sanctioned by the Republican National Committee, and because of that sanction, you have a responsibility beyond just making money. The RNC did not hold these new channels to the standard that should be required, which is that everybody one of our presidential candidates will be treated with dignity and respect. Period. Everyone. There is no undercard! There is no kids' table! Everybody is treated with respect. Why? Because they are running for the nomination of our party, and we demand it. But they never did.

I don't think the President's a Muslim, but I don't think it's my obligation to go out and repeat that every time someone who feels that way says something.
I wish I had never said that ... It was a flippant comment that should not have come out of my mouth. But the substance of what I said -- which is what I referred to -- I stand by that ... I wish I had not said it in the flippant term that I did. And I know people were offended by it and I wish I hadn't said it.
It's obviously a crime of hate. Again, we don't know the rationale, but what other rationale could there be? You're sort of lost that somebody could walk into a Bible study in a church and indiscriminately kill people, this is one of those situations where you just have to take a step back and say we — you know, you talk about the importance of prayer in this time and we're now seeing assaults on our religious liberty we've never seen before. It's a time for deeper reflection beyond this horrible situation.
